Like me, do you you have the white page bug in Google Chrome ?
Everything is fine then you open a page, and nothing is displayed in every tabs.
It's just fixed by close the tabs or the browser.
If you don't have this bug, please mention your firmware version.
nothing to do with firmware have it on all tabs and my gnex... it something that happens to ff as well but rarely. only dolphin works so far. kinda annoying since i dont really like dolphin

It never happens on my SGSII only on my A700.
Since the latest Chrome update yesterday, this bug is less frequent but still happens. I tried to disable sync but not helped.
I've got this bug with chrome, too. But Firefox beta is running well!

Firefox beta is awesome. My favorite browser on the tablet. Chrome has had this blank page issue since day 1 for me.
I reported this error on the official Google Chrome forum, let's hope it will be fixed one day.
Sorry can't post any outside links, but google for "chrome bug 113204". So you can find the corresponding bug report for chrome "Always shows blank page/screen on HTC One X + other Tegra2/3 devices".
You have to star the bug. Bug reports with more stars, get a higher priority.
The bug was also in the last 2 versions of chrome. My guess, is that the GPU acceleration for chrome causes the white tab/page.

Thank you for the info, it seems to be a Tegra GPU acceleration so.

I'm getting them quite frequently, maybe three or four times a day.
Is it just me? if it is, I'm happy to wait for HC fixes. I just don't want to have dodgy RAM or something.

I had it with RAC traffic UK every time i used it, Dolphin HD crashed, but that was about it, i just thought that they were not compatible yet and unistalled them.
I hear that Dolphin now works OK
Not that many at all. That asus widget zine or zein force closes when I use it though.

Just noticed today that I consistently get FC's when choosing "edit" from the gallery menu.
Get occasional fc from the launcher
And have had some other glitches. Occasionally tapatalk while scrolling here the text streaks into a blur an is unreadable ...
i got it 3-4 times when using Firefox in the first hour after opening it out of the box -- uninstalled firefox and havent seen it .
i get tons of crashes with the stock browser. sadly i like it so much that i'll deal with it for now until miren gets fixed to work with hc.

is stock browser the one that comes with it by default?, I Like that browser too although i like to use firefox to have adblock plus..but FF crashes too much, i tried twice.
20 times a day plus with the browser.
Not much else crashes, browser all the time, I blame flash.
All stock, but updated.
I get FC pretty often with the USA Today app and once with email, but that's about it.
Browser crashes a couple of times everyday. I hope they fixed it in 3.1
I just updated Opera to the last version and now it crashes as soon as I open it.
Anybody else ?

me too.I reinstall to old backup.
Crashes for me as well.
It is crashing for me too. I also just restored the last version from my Titanium Backups. I am very pissed at the people over at Opera though. I clicked on the "E-mail developer" link that is on the Opera Mobile page in the Android Market and sent them them an e-mail letting them know that the new release was crashing (also explaining exactly how it was crashing). I received a reply back telling me that they were rejecting my e-mail because I was not a premium (paid) user and therefore could not submit an e-mail to them. This is insanity! They broke it with their new release and users whether they are premium users or not should be able to notify them that there is a problem with the new release. As far as I am concerned, they have blown it with me. Time to switch to Dolphin. Hopefully more people will do the same. I understand the whole premium support concept and do not have an issue with that type of support model as long as non-premium users still have an outlet to report bugs or issues with the software. They need to learn a lesson here.

Got the same mail after contacting the official Opera support address.
But I still reported the problem in the dedicated Opera Mobile for Android bug report form where they sent me. After that I got a mail from another support address I could contact and write my issue more detailed. And today I got anther mail that asked me to record a log with alogcat pro and send it so they could see the problem.
Not that bad support in my opinion, I hope it will be fixed soon.
the same me yesterday, now i'm using dolphin.
Working now
I do not know if they published a new version, but yesterday I downloaded it again and is working fine. One thing I noticed is that the Opera splash page at startup now shows for a lot less time.

