Newbie here. Samsung S Advance - Questions here :( - General Questions and Answers

i've been planning to update my S Advance to official XXLE2 Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware Value Pack Update cause as far as i know only selected countries have it, unluckily our country (Philippines) is not selected.
My kernel

Baseband

it might help
So, what do you think? Is it recommended? Should i give it a try or should i wait for the update to be official here in Phillipines? Will it be available at OTA? What do you suggest? What benefits will i get if i update it? Is it compatible here in PHILIPPINES? Help please THANKS!
BTW i have a problem about connecting my i9070 via usb(kies). I've already downloaded the Samsung Kies latest version and it works at kies via wifi. But when it comes to via usb, it doesn't. Any idea?
THANKS FOR THE HELP. IM NEW IN THIS FORUM AND I DON'T KNOW IF I'M IN THE SUBJECT. THANKS

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Upgrade

Hello all, I have a Galaxy S that is unlocked, i have been trying to install Android 2.2 using the latest Kies software, but all i keep getting is the following.
Current Ver: 2.1 - Update, PDA:JF3 / Phone:JF3 / CSC:JE5 This version of the device cannot be updated.
My wife has the same phone on the Orange Network, this updated straight away with no problems, and works just fine.
I was wondering if it is the fact that if the phone is unlocked, and the update is not possible. We live in the UK. Any help would be greatfully received.
Thank You
I was hoping that this would be the Forum that would have least given a reply to my thread, but it seems not so. I notice that over 200 hundred people have looked at the question.
I live in hope than an answer will be forthcoming, even if somebody tells me to go away.
What kind of Galaxy S do you have?
You can do the registry hack for kies to change your product code and update to the generic rom, however I believe this hack has been patched for the most recent version of kies. I'll see if I can find a link to the hacking guide for you.

Update Problem

Hi guys,
I am having some problems with updating my Samsung Galaxy S 2's firmware. The only problem is that Kies says I have the latest firmware PDA:KE2, but I know that KE7 is out WTF!!!
The only think I did to it is just to root it, but I thought updates should still work ...
Any suggestions would be highly appreaciated
Thanks
Ok, I actually found out why this is happening - It seems that Samsung hasn't offered any release for my country for the moment and instead of having a beautiful KE7, we have KE2 here for now
My question would be now if any1 of you knows where to get and to manually install KE7 for SGS2
Thanks
Ok, sorry for this thread, I am an idiot. I found all the answers on this forum
Thanks GUYS !

[Q] Samsung GT-i5800 upgrading firmware

Hi
I am new to the Forums and have looked through the threads for Samsung GT-i5800 and unrooting/firmware, etc. But I cannot find any current links to update the firmware on my Samsung GT-i5800 to Froyo or anything higher then eclair.
Sorry for posting in the wrong place, if I am, I have tried to post in the relevant threads but cannot.
Are there any current downloads links I can use to update the firmware? every one I have tried asks me to download iLivid Player which I have already done.
Should I just give up and buy a more recent android phone from ebay?
Thanks for your help.

Have you tried upgrading it with samsung kies?
Is your mobile rooted and do you want to unroot it (as you said that you looked for unrooting/firmware)?
Anyway if you have nor rooted your mobile and you want to upgrade it officially to higher version firmware, download samsung kies from here:
http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP
Connect your mobile via USB to your PC and start kies. If there are any official releases for your mobile kies will notify you about it.
Backup all your data before upgrading.
For any unofficial upgrade, root etc check this link below

Hey there, i dont know much about the carrier based variants but the basic steps are the same i guess. If you're rooted then you have to flash a custom recovery from there you can flash roms. Try googling.

[Completed] What is the LG L7 II Latest software version?

I have rooted mine and put a custom rom with 4.4.2, but i'm getting notified that there is an update by LG. Does anyone know what version this update is for, as I can't find any info on it anywhere, and if it's just going to put me back on stock 4.4.2 there's no point me doing it.
Thanks

Hi, Thanks for using XDA assist
It looks like there is no dedicated forum for your device, however
There is a general forum for android here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where you can try to ask to get expert's help.
Good luck.
