Guys I am a complete noob
and i am bored by the orignal look of android
I need something new
My friend also has an android phone. So he rooted that deodexed, new rom
So i need to ask can i root this phone ?
Which rom is the best to install after rooting ?
i upgraded my phone to xxkpq with my friends help. Now i dont know what to do?
So please help me
hey dude u can try to install. a good kernel with cwm (clock work mod)....a very important tool to customize your phone....then download a custom rom of your choice from the development section (see that ur firmware matches that of the rom) ....follow the instructions there and you will have a full customized phone as most c-roms are pre rooted and deodexed .....when you learn more and get used to the phone you can try miui or cm (but that is for later ...) .......since ur on kpq u can try Poseidon or vurrut roms (Ive used them and they're nice)....
Its Simple
i am using Poseiden's ROM
How to Install it :-
Backup ur apps, Contacts, Messages.
a) U'll need CWM (i use [CF-Root] by Ganesh u get here for XXKPQ)
1) Flash this *.tar file as a PDA in Odin
b) Downlad Poseiden ROM from here or here
1) Copy this zip file to ur external SD Card
2) Goto Recovery Mode Install the zip file from ur external SD Card
3) after installation setup will reboot to recovery mode, wipe Cache & DALVIK CACHE
Done
Can i install miui or,cm7 ? My friend has miui and i like it very much

You have been an RC , so you should help us .
1-What' the recovery partion in the Official ICS and GB ?? mmcblk0p** (Since I don't have this phone I can't know them) .
2-I have followed your Tutorial to edit LG's firmware ,, but in the step when root the *.img file , how to return that image into *.bin ??
3-How to replace recovery like what xbsall did (in bootv21e.bin) ??
4-In V20a.kdz of P880 Optimus 4X ,, when I run :-
Code:
LGExtract -kdz ****.kdz
Then I get a *.cab file ,, extract it then find a *.DZ ?? In P920 kdz I find *.wdb (then extract it into *.bin) .
Thank you berni for your support to LG-P920 and for this EXCELLENT idea .

1. In all o3d partitions layout it's mmcblk0p6
2. Just open the edited img in hexeditor select everything copy it then select in the bin from offset to size off given by the extract tool and then paste it in there
3. Same as above open rec.img in hex editor select and delete the recovery file in the bin(everything is given by the extract tool) and paste in the new rec
4. Don't know much about dz files but take a look in l9/7/6 not sure which one there's a kdz Rom and the guy linked to a tool which extracts dz files if I remember right

It's to check if your backup is corrupted and to save you from unnecessary reflashing. If you're not planning to modify your backup , you should't disable it.

Berni, there's a few developer-related questions I wanna ask before I develop my first Android firmware ROM.
1. Is even a Java file context-sensitive? And if it is, should a simple change be checked against the other source that links to it?
2. Is it difficult to add in some framework / library outside the Android source codes?

To 1 no but most libraries are built of pretty much code (libwebcore is some gigs big) and are difficult to port to other android version(opposite is libwebcore which is pretty easy). Many libs should work on same android versions but many don't

Hello friends,
This thread is closed and its moved here
Visit my website http://www.getcooltricks.com/ for other cool stuffs like
Smart Phone Flash Tool (SPFT) Tutorial, Changing the boot logo in MediaTek Smart Phones, Install ADB drivers for Connecting any Android Device ( MORE ).
Thread is completely changed and I want you guys to have a look at it.
After taking a lot of effort I present you the first mod for celkon A97i. And to your knowledge no custom mods found for celkon A97i in this whole xda forum.
What are the features of this mod??
1) Battery mods
2) Viper for android audio effects
3)Custom fonts
4)custom boot logo
5)Custom BootAnimation
6) Customized System UI and Framework.apks(the screenshots are provided)
And your Customized cwm update is here
Old version of custom recoveries are still in the op as xda attachment. If you want you can use that also. But that is no more needed as i had already ported the latest releases of the CWM, TWRP and COT and Carliv touch recovery which is the modified CWM modded for touch .
your latest recoveries are here
1) latest Release CWM v 6.0.4.0 (new)
2) TWRP v2.6.3.0
3) COT v2.1.5
4) CTR_v.1-cwm_v6.0.4.0 (new)[/SIZE]
For aroma file integeration into the new recovery that's the latest carliv touch look at the main thread here
Friends I made with a lot of effort please don't redistribute it. There are only very few celkon A97i users in the forum. You can redirect them to this page.
NOTE
All the files are checked to be working cent percent in my Celkon A97i. I'm not responsible if your mobile get bricked during the process. But it wont happen. None of my releases bricked any mobile. So no fear. Start flashing your phone. The screen shots of this mod is found belo. Have a look at it.
Special Instructions
With this update i've included the best android audio effect Fx manager VIPER4Android FX audio effect. It gives the best audio quality i've ever listened. Dont forget to turn off your default equilizer (Music FX) before using this. If you need any assistance you can view its official page here
And please read the second post
