JELLY BEAN MODS and TWEAKS - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

some mods and tweaks for any JB ROM. Each of these will be a separate download. Install the ones you want in recovery. I recommend doing a backup in case something goes haywire.
and the usual statement that im not responsible if you phone blows up, bricks, grows legs and leaves with your wife, etc
Flash the Center Clock FIRST if you want it, then flash the other mods you want
Center Clock Grey - DOWNLOAD
Center Clock ICS Blue - DOWNLOAD
0-100 Percent Battery - DOWNLOAD
ICS Blue Status Bar - DOWNLOAD
Google Wallet for JB - DOWNLOAD
Revert Buildprop for Taste of Beans - DOWNLOAD
(flash the wallet zip, set everything up, then flash the revert zip)
I will add more as i create them. Right now I cant really take requests. If you want different Icons, everything is in res/drawable-xhdpi

this is mine

Good work bro keep up the good work ,you working on the toggle mod ?

download the zip and delete the build prop from the zip file. you will need to manually change yours to htc_jewel then change it back after you set wallet up

Install the center clock mod.
It will remove your battery icon and you can check "show battery percentage" in settings. There you go!
Found this out earlier today. On accident...

I don't want a center clock and i don't want just a percentage i want the battery bar with percentages
Not an iPhone.....

These are dope man, thanks! I was wondering if we could get a center clock with a black notification bar? After I flashed the Grey clock it turned a dark Grey. Is the blue clock the same? Also, I get an error when trying to flash the battery percentage on SynerBean2. Thanks again

flashing these zips
Hi folks... How are you flashing these? I am currently running paranoid 2.+ JB and when I flash the wallet it breaks my phone # and the signal goes from -100 to -24434034. Number is lost as well as all the other info on that settings screen. My method was I wiped data, cache, davlik, installed the rom, gapps, booted and setup my phone. Then I rebooted into recovery and flashed the wallet.zip.

I all depends on the size of the icons. You can use xhdpi icons, but they'll be to big for the status bar. I haven't found away to adjust the icons in the xml's as of yet, still looking. That bugs me as well especially the "3G". All in all unless you have ICS the icons will continue to look this way.

Yeah, thats the problem. Let me know if u've found a way to do so. Or just share the full status bar layout for me to giv it a try on my r800i.
Edit; Just wondering, would it make any diff if we mod the status bar background/land a bit longer or wider??

No, i dont think so. You have to consider that each icon has a designated space mandated in the XML's or smali about 38x38 or so. You want to find that line and change it to read something like 38x20 or what ever you want. It would read something like <FrameLayout android:layout_width="20.0dip" android:layout_height="25.0dip". I've tried changing "status_bar_icon.xml" to no avail.

Hmm, I can't seem to get this to work right. I'm using the R800x locked bootloader, 2.3.3. I have the file on my sdcard and renamed it update.zip. Through the CWM recovery, I flash the zip file. It runs and finishes rather quickly. When it reboots, I get stuck in a bootloop. Am I missing something or doing something wrong that might be causing this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Yours looked like it may have corrected the minor visual problems this one had. I'll give a shot at re-installing this one and putting yours on top to see if that works. I'll let you know.
EDIT: Ok, the old ICS theme still works.
Out of curiosity, I checked out what the difference between the two themes were. What are the apks in the app folder within your zip?
EDIT2: Worked! You were right. I had to install that old ICS theme down first before yours worked. Wonder why that would work...oh well.

One thing I've noticed is that using my music players (built-in music and playerpro), the text of the song title in the notification bar is black, so it's unreadable.
But so far, awesome job, man.

Black status bar for sense 4+

Ok, that was easy.
This worked for me. First im on JB_by_luxandroid_v2 (one s s3). I copied the systemUI.apk to my pc. Added .zip to the file and unzipped it. Searched for status_bar_background.9.png and used gimp to make these all black. Rezipped all the files to systemui.apk and copied back /system/apps using twrp file manager. Restart and all black status bar.

This worked for me. All the tutorials out there say you need to decompile, modify and compile the systemui.apk. I did not have to nor do I know why it worked the easy way. So this might not work for you and might frak up your install (do a backup before trying).

Hi, I'm using nova launcher with trickdroid 5 s3. HTC status bar annoys me. Would like to get it all black. Would appreciate any help with getting it. The option was before in the tweak packade but that isn't available anymore. Is there a zip to flash?
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I did not encounter any zip to flash, but you could try decompiling systemUI by yourself, which I was too lazy for, so I flashed Pacman ROM.
However, you can download ICS Status Bar or Jelly Bean Status Bar by Team Syndicate, they overlay the Sense one with a AOSP one.
Tried the overlay from play store already. Would work fine on ics. Problem with jelly bean is whn you pull down the notifications status bar goes away, but the overlay does not. So that cuts away half of the clock and settings button.
Dont want to have to go back to ics

Just plain flat black.... i love it... the closest ive gotten is setting status bar transparency on home all the way in Viper ROM, either one 1.2.1 or 2.0.0, and having a black bg... But only good on home...
EDIT: I would love to remove the beveled look of the status bar....

