Running synergy R73 with trinity kernel (vs 7). Can I only enable fast charge using their dedicated toolbox app? Nstools has this option (apparently), but does not appear in the tweak section as it appears in the play store on my device.
Setcpu doesn't seam to have the option either. There are several galaxy nexus toggle fast charge apps, will these possibly work?
I'll buy trinity toolbox if it's the only way, but I am always changing my system and don't want a paid app that I may never use again.
Thanks guys

And then.......
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
As long as it's enabled in the kernel you can simply toggle it using terminal emulator or similar, typing su to get root privilege then typing ffc. With that being said I recommend you just buy the toolbox, morfic will be adding more features to it as he improves the kernel and its also a great way to show your support for the hard work he's done on the kernel.
Already bought it, all about the support, just hate having paid apps that may go dormant down the road! I hope I can continue the trinity experience when the synergy jb becomes more stable.
Do I still need to enter the terminal command if using the dedicated toolbox, or is that only for other programs that have a fc toggle? I cannot tell if it's working or not.

Gotcha and no you don't need to use the toggle and command just one or the other they both do the same thing.
Just got a response from morfic direct in development forum. Feature is experimental and untested. There is no verification at this time if it indeed does work, but thanks for clarifying how to correctly enable it.

Imo kernel has fast charge too. Turn on via terminal emulator. Works well
Sent from a SYNERGIZED GalaxySIII
Is the terminal code the same for all kernels or does it vary? My terminal experience is limited to "read and follow what the dev has written". Su ffc, is this correct (assuming force fast charge).?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Yes the command is the same on both kernels, type su then ffc.
Now does that have to be done each time you want to use the feature? How do you use an app like nstools that has a toggle? Whole thing seems simple, but it's just not laid out in b&w.
There are also toggle widgets in the play store for the nexus. This to me seams convenient, can we possibly use these.
Sorry for the bombardment of questions, I'm just truly missing something here.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Also, as I understand it fast charging also disables the ability to use data, so how would you then disable fast charge through terminal?
---------- Post added at 09:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:59 PM ----------
Also is there any way to tell if your kernel supports fast charge, or is it just a matter of whether or not it is listed by the dev?
Well you can toggle it on and leave it on but anytime you need to access the internal memory you would have to turn it off. And ya I didn't think about that but a widget would work awesomely for that or better yet a toggle in the notification pulldown
And ya basically if the dev lists it as a feature that's the easiest way to tell but simply trying to run the command in terminal will tell you right away, if there's support it will say fast charge on/off if not it will throwback errors

Nice, thank you my friend
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Does terminal have to be left running for the fast charge to work?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Nope you can just close it after running the command.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Very curious if the galaxy nexus fast charge toggles (they have widgets) in the play store would work on our devices.
Do I risk any problems in trying one out? I would think no, but again just don't know enough on the subject
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I don't think it will hurt anything it probably uses the same command to enable and disable, if anything it probably just won't even work.
What command do you use to turn off fast charge?
ffc will both enable and disable

This has all been covered in the actual CM thread, all of our ROM's are stable they just have some missing features (AOSP built ones anyway)
MMS seems to be an issue right now, i have tried apns backup and reinstall and no luck. The other issue i have noticed is the cameras highest res is 3mp, but is fully functional. I also got 2694 on quadrant, if you have never used cyanogenmod i highly recommend it. Coming from a desire this is a bit of a step backwards, but no other rom will do. That being said, it's highly customizeable compared to other roms i have tried.
So the only thing not working is MMS?
Jesus Christ. Yall read the damn CyanogenMod ROM thread, come on.

Any tips for using wireless tethering on this ROM? I couldn't find it in Settings so I'm using an app but it unusably slow. Has the stock menu option been removed? I don't see USB tethering either.
Also, is there a way to get Swype back? Maybe this method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-841603.html
Barnacle wifi seems to work.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I went back to super clean for the time being, as I also couldn't find any way to access my phone from my windows pc with cyanogenmod - I guess you need a separate app for that too? I will have to do some more research before using that rom. Can't wait, it is by far the easiest on the eyes.

Any word an a "my contacts backup" apk that will run on the cm6?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
Why don't you just put your contacts on your Google account?
thats the best way to save contacts cause then it auto syncs back to the phone on any rom
In hindsight ... it would have been the wiser choice.

I've been searching and reading and I can't seem to find which Android wifi tether works best for our phone.
I went to google and it doesn't say galaxy S 4g so I'm not sure which apk download is safe to use on our phone. I know our phone is different from the vibrant.
Does anyone know which version works best on our phone?
What are you using and how do you rate it?

But also there are various other apps in the market. just search and u will find and dont forget to check what others have to say about the app you intend on downloading. Some suck some dont.

Sorry to shove this question in here but since this seems like the right topic. Is there an app that will allow access to NAT(network address translation) settings? I have the paid version also. When I see an app I like, I always buy it to support the developers.
Even if I don't end up using it at that time, I figure it may come in handy in the future and I don't mind throwing a few bucks to the developers.
Using the Imo 12-2 lean kernel here. It lists auto brightness fix in its features (or was that Synergy ROM...). I haven't been nearly upset with the brightness since I flashed the kernel. Could be a placebo, however...
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Install the free version to see if you like it. Then uninstall and buy the paid version. IMO - the extra features with the paid don't add anything for our device, but I bought it to support the dev.
Yes I recommend Lux too
There's a modified framework for the international version.I tried to port it to our phone but the scripting and methods they used to apply the mod were a bit over my head.
I will try to reach out to the original mod author to see if he is willing to assist but no promises.

Back in the Dinc days I had tasker start the GPS automatically whenever navigation started...but it doesn't look like that is possible with ICS/JB. I'm running beans 9
Does anybody have any idea on how to get this through tasker or other means? Thanks
Personally, I just leave my gps on all the time...
I don't see why Tasker wouldn't work though...
Sent from my (not really) SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
You can use Tasker, but you also need the Secure Settings app with the Root Helper installed in order for 3rd party apps to modify GPS settings. Why Google restricted it like that in Android 3.0+, I'm really not sure...

So do I, there is no reason not to really.
Leaving GPS on doesn't affect battery life enough to even notice.
I simply installed the multiwindow and popup apps from the note 2 onto the gs3 and it works fine.
