New to nexus a 4g what ROM to flash - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey I just left my epic 4g for this Phone and wondered which ROM has the best options. I loved AOKP on my epic but wondered what jb roms y'all prefer. Or should I stay on stock Jb?

Just go to Nexus S 4g Development thread and start flashing. Then decide for yourself...

It's all really a preference, I like rasbeanjelly but some would say it doesn't have enough options. Ya just gotta dive in and try different ROM kernel combos and see which u like the best.

For root use the stickies at the top of the development subforum. For sense, buy an HTC phone. Its all AOSP here, the point of this phone is to have stock Android. Please familiarize yourself with the search feature or do some good old reading.

Sense is also closed source afaik, so you can't just port it. You need to rebuild it.
Apreichner is trying to do this btw

The purpose of rooting your phone is so YOU can try out each rom and YOU can decide what YOU want, no one can make those decisions for YOU. Honestly, everyone will swear by the ROM they like so the only way to know is by testing them yourself.
shameless plug before the lock, BinDroid has been the absolute best.
both. have fun flashing
There is no better or best rom. Only what works best for you. Each device and how we use them are different. I could say XYZ rom is the best but you get lag and battery drain.
A search would have told you this.

Hi it's best to try out several roms for yourself and see which suits you best. This question is really subjective because everyone has a different opnion. I personally love the jelly bean rom called paranoid Android by Dragun. It's awesome and has great development! You can make your phone a hybrid of a tablet if you wish. It's got a wonderful panoramic camera, lots of great stuff. but others might not agree and have there own favorite. So try out several and see what YOU think. Don't forget to do your nandroid backups before so you can restore your original rom if you get in a pinch. Have fun, experiment, try new things! You will soon discover which is your favorite. And that's what matters. Which one YOU like. Best wishes and happy flashing.

Realsis makes a good point, its all about what you like.
Personally, I like Cyanogenmod since it is really fast and relatively lightweight compared to a Sense rom. Try it out.
Realsis is right. Try a few and see what YOU like

Whats a good rom with Jelly bean for my sensation 4G
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
It's all a matter of opinion. I personally like paranoid Android by Dragun. It's jelly bean. Smooth, fast, stable, and amazing. But this again is only my opinion. Try for yourself and form your OWN opinion. That's the best way. I
Can't tell you what you like and what you don't, you must find that out for yourself! Do some experimenting and find YOUR favorite.

Alright if it supports jelly bean alright

Yes it's jelly bean and it's surprisingly stable. I love it! I tried jelly bean in there form of paranoid Android by dragun korr. And now I'm hooked! Also on that particular rom you can make your phone a tablet, or a phone tablet cross or just regular if you like. Tons of available customization! You can read or watch the video how to do it if you choose that rom. I use it as my daily driver. There development is very active and it's smooth like butter. I'm using there kernel 3.0.50 and I have excellent battery life! I've been very pleased with it. Give it a try and see what you think.

Thank you i got it working a while ago & i got my rom but i dont have any Googleapps no play store no contacts none where do i get it
Do a quick search for the gapps. You'll find them in no time. Then after you have downloaded the flashable zip just boot into your chosen recovery and flash the zip. There is normally a gapps link in your roms OP. Hope this helps.

[Q] best rom for good battery and good performance

Ok im wanting to try to flash a rom again. Its been awhile that i've been using stock because i've had to replace my phone like 2 times already and i think it might've been cause of roms. But i want to try flashin a rom again. So i wanted to kno what u guys think is the best rom for good battery and good performance.
If you want to stay with the stock-look, threading sensation rom is a very good compromise between battery and performance. If you want android stock you can try bruce's cm10 or opensensation2

I'm using superthreading sensation rom a llittle bit edited by me. It's a good sense rom, very fast even at 1188 mhz.

Can u link me to the rom and i just install it with all the defaults in setup?
I'm using a senseless rom called paranoid Android. I get excellent battery life, it's fast, smooth like butter and stable. It also has lots of customisation available. I use it as my daily rom. Do yourself a favor and try out several different roms because if you don't your selling yourself short. There could be something out there that's just perfect for you but you will never know unless you try. Do a nandroid backup and you can restore easily to your previous rom. But you really need not just take opnion. You should see for yourself because what one person likes, might not be for you. So I Highly suggest trying out several before you decide on what your going to use as you're daily rom. Do give paranoid Android a try. It's a great rom with active development! Remember it's all about what suits YOUR needs and you won't know what's available unless you try out different ones. This is solid advice. I do hope you take it. If not your selling yourself short. You really need to experience for yourself what's available. That's the fun part! I wish you the best. Happy flashing.
