[A510][ROM][2012-09-17] NoThrills A510 Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 - Acer Iconia A700 and A510

NoThrills A510 Unofficial CyanogenMod 10
version 2012-09-17, built from source
JellyBean for your tablet! Unfortunately, I was not the first to release this... While I was working on it, BenEtNath released his CM10 build, and will forever be recognized as the first developer to bring JellyBean to the Iconia Tab 510 tablets. In future, I'm sure we'll merge our projects, but for now it's fun to learn for the both of us!
Here's what's in this ROM:
Multi-language support: All the languages Android offers are available in this ROM. There are too many to list!
ThrillsKernel (experimental): Click here for full details on the kernel.
Rooted: SU (3.1.1), BusyBox (1.20.2) and SuperUser (3.1.3) installed by default.
Fully Deodexed: Both system apps and system framework.
Zipaligned: For better RAM usage.
/etc/init.d support: Allows you to run your own scripts or mods on boot.
AGPS Patch applied and LTO downloadservice installed: This should get you a faster satellite lock.
Ad-blocking HOSTS file: Makes your browsing experience faster and less annoying.
Various performance tweaks: Yes, even CyanogenMod can be improved!.
Installation:
Step 0:
Check this thread to see if you can help the community before you let us help you!
Step 1:
If you don't have it already, install my CWM-Based Recovery.
Step 2:
Download the ROM from this post, extract the .RAR files and put the .ZIP file on your internal or external SD Card.
Step 3:
Start Recovery by powering down your device, holding the Volume down (**) button and turning it on again.
Step 4:
Make a Nandroid Backup. I can't stress this enough. Select backup and restore and choose one of the backup options.
Step 5:
This step is optional, but recommended when you first install this ROM. Select wipe data/factory reset. Note that this will wipe everything from your data partition, including downloaded apps and settings. Files on your internal or external SD Card are safe.
Step 6:
Install this ROM by choosing install zip from sdcard and then choose zip from sdcard or choose zip from external sdcard.
Step 7:
Wait for the installation to finish (this takes a few minutes). Spend your time reading the text below these installation instructions!
Step 8:
Select reboot system now, and enjoy!
Please read the following carefully before installing this ROM:
I am not responsible for anything you do to your tablet. Whatever you do, you do it at your own risk!
This ROM is pre-rooted.
This ROM does not contain Google Apps, as this is prohibited by the AOSP license. Read below on how to get Google apps, don't use any generic installer!
First boot (after the automatic reboot) will take a while (5 minutes is no exception). Just be patient, it will boot faster next time.
When the tablet has completed booting for the first time, give it another few minutes to get 'up to speed'. It should be much faster after about 5 minutes.
FAQ:
Want themes? Get them somewhere else! I probably don't like your taste, you probably don't like mine. So why pretend? Use this ROM as your base and start theming yourself!
Want mods? Your ideas might be good in your situation, they probably aren't in mine. Again, use this ROM as your base and start modding yourself!
Found bugs? Let me know! Although I can't promise I'll be able to fix them all, at least I will try.
Want to use this ROM as base for your own? Go ahead, make my day. But do credit me with a link to this thread, so people can also taste my flavorless contraptions.
Want to give me your first born baby? I'd rather not have that, but if you really want to give me something: Either click the 'Donate to me' button on the left, or simply hit the 'Thanks' button on this post.

Google Apps:
The Google Apps are not included in this ROM. Also, because Acer partitioned our device with only 344MB for system files, we're running out of space with JellyBean builds. To remedy this, I have crafted a Google Apps package custom-made for my CyanogenMod 10 build. It will install most of the files to the FlexROM, leaving you with about 90MB space on the system partition.
This package installs the Play Store, Facelock, Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Street View, Google+, Talk, VoiceSearch (Google Now), and Talkback.

Note: Don't use this installer on other ROMs, and don't use other Google Apps installers on this ROM. It will mess things up!

there is absolutely no conflict in that, and in fact, I'm really happy that he takes the lead on that.
Thanks for the kind mention on OP, I do not deserve it a lot as my major work was porting the great work of pawtip but it's nice to have been for a while the current releaser of android 4.1 for this great device we own
The only thing that is sad for me is that I'm not even sure I'll flash own build once I get mytab back.. strange situation isn 't it. .
anyway thanks a lot nothrills
I'm really happy that you join the story, because without your recovery, I would not have been able to release my cm10

And it comes in blue (stock ROM) and green (Franken700 ROM) too!

