So guys i've noticed a few/a lot of you guys have gone back to Gingerbread seeking better battery life and well less bugs than the current lineup of ICS roms bring. So I decided to take the best original rom we have for GB and make improvements on it. I took Val-Final and made some cool tweaks for it

Installation:
1.Backup your data
1b.(if) you are coming from any MTD rom then One-Click Back to stock
2. Flash AntonX kernel (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/74713966/1.1.3/sms-T959V-KJ6-antsvx.stdf.v1.1.3.zip)
3. Reboot recovery
4. Flash rom (NO aroma installer yet)
5. Reboot
6. Let it sit for 5 mins.

Why you used Anton's kernel instead of Blast Off? Just curious. I was trying to install BO but the wifi driver never worked.

very limited time to work on this...mostly kyndig is testing for me because I am unemployed and been job searching and school that's it lol...don't even have wifi access at time so when kyndig tests blast off i'll added probably build0x2 which should include some more things

For 1 the kd1 allows the longer text where kj6 doesn't...most people prefer the kg4 but my phone doesn't have service so I only tested kd1 lol

What I meant is that when you have mobile data disabled and turn the phone on a pop up comes up saying "Mobile data disabled. Connect?". Could you remove that like it was removed in the barebones rom?

lol had sprint service before working there hahaha im goona start dev-ing for a tmo phone also but im not leaving Epic no time soo unless 1) most users migrate to something else or 2) a "hard to pass" phone come out of the anis of sprint lol

Make sure the boot sound is named
android_audio.mp3
Then just put that in you system/customize/resource folder

Any way you can post or tell me how to remove CRT animations. Just a personal preference. I want to have the debugging icon removed also.

Well not necessarily. They are simply limited to a 5M size when the stock is limited to a 2M size. Calkulin originally introduced this and simply means you can send bigger and clearer pictures over SMS.

Yes that's the idea.....although some have posted that even with this mod the person who is receiving the mms is still getting it compressed. I have not had a chance to really test that yet. I know I added the correct edits for it not to compress.

Also to clarify.....if the pic is more then the max setting....like if its over 5mb then it will still compress.

Thanks man I got all day. I just thought the debugging icon and the CRT animations were controlled by services.jar. So my first thought was to go back and get the services.jar from stock but then I would get the debugging icon again. Just my thoughts?
DL now. I am just looking for a rom that does the following:
1. Handles my email (Exchange and Gmail) sufficiently
2. Does not give me any issues on SMS or MMS (have had several recent Roms that would drop text messages people were sending me, never received them).
3. Camera/Video works (does not reboot or close on my after i try to use it)
4. Is smooth and decently fast
5. Allows me to create any widget from the widget page.

Swype - you will find two Swype keyboards found in a folder on your sd card. Install as an apk.

Please Wipe Data/Factory reset and Wipe Cache. *Once the slate is clean, flash in recovery.
If you don't wipe...we don't know where you started and will be unable to help you with your issues.
You will notice a Android System fc on bootup. This is due to the tweaks that were coded in. It's not a bug...it's just a side effect. The fix for this is to hit OK when the window pops up.
Lockscreens are controlled by the EDT app which has been integrated into the settings menu. Lockscreen options are the only thing that works atm...we will be working on the other options later. There are music controls on all locks except the AOSP lock.
There are currently no themes that will work with this base. Themes will need to be ported over to this base. Flashing any theme not specifically made for this rom, and this version, will break locks most certainly and will more than likely throw you in a bootloop. Please wait for themes made specifically for this version...you have been warned

This is my first try at making a rom. I used 5.07 "more" stock odex version from Captain Throwback as a base. I put this through the kitchen and added a few other things as well as removed many apps that are not needed.
What I Did:

fixed apple patent "app association" I think. Let me know if it doesn't work

Yeah I agree! Amazing how well a ROM runs without all the tinkering and tweaks. Don't get me wrong tweaks can be nice...but running a somewhat "virgin" ROM has its advantages. Apps open right up and there seems to be little to no lag as far as how "smooth" this ROM flows.

