i was using ARHD 6.7.2 XE with yank kernel was working fine till i decided to flash darkforest rom. i superwipe my phone and install it using aroma with bricked kernel and now im stuck at htc screen
re-flash the ROM again ..this time use wipe from 4EXT (wipe|format -> format all partitions except sdcard)
maybe you have to flash the boot.img manually
if you have 4ext recovery enable smartflash and then flash the rom again(if you are S-ON?)
or flash the boot.img following extra1 from this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
edit: or do what ganeshp said

i did:
1. Download cm-9.1.0-pyramid.zip & gapps-ics-20120429
2. This 2 files i did add on SD Card
3. Turn off the phone, and turn in recovery mode
4. Make an backup file
5. Wipe factory/reset
6. Install Zip from sd FIRST "cm-9.1.0-pyramid.zip", Then "gapps-ics-20120429"
7. Restart phone
8. And then stuck in boot screen and then don't want to go on :/
Sorry for my bad english :/ does anyone know how to fix this and what is wrong
you installed the rom right ?
i guess you are SON and did HTC-DEV unlock
then immediately do the extra 1 strep from this guide (you need to use the boot.img present in the the cm9 rom zip file)

good ...and now its better to change the recovery to 4EXT ..it helps you in the process ..you need not flash boot.img separately when using 4EXT recovery
installing 4EXT recovery will be a breeze to you now ...do the step #5 from the guide I've linked earlier ..and next time you can simply flash roms like any other SOFF people
also ..thanks ..you do it via thank button---the xda way

Don't worry mate! I also had the same issue with some KitKat ROMs. That's normal.
quite simple solution is: Go to Recovery and Flash another ROM! that's it.

probably you will need them
Sorry to hijack this thread. I've been pulling my hair out with the same issue as well when trying to install 4.4.2 roms. stuck at the HTC screen. I have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540521 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623494. The only one that works is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530073.
I am S-OFF with 3.33.
Any help would be appreciated.
try to wipe all data info (cache , partition and dalvik) than install ROM and gapps, should be fine, remember to perform it with fully charged battery, and i dont think i have to mention that you would do backup ? (when you get working ROM you might use nandroid software to create COMPLETE backup of your system - including ROM, so if something goes wrong , you can restore everything), hope that helps

I have done what you said but no luck i.e. wipe cache and dalvik and with fully charged battery.. I have a nandroid back up so that's what I have been going back to every time the rom has not been installing.

This is what I don't understand. when doing all the usual wiping steps (including formal all partitions). I also used the boot.img from the rom but no luck. question, at what point, should I be flashing the boot.img? wipe steps, flash rom, flash gapps and then boot.img via fastboot?

try with vipers rom 5.1.0
lots of tweaks
you will love it i think
before flashing the rom
make a nandroid just in case from 4ext
format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
enable smartflash from 4ext(because you are on S-ON)
flash the rom
done
by the way i suggest to update 4ext recovery to the latest version
download and install 4ext updater
from the app install the latest version of 4ext
link in my signature

don't judge the battery exactly after flashing the rom
give 4-5 circle charges until it settles down
then see how the battery behaves
Hello,
I have downloaded the ViperS 5.1. ROM long time ago (half a year or smth.) it worked like a dream. Now out of nowhere my phone just goes off, and as I switched it on it was in a bootloop.
I can access the 4ext recovery menu I tried reinstalling the ROM from SD-card from a Zip-file, but still no effect. Like I said it is now a very long time since I dealt with phone flashing and custom firmware (and english is not my native language) and I did found a lot of treads about a simillar issues but I just did not understand the solution process, so sorry for making another one of those.
If u r s-on then enable smart flash in 4ext, n also doa full wipe, alternativly u can flash liberty kernel, download from liberty kernel thread n after wiping cache n dalvick flash.kernel