I managed to decompile the SystemUI.apk couldnot find the obvious status bar file to modify to black, I assume there are several. Someone know witch png files need to be modified to get an all black status bar?
I have done this a long time ago on HTC touch but it seemd easier back then
been googling for hours, but cannot find clear tutorials on how to edit status bar pngs
ok think I found it. should be status_bar_background.9.png

I found another way. Probably you saw that you can apply some themes in the "customize" app from HTC. Well, the devs of Virtuous ROM made some more themes for that theme chooser, including a holo-like one with a black status bar!

Your going to have to install them from sd,with a file explorer for now. Put unzipped folder on sd. Ill throw a flashable zip together tonight. Thanks to liamstears for fixing the battery percentage.New pack with battery coming soon.
Op updated new Lock Screen added now in flashable zip for easy install.
Is the lockscreen in with the rest of the icons? Or was the lockscreen specific .zip removed?

Not yet,I had a minor delete the wrong apk snafu. Once I'm back home I'll redo it. It was up,but I had to take it down. I will have it back up,with a better installer setup probably tomorrow.

Updated OP with new packs.
I realize that is, obviously, for a SENSE based rom but could this work on an AOSP rom? Perhaps just the icon pack? Fonts?
The displayed battery percentrage doesn't match up with the "Power" option in settings, so does this battery just do the "10s"? i.e. 90,80,70, etc. Right now the battery on the status bar says 100, but in the settings is only returns 98.
When charging there is no animation, the battery just shows a sliver of red and the charging lightening bolt.
If no one else sees these things that I most likely hosed something while copying over files.

did you install the old pack? new pack posted today has everything working.
i installed V3 sense5 pack complete, Sense5 Lock Screen, and Sense5 Fonts.
To install the first pack i pulled the items out and dropped them into my own flashable zip file.
I'll re-download and copy them over individually, set perms, and remove the odex version (I'm running cleanrom 6).

My zips will install them for you,all my stuff is deodexed. Im gonna fresh boot a rom and check again.I flashed everything fresh this morning when i put everything up,and all was good. They should work on odex, but you need to remove odex files.Ill see if i cant get my installer to remove .odex soon.
EDIT>>>Fresh boot everything's fine, battery matches system info<<<< I will be making pack for clean rom. Some things might possibly conflict with scrosler's build. As I have stuff going to bin/xbin/init'd. And my installer doesn't remove anything.

so i got my slimmed down rom booted up and running very smooth..just need to do a few more optimizations and add SU and ill be ready to serve it up to the rest of the world for use.
After i booted into the ROM,i booted back into recovery and flashed the SU/Busybox.zip,booted back into the rom....redownloaded your toggle mod and booted back into recovery..flashed it and now its running great..even the flashlight is working.lol
(something i noticed...the original file i downloaded from you was like 500kb larger than the 2nd one i downloaded....very odd,cuz ive never seen the the bad download actually a larger file than the right one...just thought it was weird..)
But all is well now and THANK YOU for the awesome mod!! the stock toggles piss me off!! how the hell are you gonna have the DATA toggle png's in the framework but no actual toggle for data!!?? :victory:
BTW,the Theme for it is clean...i like the ICS blue..but you should make one thats a minimal (white) and also a stock..just a thought.lol

Well it looks to me like the only thing there isnt a toggle for that I noticed, was toggle on/off motion..I dont use motion and im not requesting it by any means....but if your ever really bored and want to fiddle...lol

Hi..UCMC1 de-odexed here , I pushed all 3 files to their places , lidroid-res.apk in framework , LidroidSettings.apk and SystemUI.apk in system/app (renamed original systemui.apk to .bak , set permissions to 664 for all , clearned systemui cache in all apps , rebooted , phone boots fine , android upgrading , goes to desktop but no status bar .. Playing with advanced settings for toggles didn't help , rebooting again also didn't help , no status bar lol
Thanks

try the other way, make a backup of systemui original
flash toggles see if it works, if it works delete the flashed files put back original system ui and try again to push them...
I always have problems when I try to push files manually
btw: I've seen that I have to delete the backup in order to work when pushed, try moving the backup in a diff folder, like exsd...

And, someone have the ripple effect mod for UCMC1?

[MOD][5/21] - FIX FOR HOTSPOT AND WIFI PASSWORD ON AT&T Base

Thanks to @homeslice976 this is working on trickdroid, insertcoin & arhd roms so far !!!!
http://d-h.st/Pbp
I just received permission from the creator of this MOD to allow other devs to include his work inside the ROMS so if anyone wants to you are allowed to baked in the ROM
1. fix native hotspot
2. fix wifi password
3. it get rid of the AT&T carrier label in the status bar
4. it doesn't have persistent icons when wifi is on
5. disbles nfc icon
6.THE BEST PART FOR ME AT LEAST YOU WILL STAY WITH AT&T SIGNAL ICONS
MUST WIPE CACHE AND DALVIK BEFORE REBOOT
confirmed working in following ROMS
1. trickdroid
2. insertcoin
3. arhd
THANKS @homeslice976 !!!!
i had to remove the link since it has trickdroid specific stuff on it i will try to talk to homeslice to fix it sorry guys

Anyone find a battery only mod to get the percent back and not break the fix?
So does this mod just basically add the AT&T 4G LTE icons into the systemUI.apk, since most of the other mods are standard ROM mods already? Wouldn't this be the same as just flashing rayford85's vrtheme icons, since the SystemUI.apk is basically the stock Sense version?