...But it works, and is useful if you don't want to clear all of your notifications, just a few. Ca1ne had a thread where I think he has quick settings and Swype to clear. If so can I request it be baked into the Rom? People don't have to use it if they don't like it, as they will still have the clear button, just nice option for those like myself that want the mod. Tia.

There is no swiping notifications for 5.07 yet. When it comes available I will more than likely bake it into this rom. Thanks for checking it out.
really liking this rom
upon first boot i had 400 mb available space on my internal storage. the download bar colors are really cool, all the multi-colors are pretty awesome.
can you put back the htc widget under settings that control silent, vibration, ring ? i like to keep the bluetooth, gps,wifi and mode toggle on my desktop.
the gps icon is missing on the pull down menu.
nice job on the font and the red divider lines and over scroll:good: in the menu are cool too

I took the liberty of updating the theme to make it more Jelly Bean-ish....and best of all....all menus are easy on the eyes. Now, I have included the stock web browser so you don't need to install it via Aroma.

No need to credit me, I just spend 1hr organizing 20 or so sh-script files. Didn't write a line of code, deleted a bunch of duplicate ones after merging files, then re-organized and added comments. Thanks though.
Looks good. I did like your Redux menu-theming though (trans-black matching the widgets). Any chance on porting that, plus maybe adding some color to the Settings-Menu (even blue text rather than gray makes a big difference next to the gray icons... I've seen small colored icons I like in other phones, but I hate the big colored icons I've seen in other sidekick roms). Oh, maybe you could just tint the settings icons blue so it would match the power-menu.
Anyway, the GOv2 base is as stable/bugfree as a stock KJ2, and the tweaks you added to it bring it up to date with _most_ of Sams changes, and none of the bugs. This should serve the last few users of this phone well. Only thing left to do is change how it looks. I don't expect any new tweaks to help us, unless someone wants to work on zram or something (I don't even know what that is, but it speeds up the ROM for my AdventVega JB I guess).

Here is the weird thing about GOV v2. Once you touch the framework-res.apk, it results in the jump key bug. I did try to update the look, but figured it best to leave it alone....unless enough people want me to change it and then I'll use ay0teddy's jump key mod.

Ok, now I'm confused on this jump-key mod.... I have never used the jump-key in landscape, and it has always worked fine for me, however, I prefer PreHome anyway (thanks for finding that gem) so I changed my jump-key to a search-key simply by copying over the keyboard.kl file from Redux in to GOv2.
1) Does the jumpkey work in landscape with GOv2's untouched framework-res.apk?
2) Isn't PreHome + keyboard.kl changing the jump-key to a search-key a valid solution for everyone?

You should add ezlauncher seems smooth an looks really good.
Not much customizing settings such as themes but it has a really nice app drawer with a task manager

all right no promises as my phone is still... well its not a brick... but i cant flash so i might as well use it to build a house...
anyway ill have it fixed soon im sure but for now here you all go!
And although i looked over this a bunch im sure i missed some things, i can do some cleaning tomorrow and help build a much more full setup. this should boot and flash as you tell aroma to do, but if it doesnt it cant harm anything just wouldnt work, let me know if there are issues and i can fix it!

Ricandroid sent me what I needed and now my phone works!
So I flashed the rom and it works.... sorta, you need to run aroma and flash the rom only, then reenter aroma and choose skip rom and flash your mods, this is far from ideal and I will fix it soon, but I need some sleep so it will have to be tomorrow, sorry guys!
sorry only had a half hour or so to work on this, im uploading now, currently the aroma package seems to work fine, allowing you to install whatever youd like. there for sure needs to be more cleaning up of this i just have the time at the moment.
@RicAndroid, feel free to add to op and use this for now if you want to get it out there, i can help you build up Glorious Overdose V5.1 if you would like as this is great but has room for improvements. a little more sweat and tears and this ROM will be super sweet!
@ everyone else, consider this a preamble to the best ROM yet for this phone, RicAndoird is on his way to bringing this phone back to life once again!