Hm, the update didn't solve the problem for me.
None of what I'll tell you make sense but try this :
-go to manage application -opera mobile and clear data - force stop and uninstall opera
- if you have any other browser make sure that none of them is selected as the default browser
- install Ninesky Browser ( this really makes no sense)
- browse a couple of pages with it
-turn your tablet off and then on again
- install opera mobile again
- reply to my post telling me that my suggestion was pure BS

Very strange. But I even tried this, no success of course.
But you said turn turn your tablet off and then ln again - did you have the problem on your tablet and solved it that way)? On my tablet (Transformer, still running Android 3.2.1, Opera works great, the black scree only occurs on my Defy running Android 4.0.3.
I would not know what I exactly did to end up with a working opera. But I know for sure that I uninstalled it and reinstalled it a couple of times. It was still not working and for this reason I went back to dolphin hd and eventually to that Ninesky Browser. A couple of days later I gave it a try again (could not stand any other browser) and voilà, it installed and worked flawlessly. That's why I even thought that maybe a new version came up.
EDIT : it's official, it was Opera fault and a new version was indeed published few days later. Version 11.5.5 is on the market since February 1st clearly stating that it fixes problems with Opera crashing at start on the galaxy tab 7.0 and galaxy tab 7.7
It solve in new release.
It usually happens while I'm typing, dolphin just closes without any force closing notice or anything like that and then when I open the browser again it starts over instead of opening the pages I was on before it closed. It is getting annoying cuz it is my default browser and I've never had any problems with it on my phone so I started wondering if it acts funky on tablets or maybe some apps I'm using on the tablet interferes with it like maybe go launcher which seems a little bit buggy but never have any problems with the 2 apps on my phone...
So I'm just wondering if anyone else had experienced this with dolphin on their tablet? I have a feeling not all apps that have been made for phones are going to go perfect with bigger screened tablets? The tablet is rooted but I'm using the stock ROM.

I've that problem too. Dolphin quit on specific Web page (forum) and I discovered that the default android browser has the same problem
It's specific to gtab 7+ and maybe his honeycomb version.
Using an other Brower (Opera Mobile) is a solution.

I've experienced similar issues with dolphin as well as other browsers. I generally get random closes if I have too many tabs open or load up a thread with too many full sized images. But then I have also experienced random closes when doing light browsing as well, but that occurs much less frequently.

ditto, I have had better luck with Firefox beta. Looking foward to the ICS update, wondering if i should just wait or go downloadI? would like to find a better tap/keyboard. I love my tab 7.0 plus. But typing on my Asus transformer is much easier.
I have stopped using dolphin actually.. apart from the random closing i have also found that it (or one of the modules that come bundled with it) uses battery a lot in the background and tend to open network connection and transfer data ever when the phone is supposed to be in sleep..
and the random network usage stopped after i uninstalled dolphin..
I haven't had this problem at all. I use dolphin all the time. Also used Floating Browser, Overskreen, Firefox and Chrome. Have not experienced FCs.
In case you decide to stop using Dolphin, have a look at UC browser.
It has nice gesture support and has received a lot of positive reviews recently.
From reviewing the Chromium logs, I now know what is causing Chrome for Android to lag on certain websites. It is caused by a functionality in Chrome Android called FlingCancel that is triggered at the start of a touch event, if the acknowledgement is not received it gets moved from the compositor thread to the webkit thread, but the browser is still waiting for the FlingCancel acknowledgement before it sends the touch response.
This explains why some reviews thought that the very powerful Nexus 4 & 10 were laggy when web browsing. I'm glad Google has found the cause, although they have only marked it as a priority 2, no Google smoothness is always priority 1
The good thing is that issue is marked for resolution in version 23. All the issues marked for version 23 are listed as fixed or not fixed, nothing is currently assigned or to be reviewed, this shows that Chrome Android 23 is in an advanced state of readiness, and could be released this week to match the launch of the Nexus 4 & 10 & Android 4.2. Anyway, if the patch is successful and Chrome 23 or whatever resolves the issue, I hope the reviews get updated to reflect the improved browser!

