Not sure wher you are looking, because most everything you will ever need can be easily found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
Also, you can install TWRP by getting goomanager from the Play Store.

Hi I just rooted and unlocked bootloader on my HTC one x I installed twrp I flash to thuogh fast boot it loads up once fastboot installs it but once I reboot then phone and try to enter recovery it is not there I have to do the whole fastboot load again is anyone else having that or is there a fix

If you are rooted, go and download goomanager from the play store and use it to flash TWRP. Much quicker and easier than doing it through fastboot.

Slim1991 did just that and it worked, despite having tried to install the Endeavor recovery previously (I'm surprised that it worked). Of course, there is no way you would no that, since he cross posted to another thread:

The previous response asked a question that may help us determine what the problem is, but you didn't answer it.
I'm wondering the same. You said you tried to install "a few" recoveries. Where did you try to install them from?
In particular, some people are trying to install CWM for the wrong device (Tegra3 quad core) onto our version of the phone (Snapdragon S4 dual core) and messing up their phones.
I was on the onxroot web site and got it from there yeah I just checks I was flashing the qual core version of cwm and twrp I just flash twrp 2.18 or 17 I'm note sure and is working now but I'm not sure because I've see there is a beer version 2.20 I think but I try to flash it and it would not stay I would have to flash it every time I boot up

Don't flash things from random websites. Stick to the development subforum for our device. Also sounds like you may need to slow down, and do more research, before flashing anything more. People have been warned so many times against flashing things meant for the quad core One X, using CWM on our device, etc.
Not sure how to fix flashing the wrong recovery. Maybe somebody has some a suggestion.
My only idea would be to relock the bootloader and run the RUU. But not sure if that can somehow do more harm than good.
Just flash a proper recovery from hboot, then fastboot boot "nameofrecovery".img
I flash the right one already but it's a old version but when I try to flash the update twrp recovery it won't stick I have not done no harm to my phone it still works ims still using it

You may have actually done harm to the phone, since the partitioning on the Tega3 and Snapdragon versions of the phone is different. You're lucky you can boot at all after flashing the wrong recovery.
I had done a back up with the twrp recovery and once I try to boot up it would not load but like I said I have the correct twrp but all o need to know is can I flash the update one or what is the latest twrp version for my att HTC one x

I can't quite follow what state your phone is in at this point, but if you have a bootable, rooted system try installing GooManager (linked at the site I posted) and run the Install OpenRecovery Script option. Otherwise, download the boot.img and install it through fastboot. Instructions are on the site I linked.
Damnn thanks so much I downloaded goo from the play store and download the recovery script.IMG and i got the correct and updated version of twrp simple as that I just need to thank everyone on here for ur help tread is now closed

Do a clean wipe and reinstall with fastboot. I experienced this the first time and the second go round all the options worked.

Are you rooted? If so download goo manager from Google play. Hit menu, and install recovery script. And BAM! You should be good

Disclaimer: I am a noob!:cyclops: Wont understand jargon.
I tried rooting my HTC device and went through all the instructions as given by an youtube video. 'HTC One X - Root (in-depth)' by 'itvraag'
(I understand no links allowed till 10 posts but this might be an emergency! )
I am stuck at the Recovery section and am unable to get beyond the Recovery mode (screen).
The video says the next step is installing from the .zip file which I have downloaded onto my sd card.
I have got a bootloader screen which says 'Tampered' at the top. So, I guess, its not yet rooted?
I would appreciate solutions.
Thank you!:highfive:
p.s. The phone restarts in the normal At&T mode when done so and hence, its working as in stock.

This is the One S thread. Anyways, at bootloader, where it says tampered, it should also say unlocked. There is also recovery as an option in the menu. Have you flashed a custom recovery yet? If so, select recovery and use power button to select it and boot into your custom recovery. If not, select fastboot, and flash a custom recovery.

I tried to do both i.e. the Fastboot to flash a custom recovery and again into the recovery mode. I get the same HTC screen and am unable to go further.
Are there any other ways?

Dont follow crappy youtube vids.
Solutions for your problem are easy to find your just stupid =)
And posting in one S thread doesn't make you look any better.

Some how I lost root while mucking around trying to change recovery for beanstalk 4.4. I never did get it changed since I had computer issues.
Did I really lose it? And is there an easy way to get it back?

It was a CWM one in the Beanstalk 4.4 forum...was going to flash via adb, BUT I never did it because once I got into
fastboot computer stopped recognizing the phone so I gave up on it.
When flashing any recovery, make sure its the one intended for our device (EVITA not ENDEAVORU) as this is a common mistake. Although, it sounds like your problem was something different.
The official CWM is fine to use (I was using it for a while) although TWRP is more commonly used on this device. On TWRP, if the ROM you are flashing is not rooted, it will give you the option to root it when it flashes, which is pretty nice.
So I just recently got my new One X after breaking my previous one. I got it back with S-Off and changed CID which I thought was strange. I unlocked the bootloader but it seems as if recoveries won't successfully flash. I don't get an error while flashing either. I assume that because of this, I'm not able to install superuser. Any suggestions on what I could do? If more information is needed, let me know.

Bootloader details please. Exact filenames of any recoveries you've attempted to flash. Also what method you've used flash them.

I am an idiot.Simple as that. Turns out I was flashing a recovery for the One X+. It's all good now. The right recovery is flashed and SuperSU has been installed.
