The bad, the game is installed in the internal memory using 54mb and can't be moved to the SD for now!!!!
Actually, like I said in another thread made today about PoP - it's very good but can't hide buttons. And what you're talking about problem with installing on SD card? I've made it on my ROM without any problems.

Are you sure about xperia play optimised? cause i havn't see any about it in google play.Dose every physical button works? or just D-pad like some korean 2D games. Thanks
Read my post in ozzmanj1's thread. It's working with D-Pads but not fully made for Play - for example buttons still visible and no icon in Play Launcher.

He means, you can't install the game on SD Card, only internal memory. I guess that's in the paid version though.

The game downloaded 173mb of data, I think maybe some files has been installed in SD and 54mb in the internal memory.
Because of this I've uninstalled the game for less memory space.
About the controls:
The X button is jump, circle is exit, square is crouch...
You have on-screen buttons visible too? Like me?

Jump is cross and square is special move. Strange issue to have on cm9 when normal hardware buttons stop working. Normally just the pads.

You could try joystick 6 or gamekeyboard change cross (d-pad_center) to (button_A) as this game also works with usb pads.

Can anyone else comfirm this is NOT xperia play optimized? Bought it, then found that the menus are touchscreen only, and the dpad works in the game but the only button that works brings up the menu. So pressing X or any or button nothing, forgot which button it is but it brings up the menu and asks if you want to quit the game. I refunded it.

instead of refunding because button support is iffy on an unofficial rom built by hackers...why not just use joypad center 6 or gamekeyboard...? it works fine, i was playing it last night.
Dpad is the only thing working for me too. Runing stock 2.3.3 on my r800x. Might try re-installing a little later
I'm in 2.3.4 and d-pad and all buttons works great. Running in 2.3.3, it's probably your problem.

Bought it yesterday for my Xperia Play and Tablet S, purchase once in the Market, download on both devices. Now I can do multiplayer via bluetooth, no struggling with on screen controls!
However, I have the same 2.3.3 issue, control pad works but buttons do not. Will update to 2.3.4 and report back.

I'm guessing there are multiple versions. There's another thread right now where a guy said he purchase it for his R800i.
I purchased Episode 1 through the Market on my Tablet S, but when I go to look at my apps on my R800x Xperia Play it says its not available for my device.

Its an app that allows you to run the original terraria pc game on android and is fully able to map to Xperia Play hardware buttons.
Sounds like he has given up perfecting it but is 90% ready. Here is what he has left us with.

Install Perl for Windows (Strawberry)
Install Python for Windows (Python)
Install your android device’s driver and adb (Sdk)
Extract the contents of Prepare.zip
Copy “Content” directory and main executable into the folder you extracted in step one
Copy Players and Worlds from “My Saves” (your save game location) to the folder you extracted in step one
Double click or execute ConvertCopy.cmd
Run the app, make sure you select xnb for the image format. Also no need for the desktop app at this point or dropbox unless you want your saves and content to sync.

I was actually wondering about this and how would a smartphone user end up playing Terraria. Hitting those little blocks with with a pair of big thumbs seems rather hard.

Sounds like your issue is that the game conversion Sd data is not right as you should see the menu and loading screens in game at least.
Some people have been able to load on Xperia play with lazy load setting enabled but overclock and optimized ram (less installed apps or maybe use of ram manager/ supercharger v6) mite help you achieve this.

Its not the problem of starting the game itself.. I am not able to start the Branches app.. it startsup and closes after 1second on my Samsung galaxy S3.

It's not the full game but only an android .net emulator to run it on. You will need the original terraria pc game (convert it with branches tool) to be able to play which is not provided.

A little late, but...
So I know this thread is a little old, but I have a question here.
Does anyone think it would be possible to run the standalone Terraria server command line application off of an android device?
I think this would be great if I could take a somewhat older and weaker droid x2 and turn it into a terraria server host, it would greatly reduce the strain on my pc.
If no one really has an answer to that then I may just continue crawling through piles of useless search results until I find something.
if you can run the full game you should be able to do that.
By the way... how does the game control on the play? I mean, can you control the mouse with touchpads? It's not optimized, so it shouldn't work. If it doesn't, maybe gamekeyboard does. Did anyone try it out?

Its disappeared from the UK store for me. Checked on my n7, Xperia S and the wife's Note.

Some usefull things i would love to see in a future release:
- option to show preferred hosters on top
- option to automatically try the next launcher when one gives an error
- subtitle support (like unis video)
- option to vote for hosters, so one can quickly see that a hoster is bad.
- a dark theme

I would like to see it available for Google TV. I tried the link for the website but it only gives me the option to download flv player. I tried sideloading it through Google Drive and it didn't work.

The app can be translated to Italian but the contents will be always in English.
I don't have any control of the contents so it's not in my hand to add more languages.

So get it while it's there. Still love tvportal as well and devs always find a way to get the app to you.
Also for the Google tv person install loaderdroid it saves the file and than can be played with mxplayer. Or on a home computer.

There's a function inside the game to set up every gamepad you want, so it should be possible. But you must be on 4.0 or higher.
Touchpads don't work, but, as cyrax said, gamepad buttons can be configured. Little laggy in same areas, but playable.
Only thing that i don't like is that needs to be always online...

after turning it off, can we shoot with the trigger buttons? That was the real fun in playing Dead Trigger on XPlay.
I'm on ICS Original and unfortunatly, touchpads are not recognized. Any other button works.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I just wanted to mention to you guys that when I was poking around Dead Trigger 2's androidmanifest.xml file I noticed it has the launcher code set to show it as Xperia Play optimized. Now obviously this is just a holdover and nothing to get excited over I just thought it was interesting they had it in mind at one time. Wonder what would happen if I lowered the minimum required sdk version? *sigh*

When the obb file isn't present in Android/obb Dead Trigger 2 will try to download the game files from madfingers servers. I've seen it work on several devices. Try uninstalling and reinstalling just the apk and downloading the data via wifi.
Try freeze google play in Titanium Backup and play modified game for GB.
In fact Dead Trigger 2 appears in the Xperia Play game launcher once installed in ICS.
