It depends on your sound problem. Most consider the sound to be a bit low on the the newer ROMs. Both through speaker and through headphone. There are also some occasional sound routing issues, such as Bluetooth and/or headphone jack with integrated mic (like iPhone headphones). I had a worse time with sound routing issues under the CM10 nightlies than I have on EOS3 so far. CM10 alo seems to be rather laggy at the moment. I haven't found a compatible kernel to try with CM10, as opposed to standard AOSP based builds like EOS and Rayman.
To the OP, if you try EOS3 or Rayman or another AOSP JB ROM, you might try that KAT toolkit/kernel/booster/fixes. There is an audio fix for HDMI and for some other audio issues. Some are flashable seperately without the kernel, so may work under CM10, but I hadn't tried with the individual fixes.
I have installed the raymanfx Jb version. Had the same low vol issue, installed speaker boost seems to be okay now.
Is speaker boost really a bad thing fr the spkrs?
Yet to try the KAT kernel.

Bluetooth audio help
Anyone find a solution to this problem? I've got Jelly Bean running at the moment with a cm10 nightly I think it was, with a RaymanFX kernel, and I cant use my car's bluetooth with it which is bloody frustrating...especially as it pairs fine, and I hadnt even realised it is an issue!
Are there any JB susytems out there with bluetooth audio working?
Thanks guys

I have used the KAT kernel and it has solved both the low volume issue and the issue with the audio completely. It still goes out but the KAT app let's you reinitialize the DSP which fixes it.

I have b70 transformer and have recently been installing jelly bean OS's from raymanfx b1-5 cyanogen mod 10 to team eos 3 74# 76# build numbers when installed from clean wipe, the touch sound levels are up and down on both of them. After the first time it goes into deep sleep and is woke all sound is gone from touches, video playback, games and music. It has me really stumped on what it could be team eos 73 74 76 all have bad touch sound levels but over all sound is still on after deep sleep I have tried the k.a.t kernel and k.a.t audio app to rectify sound but to no avail as after Install it revert back to same problem please help as I can't chat in developers post due lack of posts

Same problem with factory firmware... but I also have the left speaker issue so I assumed it was related; guess not.
Hi,
I flashed a loudness patch on Galaxy Nexus and it works great, I wonder if there's something similar available for Nexus S? I searched the forums but couldn't find anything.
People suggest Volume+ but it doesn't work on Jellybean, Voodoo I already have but its only for headphones, not speakers.
Thanks!

Version 1.8.1 works on Jelly Bean ... I'm using it on Slim 2.7 even as we speak.

Make sure you didn't tick the option called "tune speaker for music" in voodoo. That makes the phone less loud. If you're watching video and it's not loud enough go for MX player with software sound decoder. You can tune up the volume by 100%. Hope I helped.

Yes it is ... pm if you need the apk.
When playing through headphones sounds very distorted even at low volume, speakers sound fine. What the heck is going on? Using Rayman's CM10 based ROM.

Have a look at this, it is a apk to sort this very issue.

You want to do the reinitialise FSM something like that once the app is installed.
Hope it helps.
Cheers
Hi,
Love this ROM but after last nightly 10/31/2013. I have a crackle in my bluetooth. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this.....Someone said Kernel but from the dev thread it doesnt say.
Help want to stay on this rom.
Thanks
Zack
Pandora streaming music through my Jambox all day no crackle. No problems with audio quality here. Try clean flashing again
Only issue is stutter when I turn the screen on. I was under the impression that the devs stomped that bug awhile ago because I haven't noticed it recently
I've only encountered it on latest CFX nightly with Trchd B4
Despite that minor hiccup I'm loving the battery life and smoothness on these 4.3 roms

I am having some audio glitches with Poweramp. It only seems to happen with this particular player (and since this is the player I purchased years ago I would like to use it).
Currently I am on Purity rom with Purified kernel. Every now and then my audio will 'blip', can't really explain it as it happens randomly. I have tried all of the internal tweaks and nothing.
Does anyone have a working Rom and Kernel combination that works flawlessly with poweramp they they are aware of?
Thank you!
Did you try to use the wakelock feature in Poweramp so that it stays in memory whenever it's being used?
I'm also using poweramp since ages now and everything works perfectly. BTW, I'm on AICP with ElementalX...
I use linaro version of franco kernel as it has faux sound and viper audio and i don't get the issue