Nice detective work, suprrised Chrome peeps took so long to get it right.
Good info OP!
I've had to give up using Chrome on my GS3 due to the scrolling lag. It amazes me they'd use it as the default browser on their flagship devices with this issue still present!
Since I don't have it installed I can't tell if this update has been pushed yet. Anyone know? If so, did it resolve the issue?
good digging! i've always noticed that the stock browser works more smoothly than chrome on some websites... i guess this explains why
hope google fixes this

Sure will do, as soon as Google drop the update for Chrome Android 23 the issue should be fixed.
I'm getting quite angry at how slowly big G is updating Chrome, I recently found a chromium log that references an issue that a tester is having on their Nexus 4, running Chrome Android 25 and we are still on a laggy v18. If there is no update this week, I'll send an email off to a technical lead I've been made aware of, not that it will do much good, as they have NDA to obey, but I will heap a little polite shame on them:laugh: My suggestion to Google allow people to beta / dev test Chrome, just like on the desktop!
I'm pretty sure the reason for the delay is that they are trying to upstream all of the Android port work. This is good because it means that all of Chrome for Android will be open source and buildable by anyone. Then you can have all the betas, nightlies, etc that you want. :highfive:
In fact, we might be able to make a partially working build already.

I did a little more snooping, and found an interesting Chromium log, discussing unforking Chrome Android. It states that the goal is 'fixed' in Milestone 25, which going by Chrome desktop's 6 week release cycle will be released at the end of January 2013.
It would be great if by Q1 2013 Google had upstreamed all the Chrome Android code into Chromium, we would get the features of the former with the speed of the latest updates of the latter, it will make Android an even more attractive platform.:good:
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=136792
So when is this update coming?
I am extremely frustrated with Google because of this issue. I know it may seem petty, but on every platform I spend 90% of my time in the browser and Google is just not updating this browser. Every other browser on the market is another than this. The nexus 10 is getting horrible review scores because of it. The browser is portion the most used asp for most people i don't understand how Google could let the reputation of multiple new devices take a hit because of this. The thing I think is so frustrating for me is that I really enjoyed the stock browser that came with ICS on the gnex and ICS tablets. It was so buttery smooth. Chrome has been laggy when it comes to scrolling and pinch to zoom for so long.
After that long rant, when do you suspect the update fixing the issue you mentioned might be coming?

Just as I predicted Google has confirmed that Chrome Android will get a major update before the end of 2012, and that by early 2013 all Chrome versions will follow the same release schedule.:good:

Q. Chrome for Android is still at v18, while regular Chrome is at v23.
When will Chrome for Android catch up?
A. Soon! We expect an update to Chrome for Android starting with a developer update to happen before the end of the year, and we’re actively working towards aligning releases across all platforms, including Android, starting early next year.
Google has released Chrome Beta in Play Store.
Current Chrome version:
AppleWebKit/535.19 Chrome 18.0.1025.166
Chrome Beta
AppleWebKit/537.22 Chrome 25.0.1364.37
So to be clear, the Chrome Beta is running the lastest webkit and chrome version.
After playing around with it, I feel no huge improvements on the topic issue with lag on flings, zooming and scrolling. Chrome Beta is still not near the responsiveness of iOS Safari or Windows Phone Internet Explorer 10.

There are it seems other issues affecting the scrolling speed of Chrome Android!, namely HTML threading and the big one, side-painting. Google is going to implement features present in the smooth scrolling AOSP browser, which they call Picture Pile, employing display lists. These 2 projects are not in the the beta, but they say will be part of Chrome Android 25 - Stable. If Google manages the smoothness of AOSP browser, with the speed of the latest V8 & Webkit, as well Chrome's usual features it will be great, if not long overdue!
Chrome for android always crash on me. Give it up for now.
By the way, Chrome for Windows works perfect.
I don't think it was updated to support vsync on android 4.1 and above hence the lag.
It has the same laggy scrolling and pitching to zoom effect as the android 4.0.x browser.
Works fine on ios through, somewhat smoother than safari
I found this thread and I still think it is current. With both, Chrome and Chrome Beta I found that the (German) site www.urlaubspiraten.de is lagging. It works fine with dolphin browser. How can this still be an issue after so many months?!?

Is anyone else having issues with websites when using QHD+? It's been driving me crazy that browsing was nigh on impossible. Changed it down to FHD+ and everything seems a lot better. Same in Edge, Chrome and Brave so I assume some Chromium bug. Ad blocking on/off doesn't seem to matter.
Example of site that just goes blank when I scroll: https://uk.mous.co/products/limitle...ack-leather-phone-case?variant=40847410331705
Edit: Whoops, apparently I forgot that I already had 1080p selected and confirm the same behavior at 1440p.
