Yes, look in the camera settings. You have to have an SD card inserted, though. Otherwise it won't work ^^

Card is inserted! No option to change storage locations under settings. SD card is shown under memory settings.

Hmmm
I don't see any way to do it either.
Maybe another camera app will have an option for this.

I dont think its possible with the stock camera. But it is possible with Camera Zooom.

Same problem for me on .26 and .30 but on the original rom I think the option was there.

How to make External micro sd card primary?

Ok I just bought a 32gb micro sd card.. and I put it in my phone..
how do i make that the primary card that everything gets downloaded it will go there...
because as of right now, I cant even move my games or apps to the external sd card.
You cant.
I'd guess it wouldn't be possible without any custom scripting, similar to apps2sd.
Why would you want to move your games/apps to the sd card?
If you go to "Manage Applications" most apps can be moved to SD card.

But only to the internal SD card, not the removable one.
as long as your rooted. I use root explorer and cut and past to my 32 gb ext card. Its easy with a file program as this. Until someone writes an APPTOExSD its the only way to make it happen. I know it sucks.

Because my internal phone memory is only 1.3 GB
You could run the CyanogenMod custom ROM. That points /sdcard to the microSD and /emmc to the internal memory. Warning, you have to load it on to your phone and you need to install a custom recovery. If that means nothing to you then I advise you read the development forum for a while before attempting anything. If, on the other hand, you know what I'm talking about then you should already know that it's a nightly build, not stable with no ETA of stability. That said, I've been running it for a few weeks now.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058131 for details on the ROM.

Try looking at an app call GL to SD.
Works on my tablet to move gigs of data to external, and the app will still open the apps.
Its like a temporary mount swap.

[Q] Can TWRP use external SD card?

Got current TWRP installed. Works like a champ.
Though I don't see that it recognizes my external SD card, am I missing the setting somewhere?
Can't figure out how to backup/restore/install from SD card.
Thanks in advance!

You have official TWRP release? I have it on my M8 and it works with both FAT32 and exFAT formatted microsd cards.

Maybe I'm being dense (happens) but how does it manifest? In other words, how do you install a zip from your SD card for example?
EDIT: And yep, I'm being dense, didn't realize what is a button on the TWRP UI (coming from CM)

Click the install button. At the top it should have a text field that says internal storage and how much space it has. Click that and select external / micro SD

[Q] My phone goes crazy with SD card

I don't understand why this is happening, this makes no sense for me...
My phone (Xperia E) runs ok, all apps work fine, without any SD card. The problem comes when i insert my 16gb sd card, i don't know why, but some apps just stop working. But not all apps, just some of them. I try to open it and it says: This app is not installed. If i remove the SD card everything goes back to normal... When i try to go to storage settings with SD card on the phone, i get the error: The app settings stopped working. If i go to the storage settings without the SD card, everything works fine. Basicaly, my phone works ok without sd card. With SD card nothing seems to work fine, my phone just go crazy. Pls some1 help me. I know my phone is bad (1ghz cpu and 512mb ram) but it worked fine in the past with that same sd card... Sorry my bad english, not my native language.

Hmm you think that some apps move some of their files to sd, but that is not possible, because, as i said, everything works fine without the SD card. And it is already formated. I'm trying it anyway

if i had to guess, i would say your sd card may have gone bad, could only be partially bad, thats why some things work and some not..
it is my understanding that if you have a card installed the phone will try to use it.
if you have a card adapter to put it in your pc, use this, direct download here to test and see if its bad. it will read and test the hole thing, then provide useful results.

Storing apps on a portable storage SD card

Is this still possible? If so, how do I do this? Preferably solutions without routing but any solution is welcome
For context I'm running Android Nougat (7.0) and this issue is regarding my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. As you're probably aware, the S6 doesn't have an SD card slot so I have to attach an adapter to use an SD card. This means that setting the SD card as internal storage would be a problem since I can't keep the adapter attached all the time, and if I unplug it part of my phones functionality would be affected, since it'll be formatted so my phone always expects it to be present (unless I'm mistaken). This also means that the solution of splitting the SD card into part portable and part internal wouldn't work either.
If you're wondering why I need an SD card its because I've run out of room for apps, I currently have no photos or music that isn't in the cloud so cleaning my phone out to make room isn't much of an option either.
If you need anything clarifying, just ask.
Moving apps to external SD Card
Google took a step backwards with this in the new update. Here's how you move apps from internal storage to your micro sd card:
1. Go to settings/applications/app manager and select an app you wish to move.
2. Select "Storage." Notice that the current storage location is provided. If the app is able to be moved to your micro sd card, there will be a "Change" option. If the app cannot be moved, thus field will not appear.
3. Change the location from Internal to SD Card.
4. Tap on "Move."
I have no idea why Google made this change, because it added more steps to this process than necessary, not to mention that it's a little harder to find on your own.

Thanks!!! Sorry just to confirm I don't have to have my SD card formatted as internal storage to do this right?

No, he described the normal "move to SD card" method, not the adoptable storage method, I think?

But on my phone, Android 7.0, there is not "Change" or "Move to SD Card" option for any installed apps.

I doubted it would have it, nougat should have the adoptable storage option, not the "move to SD" option. That doesn't do you any good.
I'm not sure that you can even do what you're trying to do without leaving the sd inserted.

As far as I know, in newer android versions you can only move apps to adoptable storage.
What you want might be possible with root and a dedicated App2SD app. Without root this is not possible.

If you do what was suggested above, you won't be able to remove the sd card because the device won't function properly with it removed. You'll get an endless chain of FC's(app has stopped working) that will make your device uncontrollable because it keeps popping up with FC notifications. You won't be able to navigate the device because the notifications will continously pop up one after the other.

While this is true, I think it should work for apps that don't start automatically. As long as the particular app isn't used it won't bother, I guess.

Yes, depending on the app. Then again, Google play services update checks for the installed apps might get a little screwy when the card is removed. Only one way to find out, try and hope it works.

Question Can't access the formatted SD card as internal or remove it.

I formatted my microSD card as internal storage . I couldn't find the microSD card anywhere in the settings and MIUI can't see it and it's storage system starts to malfunction . when I remove the microSD card MIUI gave me this notification like every Android does but the problem is I can't make MIUI forget the microSD card . how can I make MIUI forget it ? Is factory reset necessary ?
Try the SD card in different device, it might be damaged.

No they still is working fine. I tried 2 different SD cards and the same problem happen with them in MIUI only.
This app can fix it.
