Hi, I've seen UPgrade and others, but none really fit what i'm looking for.. I saw the red sense theme for the Droid Incredible, and i'm pretty much loking to see if someone could possibly creat one like that for the droid?
Doing a quick search works wonders...

Come on hacku, he said mine wasnt his cup o tea *tear ......
What is it in mine that you dont agree with, im always looking to make it better
Edit: just checked out red sense, looks like dark edge with a hint of red. Might be something I can work on later. Or just do a straight port, I'll send him a pm.
Cool Thanks!
Johnybuenno just gave me the ok to port... will take me a couple days... Stay tuned!

nothing to see here anymore. The mods have let this forum go to crap..... Have plenty of stuff for myself ... maybe the unappreciative tools over at the fission dev can screw up your droids for you.

To reserver a post for 'more' mods, I think you need to have at least one in your first post. ;D
there's root already for 2.2?? does it work for D2 and DX??
So... does this work with the leaked 2.2 update? I read in another post that someone tried to change the notification bar to black and it bricked their phone. I'd rather not have to deal with that if at all possible. Not exactly the most tech savvy if you catch my drift. Just enough to get by.
Can you please make the Droid1 Smoked Glass taskbar for 2.2 that you made for 2.1, that one really looked great. Thanks!
Can you make the clock and notifications white plz... thanks!
@TheWhiteRuineer
This will work with Froyo. The ones in his other thread wont.

WOOT!!!! thanks man that didn't take long. Looks kinda familiar if I must say so myself
I'm assuming the clock color still has the same issue do to what we talked about earlier when you helped me out.
@ teenfaces, kinda curious seeing as you updated this already fro 2.2. Would the file I already have work on this new Froyo build or is that a bad plan to try do you think. Just curious as I like the round clock and so forth you had supplied in my framework.
I would LOVE to see the original 10mod from the 2.1 604 update.

Thanks. I've been waiting all day for someone to reassure me. Haha. And also so I dont have to look at that ugly white notification bar.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the gloss black and its ONNNNNN!

Id rather not say how I learned that lesson.
I'm assuming that we have to wait on a services.jar edited specifically for Froyo as well? It's pretty tough to read incoming texts/my clock/anything else that applies.

Awesome, thanks, this was the one thing driving me insane all day since i upgraded to 2.2
When able to, can you please make an exact copy of Version 9 from the other thread?!?! Thanks!!!
*Shouts* Thank you sir may I have another!
Think I bricked my DX trying this.
Wasn't working through CMD and ADB. Tried it via RootExplorer (dumb I know). Went to a constant boot loop. From Droid animation to Red Eye animation and constantly looping. Tried loading up and running that SBF back again. Didn't work either.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Edit:
Nevermind. Got it. Booted into recovery, wiped data, wiped cache. Ran update.zip again seems to be good so far.
Bricked my X also. Looks like a sbf is in my future.
Hey guys , got this idea from over at the Nexus S forums . Figured if it would work there , it would work here .
What you'll need:
1 can of white Plasti Dip
- I searched Lowes , Walmart , Autozone , Advanced Auto , Hobby Lobby , and Home Depo . Home Depo only had it in black . The only place i found it in store was Car Quest . I live in the south , im not sure how common they are elsewhere . I read it is also available at Ace Hardware .
1 Samsung Fascinate battery cover
- I suppose it would be best if you had a spare , but as long as you use the Plasti Dip brand , i know it can be peeled off if you make a mistake , so you can start over if need be.
About 2 hours
- You'll want to wait about 30 minutes between coats . I have 4 coats on mine .
Get yourself a well ventilated area , shake the can for a good minute and a half before spraying . This should go without saying , but TAKE THE BATTERY COVER OFF THE PHONE BEFORE APPLYING. Once your battery cover is removed , begin applying the spray about 8"-12" away from the cover . Be sure to get the sides , with this being white , and the cover being black , they needed a little extra attention .
As said before wait at least 30 minutes before doing your next coat . I did 4 coats , and i dont think another would hurt . might add another later .
Your result will be awesome . The guy from the Nexus S forum had some SUPER hi res photos that i dont believe do it just . Or maybe mine just came out better , who knows . It still slides in and out of my pocket just fine . It still fits in my factory car dock , and it adds much needed grip to our phones . .. and it looks sexy . It doesnt feel grainy or like truck bed liner at all . I actually had low expectations , but gave a shot because it could be peeled off .
Sorry for the not so great pics , they were taken with another Fascinate and it was super dark. This really surpassed all my expectations ....i feel like i might go on a Plasti Dip spree now ... look out Macbook ...
If you guys have any questions let me know .
I wanna see it in black

haha absolutely not .. neither of our pics do it justice . Its rubber , its not like truck bed liner ... which is what his looks like .. it has a very bouncy feel to it. quite soft to the touch actually . adds just enough texture . absolutely cant go wrong with it being a non-destructive approach for $7.99 . ive never been as aesthetically pleased with my phone as i am now .
Well if it looked as smooth as a Droid back I'd do it but I'm on the fence right now

you should sand the back to make it smooth and add a finish on it to seal so it won't chip.
Its really perfect the way it is ... I want it to gave texture . Its like having a rubber case .... but not . I thought about a clear coat . But thar would make it slick again like the factory was