Two bugs:
1080p filming doesnt work at the first time, second time it's perfect
- Google Voice search FCs after you said something, even after reboot
But I never use it so no big deal.. it's blazing fast! Thanks!

Great Job!
I'll wait a few returns and corrections before to use this rom .. I use my tablet quite extensively like playing Tegra 3 Games and HD movies.

great work...again
and System is mountable r/w ... GREAT !

Wow, this ROM is very cool. Thanks for the work!
I noticed that there's no sensitivity setting, though? Was that canned in CM10?

Not that it was canned in CM10. But I think (and someone slap me if I'm wrong) the sensitivity setting is an Acer ROM feature.
A very badly implemented feature at that.

Report:
- 1080p movie player, not lag at all, perfect.
- USB pendrive working
- External SD card can access
- touch screen work perfect
- camera ok
- 1080p video capture ok
- wifi ok
- internet browser ok.
Maybe bug
- no more Dolby surround sound, sound very softly
THis rom really smooth, very enjoyable. :good:

Omg omg thank you!!! Works like a charm for me. No issues thus far!!!
Wooooooo!!!!

+1 .. on mobiles, Blur is really kinda slow to use (except latest Defy), but with 1Ghz, it really kicks ass... its not much extra but its enough compared to a stock edition, and the fact they kept it simple and still kinda stock.
and no its not like ADW launcher, its more
Is it possible yo use the media streaming app and remote access app from this rom in ,let's say, foliomod?
Any chance will ever see gsm working on this?
I like this rom but the missing stuff from foliomod made return to foliomod1.3d anyway i am always installing new roms to explore...

[A510][ROM][2012-12-17] NoThrills A510 WorldWide optimized Stock ROM

NoThrills A510 WorldWide optimized Stock ROM
version 2012-12-17, built on Acer_AV051_A510_1.034.00 (JellyBean)
After several years of XDA absense, I'm back in the game! I've provided you guys with a working CWM-Based Recovery for the A510, but my main area of interest is ROM cooking. For those of you who are unfamiliar with a NoThrills ROM: It's a stock ROM, the way it should have been. Manufacturers often intend to build the best devices ever, but due to budget cuts or rushed schedules the most important part of development (finetuning) is skipped. That's where I step in! I create stock ROMs that look and feel the same as the original manufacturer ROM, but are vastly different on the inside.
Here's what's visually changed from the original Stock ROM:
NOTHING.
Here's what's changed on the inside:
Added additional languages: This ROM contains: Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Ukrainian.
System apps updated: See the second post for the full list.
FlexROM apps updated: See the second post for the full list.
AGPS Patch applied and LTO downloadservice installed: This should get you a faster satellite lock.
Ad-blocking HOSTS file: Makes your browsing experience faster and less annoying.
Added English TextToSpeech files: Why were they missing in the first place, Acer? German, Spanish, French and Italian were included by default...
Various performance tweaks: Faster file access, less logging, better response overall.

This ROM is pre-rooted. Do NOT attempt to install BusyBox or SU manually or you might break root. You can safely upgrade BusyBox and SU!
When installed, this ROM will reboot the tablet on its own once, before Android fully boots. This is normal, it's not a boot loop but it's ensuring your tablet becomes rooted.
First boot (after the automatic reboot) will take a while (5 minutes is no exception). Just be patient, it will boot faster next time.

I guess not. I don't have an A511 myself, but I'm guessing there is stuff for the 3G bit missing in the kernel.
If could create a A511 kernel myself, but I'd need someone with an A511 to test it for me.

Just to clarify: This ROM uses the updated 1.099.00 system files from the EMEA_DE stock ROM, because this seems to be the best build so far. I've transformed the ROM into a WW_GEN1 ROM, so it's a WorldWide ROM and with my recovery this can be installed on any A510 tablet.
And ofcourse, the more people who use and report about my ROMs, the better they will get :good:

NoThrills is a stock rom modder (similar to what Paul of Modaco does I think). So Acer needs to release our JB update first, then NoThrills can work his magic. :cyclops:

Without a unlocked bootloader, you cannot install a custom recovery
Without a custom recovery, you cannot install a custom ROM
So....
I have the german '99 Rom installed. In regards to the touchscreen sensitivity, installing this custom Rom wouldn't change anything, correct?

