[Q] playing m4v? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and was wondering if anyone knows of an app or something I can put on the Tab in order to play M4V files. I'm not having the best of luck converting to MPEG4, FLV, AVI, or 3GPP which are formats supposedly supported by the Tab (using Adobe Photoshop CS4 Media Encoder).
What are my options?

Did you try mxPlayer ?
I don't know if it supports the file format or codec you mentioned, but it never fails me.

have u try mobo player?
Vitalplayer plays nearly every Codec
Tapatalked from my Samsung Galaxy S Plus
Which version of Vital Player
Thanks for reply
WHich version of Vital Player [ Vital Player or Vital Player Neon or Vital Player Neon Pro?]
Also does it work for big avi files such as movies and does audio and video remains in sync for huge movie files ?
Thanks
I use the normal Vitalplayer and watched several movies with it. I have not found an issue of asynchronities between sound and pictures. If you have this issue, you can try other setting of codec.
Cheers

New Codec-Or some setting changes
Hi,
When you say get new codec setting you mean get new software codec [Other PLayer that supports codec] right ?
Thanks,
MIlind
When u start Vitalplayer and press options > decode mode you can change between auto detection and hardware and software. Try software encoding to get perhaps a solution to your problems. If this doesnt work i cant help you, sorry. With my videos everything works fine.

A player to play ".mkv" files?

Hey guys, As the topic says I've been looking for a .mkv player which runs the videos smooth and perfect on our GFit!...I've tried using MX VIDEO PLAYER & QQ PLAYER but the quality was not good and the video lags!...Can anyone provide a better option?Actually its a 349 MB File of Twilight - Breaking Dawn Part-I, and I love all the movies of the Twilight sequel! ...So any help would be appreciated!
Mkv...
Even I wanna know...want to watch "The Dirty Picture" :O
Typed on a small touchscreen
Hi, i too have been confronted to these .mkv files. Been told that they would be normal video format files but embedded with subtitles. Annyway, use VLC Media Player if on pc, and MX Player for Android. I loaded the standard "mx player" on Google Play. Should you face any issues, look up for the available codecs (aimed for diff. specific processors architecture) and take the one for your device. Got an ARMv7 and i didnt have to load the codecs up to now. Hope this help and didnt annoyed, kinda noticed the lenght of my thread just now...

Editing mp4 video

I am used to using VideoPad to edit videos but now i have the Samsung S3 I am unable to edit the mp4 video in that program. Windows MOvie Maker doesnt work either. What do you guys use?

P5113 doesn't want to play some videos

Hi everyone. Recently I bought a new GT P5113. In all the tablet reviews they say that it can play easily almost all AVI, MKV, MP4 etc video files, but when I try to play them with the stock video player I get a message that video is not supported. I dont think that this is normal.
My tab is running the latest firmware update from Samsung ULGB2 4.0.4 or sth like that. Any ideas, except installing 3rd party players? Somebody else with the same problem?
Thanks!
what files exactly wont play and are they stored locally?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bsplayer.bspandroid.free&hl=en
try bsplayer, it should hardware playback files with a HW onscreen to let you know.
It plays all my upnp hosted video files just fine, i had some issues with streamed files with the stock player. assuming my p3110 uses the same decoding process.
Thanks for the info. It wont play divx and xvid avi files, also it doesnt want to play mkv and mp4, which is completely strange. The files are stored on the externsl microsd. I wonder if i need to make a hard reset...
Edit: BSplayer plays videos only in SW mode
