[Q] adding recovery method of jaggy jags for other htc phones - HTC Pico (Explorer)

Someone please help me on this!!
Ok so we are all familiar with the jaggy jags method of rooting our explorer.. Now my question is for adding recovery! We download the rar file into a folder and just run the batch file to add recovery.. And if I want to add some other recovery like twrp I just replace the recovery file with twrp's... So If I want to add recovery to my friend's wildfire s, can I use this jaggy's method and replace the recovery file of wildfire s Cwm to this folder of explorer extracted from jaggy's rar and run the batch to add recovery??

Anyone?? :crying:

No. That would probably result in a brick. Search for a CWM port suitable with Wildfire.

[Q] Trying to install CWM... PG58IMG?

Hi there, I have tried to search for this issue but I haven't found anything...
I'm currently following this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300), and have successfully made my device S-OFF.
I can't find the PG58IMG file when trying to flash CWM, the two files I can see are:
recovery-clockwork-5.0.0.8-pyramid.img
and
recovery-clockwork-5.0.0.8-pyramid.zip
Which one do I download, and do I simply rename it? What about the file extension?
Thanks in advance.
I'm a noob...
I just bought a new HTC Sensation, and didn't find what so called PG58IMG.
Just
recovery-clockwork-5.0.0.8-pyramid.img
and
recovery-clockwork-5.0.0.8-pyramid.zip.
Can Anybody help?
Simply rename the .zip file to PG58IMG.zip. make sure it's not PG58IMG.zip.zip. then place it on the root of your sd card, boot the phone into bootloader and select yes with the volume and power buttons when asked to update.
Easy as that ;-)

[Q] help on instal stock arabic rom

hi
I downloaded arabic stock rom from htcdev.com but it isn't a zip file :crying:
how can I install it?
my bootloader is unlock and I'm using jaggyrom 3.2
the stock rom has this name:
pico-2.6.38-gb-crc-6dd95d7.tar.gz
Double click the file to open it. If it contains boot.img, system folder & meta-inf folder... then this can be flashed, but not in that tar.gz format.
You need to extract it and make another zip archive. Put all those items into the zip archive and set the compression method as store.
Now, flash this zip file.
Pre - requisites for flashing any rom :
1. Wipe data/factory reset from recovery mode.
2. Wipe cache from recovery.
3. Wipe dalvik-cache from advanced option in recovery.

thanks
but it doesn't have those folders
I attached the photo of opened archive
I'll be appreciated if you take a look
This can be flashed using RUU (rom update utility) for your phone.
I am seraching for methods...
-----------------------
It is very complicated to flash tar.gz rom file.
For that reason, i found this flashable zip file... --> htc arabic stock 1.28.415.1

If you wish to take the trouble of flashing the tar.gz, then follow this thread (i can't guarantee you anything regarding this)

buddy, there is Q/A thread for the same. I think you must use it first. But if you have made it so here is the solution for rooting:
Q. 4) How Can I flash CMW & Root my Galaxy R.?
A. 4) This is something Critical. Just Joking. Its so easy. If you are over GB then flash Superuser zip file(attached) & if you are over ICS then just flash Ardatdat's Kernel V4 or higher. it will automatically Root your Galaxy R. Link for Ardatdat's kernels in dropbox: → Dropbox ←
Also, one can follow this tutorial for Rooting ICS - > {Guide} Rooting Galaxy R on version 4.0.4 & for flashing CMW please follow this tut -> [Guide] How to flash stock FW and CWW and Root i9103
Also there is Q/A thread for your all questions(most probably) here → http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983262
Edit: Great, MJ used Hammer first.

you didn't understand the problem !
i can't flash any kernel because it is a ZIP file
CWR is not recognizing ZIP files
CWR can't see ZIP files
my problem with CWR and ZIP files
Hello, You can try one of these:
1. Try reflashing CWM v4.0.0.2 via ODIN and check if its recognizing the said zips.
2. Place the zips in a folder inside the internal sdcard and try.

Duplicate thread.
Check. here
Flash ardatdats kernel v4 or higher (download it from here) and youll be done.
And if CWM Recovery is not recognizing zip files..
Dont put it in a FOLDER like
/sdcard/xyz folder/abcd.zip
Put it like
sdcard/abcd.zip
i.e. Directly in the basic folder of sdcard..
NOT in any folder like bluetooth, clockworkmod, android,DCIM etc.
This might solve your issue mate

status 0 error comes due to bad binaries file. Just update binaries of that zip or give a shot from CWM 6.0.1.1.

For updation of binaries->Just extract any CWM File of Galaxy R at your PC/mobile. It will show 2-3 folders. Go to Meta-info folder->In the end of Folders you will see 2 files. one is Update script & second is Update-binaries. These Wrong update binaries become problem of Status 0.
For flashing CWM 6.0.1.1-> Flash This file using CWM
Just click "Show Content" if you think you are Newbie.

Buddy, I have given then CWM 6.0.1.1. extract the inside files. Just follow the above process ( Copy paste of Update-binary file).
MJ buddy, I think we must create the Status error thread with solution coz its so hard to make understand "HOW TO" for the same.

Mj asked me to flash the CWM zip that u gave me so thats exactly what i did. I flashed the zip via CWM and then tried flashing the other zip files(which had failed earlier) and it didnt work. So to be clear - u want me to extract the zip u provided and replace the binaries in the zips(whose flashing failed) with the one from CWM 6.0.1.1 ? and then compress it into zip format (via winzip or winrar). Am i right ?

Yes buddy, so instead of compressing it, just use Winrar. open both files (i.e. error one & CMW)-> Delete update binaries file from Error one-> extract File (update binaries) from CWM.-> Just Drag & drop using mouse the extracted file to Error Ziped file-> Just press ok whatever Winrar says(it will add it in the file)-> Flash that error file now & report.
@MJ, i think you have made a thread regarding CWM errors..??

Stock ROM yes but i use CWM recovery for all practical purposes. As all zips are given in CWM flashable formats including ones as basic as Superuser.zip . Currently I am on X-perience ROM and im using CWM 6.0.1.1. before which i was using CWM 5.5.x

You can get these files in the root of your phone in /system/lib/libfmjni.so . Use a root explorer and just copy these file.
As for the boot.img there are methods like these
1) simplest one is to make a backup of your rom and then use 7zip on pc to browse it and find the boot.img
2)use adb to extract it.( never tried this cause the first one always worked for me)