First off: Yes, this ROM is for the Acer Iconia TAB A510. The software is taken from A700 tablets and modified to run on your A510 tablet, thus bringing Android 4.0.4 4.1.1 and other goodies (like the new 'power profiles' in the 'settings' menu) to your fingertips!
Here's what's visually changed from the original A700 ROM:
NOTHING.
Here's what's changed on the inside:
Multi-language support: Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Ukrainian.
ThrillsKernel v3: Click here for full details on the kernel.
A510 drivers and additional A510 files added.
System apps updated: See the second post for the full list.
This ROM is NOT intended to be flashed on a A700 tablet. It won't boot!
This ROM is a BETA. I guess it's stable enough now...
When the tablet has completed booting for the first time, give it another few minutes to get 'up to speed'. It should be much faster after about 5 to 10 minutes.

It's a play on Frankenstein... If you have a better name let me know
Naa, that's fine. Frankenstein was my second guess ... but the first was more obvious for me ... i'm living not far away from "Franken". And the ROM is your creation thus you can decide every name you want ... except "mechkilla" .
Just for verification purposes, can this be installed over the optimized stock rom?

In my opinion Franken700 is better but it's maybe only an impression (and also because ICS 4.0.4 has reputation to be faster than 4.0.3).
The only "bug" i have noticed is that when i start internet browser, i have to zoom out (the first time only!!!).
The opti500 rom is good but (in my opinion) does not provide enough improvements...
(sorry for my english... i'm french)

a bit more efficient rom
Got it up and running about 5 hours ago and loving it. Alot more responsive and quick. Thanks NOTHRILLS for the first Thrill since the battery!!!
I have been running the franken A700 rom all day and so far it is running very smoothly and without any bugs so far
Thank you so much to everyone that has replied. I wanted to make sure that the screen responsiveness bug isn't there.
Slightly related question. Does anyone know how I should backup my local ICS browser bookmarks?

[Nook HD/HD+] EMMC CM11 install - updated 11/29

I see there's this new CM11 going, and thanks to @Hashcode who solved most of the complex problems already, here's my first stab at CM11 on our Nook HDs that installs into internal memory (EMMC).
The install is a lot similar to how it was done in CM10.2 days, but you will need a new recovery image (and a new sdcard image for those doing initial install):
So, For Nook HD+: Initial ovation sdcard image (cwm) | ovation recovery image (CWM)
For Nook HD: hummingbird Initial sdcard image | hummingbird recovery image (CWM)
I did some light testing and things seems to be working for whatever light loads I came up with, but still there are probably tons of problems that I have not yet noticed. Please write in the comments about what's broken and I'll try to fix it. Once it's good enough, I'll try to get official nightlies going for CM11 as well, I guess.
Latest CM11 EMMC images are now available as CM11 nightlies at:
For Nook HD+ get ovation builds
For Nook HD get hummingbird builds
There also might be experimental builds available referenced below in the history section.
(Also for completeness, For Nook HD+ sdcard image cm-11-20141129-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-sdcard.zip, | initial sdcard image for ovation )
For new Installs:
Download the initial sdcard image
ungzip and write to sdcard using dd (winimage or whatever for those stuck on Windows)
Instert the card into your nook and reboot
Flash the recovery image
Flash cm11 image
Flash whatever other extra things you need like gapps
remove the sdcard
reboot the nook
For upgrades from CM10.x (the only tested are 10.2 and 10.1). If you have any problems after upgrade - you'll need to do factory reset to clear /data:
Download recovery zip and CM11 install and place it on the nook
Reboot into recovery you already have installed
Flash the recovery zip you just downloaded
reboot into recovery again (This is important! Failure to do this will botch your upgrade and you'll need to wipe /data) so that the new recovery is started.
Install CM11, install other stuff you need like gapps
reboot
enjoy
Note: After upgrade you will need to reenter all of your wifi passwords.
Useful apps:
Overall loudness and volume control app: NookHDVolumeAdjuster-1.apk
Touch screen sensitivity control: NookTouchscreenSensitivityAdjuster-4.apk (backup link)
USB host control (usually only needed on official CM builds, as otherwise you can use Quick Settings panel): USBHostSwitcher.apk
Known problems:
- attempting to reformat external sdcard from android crashes volume manager - seems to be upstream problem of some sort. The sdcard is left in some strange state, so don't do it. (if you did, reformat the sdcard on your PC, all data will be lost either way)

Thanks for starting the work again -- I can't wait for official nightlies. And welcome back.
Also, it seems that we have to use CWM. Is there a reason TWRP isn't supported, or is that on the to-do list?
Nice to see this, I've used Bokbokan's eMMC build off his blog with TRIM support by default (MAG2GA ver06 10/2012), and I've used yours with TRIM everything worked great.
Does this build come with TRIM enabled?
Will this be updatable via CM updates in settings?
Thank you for making my tablet a tablet again!
It would be interesting to know if it presents visible differences from CM 10.2 regarding responsiveness, especially with ART enabled. It's the last fort to be conquered with our nooks (trim+art). Sadly my nook is not back yet so any reports would be welcome.
Awesome

