I've tried all/most of them and have had either horrible battery life and/or other major issues.
Running CM9 now, rc, and it's been great. Thanks.

I'm using the unofficial nightlies, only have freezing issues, but that's about it really.
Mind Majic has one called orthrus in the dev section I hear is very stable
Sent from my two cents which ain't worth much.

Can't really expect jb roms to be stable yet as this whole jelly bean thing for our device is in early alpha stage. If you're looking for stability, I'd suggest gb/ics based roms

This is very much like a best thread and is not acceptable
Also there is a jellybean talk thread making this thread unneeded

I saw the XDA article about the leaked stock SGS3 rom and I was wondering if its even possible to port to the Skyrocket. I don't know that much about the hardware differences but I'm sure someone else here does and perhaps I'm not the only one wondering if its compatible, not compatible, or compatible but with effort.

Would it be more a hardware capability issue for our phones or simple incompatability?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
There very well maybe possibilities of a port. Just give it time.
Software should be fairly easy. S-Voice works on 4.0.4 but some features are a bit hit/miss

don't know about all the rest but the latest sky ics is staying on my phone for a while...its solid!
I bounce between 3,
SKYics 4.2E-9
AOPK
Cyanogenmod Alpha 4
All are solid roms, absolutely zero complaints from any of these

+1 cm9 all the way

I have used CM9, AOKP, Smooth ICE and Sky ICS. I flip flopped between CM9 alpha3 and Sky for a couple of weeks, but now with CM9 alpha4, I think I'll be staying with it. It suits my aesthetic sensibilities, and it works for my use case. All of the other ROM's work fine, there is no 'top' ROM, it's really a matter of what you want, and what the ROM's provide. They are all good in their own way.
I hope this helps us towards getting ICS/JB on the G2X

No doubt about cm10.1 on our phone now.
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
looked like the developers were getting hung up on the RIL before, so this should speed up the development process quite nicely
I was considering getting a new phone, but this changed my mind. I always wondered why such a powerful phone had such lame roms like gingerbread

Weird thing is, a lot of people are reporting slow and buggy phones. However, some people are also reporting that their phones are smooth and that they have great battery life (optimus 2x forums)

I'd say we just may have a chance at Key Lime Pie.. That is only if developers stick around long enough with the trusty P99x.

Search the forums, it's pretty obvious the devs are trying to work on this, it isn't readily available.

It's pretty much 98% the same as Sprint, but there are differences in the buildconfig.
Pro tip: Samsung is eager to give you sources once an OTA comes out. Don't bother doing FOSS requests for leaks.

Not on a US model, it's been released on some international models though

I wouldn't expect Premium Suite until March or something.
Will this help people developing AOSP ROMs like CM10.1 or AOKP or will this mostly be of help to TW ROM makers? Mainly asking as I am debating between keeping my Nexus or GS3 aand at this point I am leaning towards Nexus because CM10.1 runs better on it, but if this will help us maybe the GS3 will surpass the Nexus.
Looks like there might be a quicker fix coming for premium

That's for the international model which has completely different hardware.
No North American S3 can use that.
Porting is very impractical if not outright impossible. People have tried, it can't be done.
Developers at Android Police have already been picking apart 4.3. It's available for install on S4.
Have any Infuse developers started playing with it yet?
Omg! I can't wait!

You mean the 5.0? Personally I don't think there's more to 4.3 than a few cosmetic touches here and there.. Can't wait to see what's in stock for 5.0, I read it somewhere that will compatible with low end devices. And here's hoping this brilliant phone can handle it.

Shouldn't say that even if no one still likes GB, I'm glad wolfen likes GB, I wish more infuse ppl would use GB and ICS a side of JB. Only if the infuse had a boot loader...

Dont get me wrong, it was way ahead of its time. But compared to now, it plain sucks. I wasnt being arrogant, just stating by todays standards. Trust me, I appreciate gb and without it we wouldnt be anywhere
Sent from my Note 2 using Tapatalk 4
The original purpose of this thread was simply an appreciation that 4.3 is now leaked, which means it's only a matter of time before we see it available for other smart phones, regardless of whether its changes are big or small. The same goes for 5.0.
That's the beauty of open source. While some are more comfortable staying with GB, many get the benefits of what's available in the new releases. Very glad for that.
And very grateful for our developers who give their time freely to benefit a much larger community.
I'm definitely looking forward to the new notifications API in 4.3. I hope it comes soon, so that my liveview (Sony Smartwatch predecessor) can actually be useful.
Carbonrom Is
Carbonrom is currently coding android 4.3. I'm 99% sure it'll be for the infuse. A nightly will be available soon, hopefully.
I loaded 4.3 CM10.2 a few days ago. Totally awesome. Andros11 mentioned he'll have CarbonRom out in a few days.

Evidently, the Carbon 4.3 was released prematurely and was taken back down. Fortunately, I put it on my wife's Infuse and it has been preforming flawlessly! As a matter of fact, it seems that 4.3 runs much better than 4.2 ever did.