Might pick up an extra cover and try this. Its starting to get annoying how slick the Fascinate is with no case on. I personally have a white one tho so dont want to mess up the cover I have now.
Hi everybody,
Just taken delivery of a HOS from Orange France....it's a great piece of equipment ....but...is this "normal"?
Have Galaxy I/O 10.1 tabs (2), Galaxy S2, DHD, Sensation, Prime etc; but have obviously grown to love ICS and its' look....Sensation running ICS and looks great, like the prime etc. but this One S looks like the screenshot below of settings window....sh*t! It looks like bloody touchwiz (YUK!!!!!!!)
Is this the standard HTC offering with this version of Sense or is it something that Orange france have added to their rom to try to make it look like a Samsung? Hoping that it is unique to the Orange offering that way at least when we get S-OFF I can get rid of it.....
But if it is common to all your HOS models I find myself thinking "oh my God why have I purchased something that's trying to look like a Samsung?"
Cheers my fellow XDA-ers
wheres the screenshot ?
are you referring to the white settings menu ? If so, Thats how it is !!
unless you flash an AOSP ROM or something

And thanks for the reply.....Mein Gott as they say somewhere in Europe WTF were HTC thinking of....real bummer.....will look into possibly bunging in a custom rom but this is my primary work phone so a bit wary for the time being...
What supplier are you on? Is it the same as screenshot?
Cheers m8
yes, That is Sense 4.0 And im on vodafone UK
Its not the carrier what makes it look like that, Its HTC
What a shame....like I said, for me it looks just too much like TouchWiz
Hello fellow phone nerds!
I am transitioning from Samsung to HTC on Friday! I am so excited to get my One X and tweak it out!! I got a killer deal on it and am so excited! How does everyone like there's? Is there anything I should know about it? What battery life kernel works best for it?
Thanks!
-Jess
A couple things.
Hopefully your new phone hasn't been upgraded already. We can't currently root phones that ship with the latest update or have been updated OTA. Having said that... When you first get your phone on Friday, do NOT update it... dismiss it, cancel the download, postpone it, do whatever you have to until you are comfortable with the procedure on how to root it. That would be extremely unfortunate.
Aside from that, it will take some work on your part but the process of rooting/unlocking is kinda fun for this phone. There is no "all in one toolkit" for this phone. There are various tools you must run, to do various things, to get your phone all setup as the ROM flashing beast you want it to be (granted, its only once, but still). What else.. what else...
P.S. Congrats on the new phone! The community here is much closer nit and nicer (IMHO) than most on XDA..
What phone are you replacing?

I have to admit after 2 years of TouchWiz, sense isn't as bad as I remember ... on a tweaked basis. I prefer a fully functional sense based ROM (Venom because its the only one I saw with notification toggles the way AOKP or TouchWiz does it) vs AOKP with issues. I still use Nova because the Sense Widgets aren't worth being stuck on a 4*4 layout, to me.
Just my $0.02

coming from Motoblur on the original Atrix on AT&T.. Sense is pretty awesome. Motorola really screwed up with the way the made Motoblur in my opinion, i hated it.
As far as battery life, on the Nocturnal Special Edition ROM and ViperXL, I usually get awesome battery life, no custom kernels or anything. I do however, use Root Explorer or TitaniumBackup and remove EVERYTHING that I don't use, like, completely uninstall. i mean, EVERYTHING, like 80% of the sense stuff i remove, widgets, social networking plugins, GOOGLE MAPS i only install when i need it, FACEBOOK, i just use the browser, i like to think of it as flashing my "naked version" of these guys' awesome ROMs
On AOSP ROMs, like AOKP and CM10, I get pretty decent battery as well, but as always, it generally depends on your setup.
The Sense camera is AWESOME. the AOSP camera still needs a bit of tweaking, but has most definitely come a LONG way. i'd say that AOKP 2 that rohan is porting for us is the most solid AOSP we've got going on. I tried the latest MIUI (2.9.14) today, and it still seems very buggy (LOTs of FC's, very, VERY laggy, etc.) but the 4.1.1 JB based MIUI is still very very new

Now I have a mint, white, rooted One X on the way and my sick Rock Quicksand case. I'm psyched!
Here's the link to the case. Buy it. You will NOT be disappointed. I had one for the S3. Amazing case. Polycarbonate with a soft sand feeling. It won't scratch the phone.

Hey congrats and welcome to the crazy One X/XL community.
Hey guys, since I am in the same situation I'll hijack this thread a bit and ask my questions, too.
I am moving from VZW Rezound to the white AT&T Evita (can't bring myself to call it a "HOX") and am hoping I'll get a 1.85 version.
After having lurked here for about a week, my question is whether or not Google Wireless Tether app will work properly on this phone, after/if I root it. The threads weren't clear on this, and I know that the dev ROMs use it, apparently without issue.
I will also attempt to create a janky USB host solution to carrying my most needed music - I commute and I love Google Music, but it doesn't work well in the subway. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Can't wait to get this phone and looking forward to seeing how s-off plays out.

I've also tried other phones and in my very own opinion my OneX spanks any other phone that's near. In speed, looks, camera, screen and battery life. You made an awesome choice, welcome! I agree this section of xda has a lot better and friendlier community than the rest. There's the occasion troll, but I really haven't crossed anyone to push me over the edge. I'll give you a quick answer. Foxfi works much better. I've unlocked the full tether options in my roms and I'm sure other developers have done the same. If you want a good Rom, stay away from the att based ones. Pure junk and full of hidden.bloat. and I'm not talking about apps. And I call the phone a One X too, not a fan of the hox name lol. Join us and you will fall in love with this device. We are about to get jellybean sense 4.5 too...

As already pointed out, there is no "toolkit" for the One X.
But everything you need can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
Is the phone the AT&T branded version? If you receive the phone with AT&T's 2.20 firmware, you're stuck without root (at least for now).
Otherwise, root tools can be found in the index. Then for installing custom ROMs, kernels, radios, etc. the process is to get SuperCID, unlock bootloader and install TWRP recovery.