It should be updatable via the settings once it's an official built. Right now, all of the builds are unofficial ones, so they have to be fully downloaded and flashed.
verygreen is the official device maintainer for CM though, so once he "approves" of the build, it will be built nightly by the CM servers, and then it will be fully integrated into their update mechanism (or CyanDelta if you use that). Just like the 10.2 builds.

It's on the todo list, but cwm was easier to make at first (as in, next to zero effort)

Yes, this has TRIM-enabled kernel, though I have not decided if I should do it for the official releases.
Have there been any more bricks with the trim-fixed kernels in the past couple of months?

I guess yes, once there are official nightlies again. But I want to make sure it's at least of adequate quality before enabling that.
Just an advisory: I just flashed this over Succulent's rom with no problems, BUT I lost all my saved wifi profiles and had to reflash gapps. Not any big deal, but to anybody else who plans to do that and isn't coming from CM 10.1/2: be prepared. Relatively painless upgrade, though. Very glad to see TRIM enabled. Don't plan on enabling ART until xposed/gravitybox is compatible. This is much, much smoother than Succulent's build.
Good job!
I can't speak for anyone but didn't see anything from a quick search in the post: TRIM FAQ. I can attest that mine works and I believe it should be one of the bad eMMC (MAG2GA ver06 not ver05).
I did test TRIM (vdc fstrim dotrim) no issues, and found the CM11 under updates (after I updated to CM11) so I can attest to that much!
Thanks for the reply

I would say they are about same smooth. Succulent's build has some nice framework and more option in performance settings. But just from system ui or user experience they are almost the same. Not could I tell the difference in app opening or transition.
Stock launcher Does lag when press the app drawer butter from home screen. But I use Nova launcher to solve the problem.
No find significant performance inprovememt over cm10.2 yet. Maybe Kitkat just does more job in UX polishing rather then performance.
Hopefully we could find some Performance MOD to use in KitKat.
It may very well be due to the fact that I upgraded from CM 10.2 and did not do a clean install, but for me Succulent's build was extremely laggy, many apps froze frequently, and when too many apps (more than like 3) were open it would reboot itself. I have none of those problems with this build, it's super smooth and fast and I haven't had any apps become laggy or crash or reboot my tablet. And this is upgrading from CM 10.2>Succulent's KK>Verygreen's KK; I still haven't done a factory reset and don't plan to unless it becomes necessary later. I use Nova as well. I'm not saying Succulent's build is bad, I thought it was bearable enough to use and was planning on using it long term, updating with each new build until it got to where I thought it should be, but then I installed this build and the difference is staggering. If I reflashed Succulent's build and wiped my data partition I might have a better experience, but now that I have this I don't see any need to.
this is great, glad to see you're back =)
my nook is currently being borrowed, i was wondering if anyone could quickly benchmark it?
thanks
Thank you Verygreen for this new build.
I will try it today.
I have 2 questions about CM11 and Nook HD+ hardware:
- did the HD+ have a bluetooth low energy (BT 4.0) chips?
- did the HD+ have a Low-power audio playback (kitkat new feature) capable chips?
If yes, is it included in this new CM11 build?
Thanks
Edit:
I found that Nook HD+ has wl1271l chip and uses wl12xx driver. That chip is BT 4.0 and BLE. See here http://www.rfm.com/products/data/wls1271l.pdf
But this thread show that BLE isn't activated in CM.

[ROM] iPioneer Slim 10c v0.1 for LGV521 - Rooted, busybox, init.d, debloated, etc...

