I know this was answered before for GB but was I hoping it would be fixed in ICS. I am noticing that it is not and wondered if anyone has stumbled across an app that may make it possible to have the media volume automatically drop to 0 when there aren't headphones plugged in, and turn back up to normal when they are.
Thanks in Advanced,
Cody

I've got a problem with my Omnia 7. Inexplicably, plugging in headphones causes the speaker volume to be boosted substantially after the headphones are unplugged, with no change in the actual software volume level. I'm not sure whether this is a software problem or what (it certainly wasn't fixed in Mango, at least). Rebooting the phone is the only way I've been able to fix it (ie, reduce the volume to what it was originally).
I've heard of people complaining about the loudness and lack of volume variation in the Omnia, but I'm not sure if this is linked to that somehow.
If someone can test this out it would be great, if only so I can get my phone replaced if it's specific to my device. Just reboot your phone, and observe the loudness of the lock/unlock sounds before and after headphones are inserted and removed. It doesn't need to be tested on the Omnia 7 specifically, though - if it's a software issue it's likely to be present on other devices as well.
TLDR; all speaker sounds, whether that be from music, games, system sounds, etc, are louder after I use earphones, even if the volume number is the same. Rebooting it fixes it. If anyone with any device could test this it would be a great help.
Does no one else have this issue? I would appreciate it if one of the many Samsung Omnia 7 owners could test it, at least.
I just tested it and I dont see any change or boost in volume on my SO7.. does your music auto stop playing when you pull out your headphones?
Maybe I explained it incorrectly, here's a video of it:

I sounds louder in reality, but hopefully you can see the increase. Thanks for testing it, though
But yes, the music does stop playing when I remove the earphones. The increase isn't limited to music - it affects all sounds.
I tested it again after seeing your video.. mine remains the same, no increase like in your device..
Infact after watching your video I think the first sound is miffed... after you plug in the earphone and out than the sound it makes is the original sound/volume..
I was hoping someone could help me with a solution to the known issue android has; notification sounds get played through the external speaker when headphones are connected. My ideal behavior is for the external speaker to be completely disabled when headphones are plugged in, and for all sounds to be played exclusively by the headphones.
I always wanted this myself aswell, haven't figured out a way either yet. Not sure if it is possible
I've no idea where this belongs so I thought I'd go as general as possible.
Is there a way to match my notification/ringer volume with my media volume whenever headphones are plugged in?
I'm constantly deafened when I'm listening to music on low volume and a notification goes off full bore because I've forgot to turn them down. If I remember to turn notifications/ringer down then I tend to forget to turn it back up and l end up with missed calls because I plug the phone into computer speakers to play music and can't hear it ring.
I know the easiest solution to this problem is a good memory but does anyone know of a more reliable option?
Phone details if anyone cares
If it matters I'm using a Telstra HTC one XL (same as the one X on ATT) fully stock, unrooted on 4.0.3. I figured it was more of a general android thing which is why I posted it here. I'd definitely root for a fix but I'd rather not flash a ROM until CM10 or AOKP are almost 100%
Thanks guys!

Last few phone had little to no dev support, so I've been away from the root/rom game for awhile. Just picked up a Oneplus 9 and happy to see development going on.
My only complaint so far with this phone is that the system volume is tied to the ringer volume. I want to find a way to silence system sounds completely (things like beep when plugged in, beep with GA, beep with keyboard speech input, etc.). There may be several ways to go, and thought I would ask to see if anyone could put me on the right track (following list are things I've, more or less, done with past phones which had this same "feature")...
ROM suggestions that come with a separated system/ringtone volume?
Xposed mod which decouples or mutes system volume?
App which can mute or decouple system volume?
Root + a list of system sound files that can be zeroed out?
I am open to any suggestions, as long as I can get this fixed.
Hello!
My friend just received his new Samsung S23+ and he has encountered several problems which he told me about, so today I hopped on a call with him so he could show me the issues and they are indeed as he says they are.
Issue #1: When he is calling someone, he can barely hear the other person, the volume is so faint even though all the volume sliders are maxed out. We have not checked the "Absolute Volume" and "Adaptive Volume" setting in the developer options yet. I digged around to see if other people have this problem and could only find this thread https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5...call-volume-too-low-on-s23-phone/td-p/7163399 which sounds like the same issue my friend has. Does anyone know how to fix this or is it indeed a hardware fault like the thread seems to suggest?
Issue #2: Whenever my friend plugs in his earbuds (they have no microphone) via a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, the phone's internal microphone just shuts off, resulting in no one being able to hear him in a call or a voice message. Is there a way to not have the phone shut off its microphone automatically when he plugs in his earbuds?
Would be super duper cool is someone could help us with this issue, I checked issue-trackers for the phone, but they did not seem to list any volume issues.
