[Q] 3.0.42 kernel - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Is there a 3.0.42 kernel for AT&T Skyrocket that works with AOKP roms? The battery life on 3.0.41 seems to suck and I have had the same battery issues with 3.0.41 on another phone, until 3.0.42 kernel came out

Try instigator Ox's 6.3.4. I ran this with it

does stock AOKP kernel have additional governors like interactivex, smartassv2, lagfree and I/O schedulers? because i'm not a fan of ondemand or any other default JB governors...

impressive

That is pretty sick on a JB ROM, I'm pushing for a typical 8-10 hours but have started changing from the default governor and also running PA, perhaps it is time to test out AOKP.

Bugless Beast Pixel Edition + Franco Kernel.
As a noob who has tried many combo, this is most stable and fast.
air kernel
I use Brainmaster's CM9 with Matrix 19.0
Its very stable, and pretty smooth.
I've used CyberGR v10, but i prefer Brainmaster's Rom over his. (had a lot of issues with his Rom)
Will try these. You can suggest more combos and links please. Thanks alot

it means that your phone cant handle the 1.44ghz cpu oc and 240mhz(20%) bus/gpu oc. not many phones can. every phone is different. some can oc high, some not so high, and some not at all. unfortunately, even though its the same phone, they can vary widely in performance.
aokp + matr1x
+1 derek.
AOKP build33 with Matr1x
AOKP B32 with air kernel. Runs quite nice. Although battery lasts only about 12h. On b31 with matr1x kernel I reached 15+h on my i9023 but it got unstable due to liveoc.
I like aokp a lot, but I am not sure about which is the best kernel. I think with the next milestone I will do a systematical test series.

I used system tuner to see how far I could lower my volts then created a script that runs at boot to set the voltages. You could also have system tuner do it for you on boot. I just like to make thing complicated :silly:

Thanks rohan, the issue was lulzactive governor causing the reboots after sleep. I am going to try and figure it out the issue because I want to add lulzactive to the governors.
Sweet! Something new to play with!
Does this kernel support sweep2wake and all of the other features of rohan.kernel?

Can anyone explain to me why Dirty Rom is in the Android Dev sub forum and not the OG Android Dev sub forum?
In the future, It might be a good idea to post which Linux kernel version each download is for, that way your users know, for sure, If the current nightly is compatible with your kernel. Just a thought!
I'm glad to see some variety beginning to crop up in the evita aosp kernel scene

For some reason this kernel didn't like my phone. Kept freezing no matter what governor I set it to.
Using interactivex kernel. For the past few hours seems really good and stable. I'll report more tomorrow. Latest cm10 nightly 11/19
Thanks for the kernel, exactly what I was looking for, a stock kernel with enhancements, no oc and excessive tweaks. Thanks man!

[Q] antutu benchmark test arrgg!!

I did a bench mark test using antutu, my nexus s that was currently running paranoid 2.54 and marmite 7.1.3 came up with a very humble score of 3138 , compared to others that was 4000 and higher,, how do they do that? I wish i could optimize my phone like that.

Governor: Performance, I/O Scheduler: Deadline
I also got i9023 btw.

[Q] Kernels for TW Roms

What kernel are most people using for their TW roms?
Im running Clean Rom 5.5.1 and using stock kernel seems pretty good but wondering if there is any benefit to using a modded kernel.
Also please provide links to the kernels your using or have heard of.
Why don't you read the OP of a kernel thread?

Well there is really only 2 options. Leankernel or KT747. I use KT747 simply for the governors and the underclocking to 96mhz. They both perform just as good as the other from what I notice so I guess its preference. Leankernel only lets you undervolt to 800mv too iirc, thats another reason why I go with KT747. Benefit is perfomance and battery saving. Undervolting will let you save a lot battery and you should see more fluidity thru your rom with a custom kernel too.
I use ktk and lk, generally whichever one has the latest update. Right now it's ktk for aosp and lk for tw. They both blow my socks off with performance and battery life.

Didnt Faux abandon his mainline kernel? Not sure why he sticks to 3.0.31 where as KT747 and LK are upto 3.0.56 kernel. Not saying Faux is a bad kernel, Ive ran it before too,

Why is my phone so unstable?

I ran a stability test on my phone and it only lasted for a minute and a half, it had ran both the cpu's fully once for each core and all the ram 23 times.
Im using a stable version of the CM10 4.2.2 rom with the sultan kernal. Ive tried many roms before so changing wont help also it isnt a battery fault as i purchased a new one and still the same problem.
Is there a way that i can make this better? i heard undervolting it can help
Any help is greatly appriciated