***/
iPioneer Slim 10c v0.1 is a light, clean and fast custom rom designed for the Lg G Pad X 8.0 (T-Mobile variant only) and it's aim is to become a replacement for the default system of this device.
iPioneer Slim 10c v0.1 it is light because it only takes 519.8Mb of disk space which is a big difference when you compare the 1.2Gb of a stock rom, it is clean because it only contains the essential apps to make it work properly and it is faster because the whole system have been 100% optimized.
iPioneer it have been designed with the User Freedom in mind, it only provides you with the basic OS so you can do what you need to do on top of that.
Features:
Based on stock (10c)
Rooted
Busyboxed
Init.d Support
Extremely debloated (very serious)
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Nova as default launcher
Installation instructions:
Download the rom to your desire location (link to download to the end of this post).
Boot into Twrp recovery and do a standard wipe (factory reset).
Install the downloaded rom .zip.
Reboot the device.
Be patient, is going to take more time than a regular stock rom to boot into the system, at first is going to be stuck at T-Mobile logo but after few seconds is going to enter into App Optimization mode and after that you will be able to setup your system.
Enjoy it.
First things to do after you install this rom:
Add your google account (if you didn't complete that step at the first setup).
Download your favorite app manager (Rom Toolbox, Titanium, etc.).
Freeze the application called App Updates in order to stop the system update beacon for OTA. I removed 3 core apps in order to stop OTAs but it seems to be very integrated with the system, there is no way I can remove it from the rom without breaking the system. This is the most practical way to my knowledge right now.
Optionals things to do after you install this rom:
You can uninstall Nova Launcher if you want as is not part of the system apps, but before you need to install your favorite launcher. If you don't install another launcher and remove Nova you will have a broken system and most likely you'll have to re-flash the rom.
On purpose bugs and missing options:
On purpose bugs are bugs that comes when you remove a functionality from the system but it can not be removed from a third party component, example: LG VPN app it has been removed but the options remains in the Settings of the device and when you tap that option you will provoke a crash event, the way to resolve this is to decode the third party component (very difficult) or reinstall the missing part (in this case the LG VPN app).
iPioneer Slim 0.1 it comes without some apps that can not be removed from the system setting options, this is like that because I believe that these apps are not necessary for all people, if someone need them they can be downloaded/replaced from the Play Store or I will provide a flashable file with these apps so you can install them.
On Purpose bugs (located at settings):
From the Share & Connect menu:
File Sharing that contains BLE and Android Beam doesn't work, package SmartShare it has been removed.
Media Server (DLNA) doesn't work, package SmartShare that also contains SmartShare.MediaServer it has been removed.
Lg Airdrive doesn't work, package LGAirDrive & LGAirDriveSettings were removed.
From More>VPN menu:
LG VPN doesn't work, package VpnClient_LG it has been removed. Basic VPN it works.
From Display menu:
Home screen doesn't work, packages LGHome, HomeSelector, LGHome_Theme_Optimus, com.lge.launcher3, com.lge.launcher2.theme.optimus were removed.
If you need these options to be available on your system just download these app on Play Store if they are available or just wait until I have ready the System Apps flashable zips.
Missing options (located at settings):
Smart Cleaning not present, package LGSpringCleaning it has been removed.
Cloud (cloud integration in settings) not present, package CloudHub (maybe dependant on SmartShare package) it has been removed, please also note that this cloud integration it was integrated on the stock File Manager, so... if you want a full integration of the Cloud service on settings maybe you will have to install the stock File Manager provided by LGFileManager package.
From Backup & reset menu:
LG Backup is not present, packages LGBackupLauncher and LGBackup were removed.
From About tablet menu:
Update Center and its content (App updates & System updates) is not present, packages com.lge.appbox.client (app updates), com.lge.updatecenter & LGUpdateCenter (main menu for updates) were removed.
If you need these options to be available on your system just download these app on Play Store if they are available or just wait until I have ready the System Apps flashable zips.Flashable zip with system apps:
Coming soon when I have a free time.
What to do if you get the OTA notification:
Freeze the app called App Updates with your favorite app manager.
With your favorite file manager go to /cache and delete the update.zip (the downloaded ota).
Tap on Restart & Install button on OTA pop-up, the pop-up it will start counting to 0 in order to restart but your device won't restart because there are 3 core apps removed from this rom plus 1 app that you just disabled (all these 4 app controls the OTA), the notification is just gonna disappear, push recent button and clear the ota pop-up window.
Bugs Report:
If you find a bug in this rom just notify me about that in this thread, please, just use the title as "Bug Report" so I can pay close attention to that, my time is very limited. Thank you.
Feature Request:
If you want a feature to be added into future revisions of this rom just notify me about that in this thread, please, just use the title as "Feature Request" so I can pay close attention to that, my time is very limited. Thank you.

For some reason this post doesn't show up on ET page: lg-g-padx
Too bad, a lot of people won't be able to see this rom, but I can do nothing.
If someone knows an admin who can fix this issue please make mention of this post to him. I would do it but I don't have the time to.
Thank you.

How fast does it run compared to the stock rom?

How fast it can go is a subjective matter:
It will depend on hardware lifetime span (how you use it and how other people use this tablet).
It will depend how much apps and content you put in it (the more things you download the more slow android is gonna be, this is kind a Swap area).
I did not do a benchmark, when I declared that is faster than a stock rom is because that speed response enhacement it comes based on the Deodex and Zipalign process. It can be or maybe not noticeable to your eyes but based on deodex and zipalign process is for sure that is faster than an odex and not-zipaligned rom.
The best answer is that you need to try it on your own and see the difference.

Poll added at the beginning (not visible in tapatalk or xda app).
Please only select the apps that you really need or you really think that should comes with the next revision of iPioneer Slim rom.
This will help me to build a better version with features that users needs.
C'mon guys... only 3 users have use the poll...
I need more data background in order to release a new version of the Slim line version (may be the last one).
All V521 users please contribute with this.
Right now I'm testing a new build that it seems to have success stoping ota download and notification & I have removed even more bloat background packages.
As of today I start the syncing process of CyanogenMod for our device, so all I ask is that V521 users vote in the poll so I can build and release what I think it would be the last Slim version (iPioneer Slim 0.2) based on users needs.
Once I start the developtment with CM I will not pay attentions to the Stock & Slim version until I finish with what is gonna become iPioneer CM 13.
Thank you for your attention guys.
BTW: sorry for my english, I try so hard to write all this in a good way. Arriba Mexico Papa!!!

The reason is that the xda app can't see the vote going on.
Personally, I will be excited to see a cm/aosp custom build, which will sure draw much more attention.

But it is visible and operable through a normal web browser in android: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...ioneer-slim-0-1-lg-g-pad-x-8-0-t3513030/page1
Or the option LOAD IN BROWSER in xda app and WEB VIEW in tapatalk...

Another reason is not many users are interested enough in a slimmed stock rom. The benefits of a slimmed stock rom may include less system storage usage. But the free uped system storage is not accessible for users to use as data storage anyway. Speedwise, I wouldn't expect noticeable improvement from a slimmed stock rom. As a result, the benefits of a slimmed stock rom is not enough to draw users' attention or interest.
I am a flashholic but I actually not interested in slimmed stock at all because I already have root.
I personally advise you to not spend too much time on modified stock rom.
I appreciate your work and look forward to your future possible cm rom, which I will definitely try it out and will draw many g pad x users here. And don't forget there is a bounty for custom roms like cm.

You are right about working in a stock version. The reason why I'm doing this is because we all know that CM most of the time has bugs, bluetooh problems, camera issues, data conectivity troubles, etc...
Sooooo, if the version of CM I'm going to compile it results with many bugs there is gonna be the option to go back to stock slimed or stock bloated.
I can build a CM verion but Im not the kind of guy who inverts his time in CODE MODIFICATION, so hopefully the build it comes with no bugs at all or at least no major bugs.
The other alternative is that I can sync, compile and build and one more guys can do the bug fixes.

That would be great! I think if you took a poll most people would prefer a CM build to a slimmed down stock build.

Yeah, I know that. Wish me luck.
Right now I'm stuck trying to get the Blobs for this device and compiling the kernel so I can build the CM recovery, once I have the recovery done I can start compiling CM and start testing.
I'm trying to by pass the kernel (as is not need it right now to build the recovery) but for some reason the system is demanding an standard and working kernel... weird...
But honestly speaking is gonna take lot of time. So be patient guys.

There is already a TWRP recovery for v521. Why you need to compile cm recovery?

Ik, is just a prebuilt because our device doesnt have a device tree or structure already, so making this at first is gonna help me to buil the cm zip.
Is not need it if a device tree already exist but not in this case, just see it like a pretesting of code for this device.
When I try to compile this recovery things are gonna break so you get info of what is missing, what you need, log, etc... So you fix everything you can in this step and then you build the cm.zip in a better way (less issues).

device tree has been around for a while, it obviously will need some renaming to work for cm source but its a good foundation to start with.

These are your device tree for twrp 4 b3 right?
Let me see if I can work with that, I was almost done building the cm.recovery and fixing some boot.img issues but if I can take your files that would save time.
Did you forked that device tree or u just build it from scratch?
If you forked them, from what device?
I was thinking on pulling the v500 just to figure out some sort of missing info I havent been able to catch from ramdisk.

i built it from scratch, id be careful looking too much at the v500, it's a snapdragon 600 SOC which is very old and is a quad core. the 615 in the g pad x is octacore and much newer. even the ramdisk is going to have big differences in how its handled.
