Hacked Skype on Sensation

Has anyone tried this hacked Skype for video calls on the Sensation?

I'm thinking of getting this phone so it'd be nice to know if Skype will work

It worked for me but the person was only able to see me for 10 seconds before my video feed froze. I could still see them and speak to them, they would just see my feed freeze up.

worked fine for me sensation to pc
frozed on sensation to iphone

second try it freezes have to turn video off than on to get to work for few more seconds

Heh, well I guess they'd rather it be unavailable than defective... Thanks for the info.

Thought I'd uninstalled skype. But it seems I can't uninstall the original. Where's that root when you need it =(

force it to stop, back out of the item to the list & then select it again. sometimes you have to go out & go back in for the uninstall to actually select

I downloaded the TBolt_GB_Skype apk from Droid-Life.com, but the video was flipped in a call between 2 Sensations...

And the apk on XDA was just updated today to 2.0.0.47

Battery usage

Just want to ask why maps and com.HTC.laputa always run on my phone. It shows on my battery usage even if I restart the phone they always come back. Both of them uses atleast 4 to 6% of the battery.

On set up did you allow google to use your location? It's one of the questions as you set up. I would run set up again and select no on that one. Then when it asks if your sure, select yes then check battery history after. Let ne know

I tried deleting the app but I guess there's more to that app that's still running so I did run the setup again and it disappear. Thanks that ur always there to guide.

Ya that what I found out. Because its constantly due to some apps need location permissions in order to AUTOMATICALLY update. But you can still manual update and not have that app constantly running.

So that google location accept is only for applications auto update?

Well no it has many functions like location widget and geo tag. But the autoupdate is what allows the ap to remain on.

Beats studio's with control talk. Controlling music possible?

I'm currently running ARHD 3.6.5 with the 1.5 bricked kernel, I have a pair of studios I bought off of a friend of mine for a 120 bucks. I also have the control talk cable that comes with the tours.
Now here's the issue, I can't go back and forth between songs with them. I can answer and hang up phone calls. Call my last dialed number, pause and unpause music. But I can't skip ahead or back a song.
Any solutions or do I just have to buy the official beats XE headphones?
Thanks, oh an by the way I got the beats for less then half the price so please don't flame me on how they are bad.

It happened to me once, just restart the phone and u should be fine. It could also be to do with a music file error. I found that one of my songs was causing the problem so I deleted it. Try both and see how u go.

try using Headset Button app from marketplace allows you to control button on remote .

I use doubleTwist music player. You can set that as your default app for using headphone controls.

I use Jay's headset controls, works with ICS now as well. I use it with my iBeats earbuds that come with the Rezound and use the app to add in line volume control. Not sure if the app will work, but the other work around has been said, by using a different player. GL

WiFi and 4G

Hi I.just want to ask if anybody knows why my WiFi and 4g always stays on together, meaning WiFi and 4g icon on notification bar shows both of them together. I'm using ARHD 3.6.2 bricked 0.91 tmobile USA is my carrier.

Not sure why that would be didn't do that on my phone with 3.6.1, 3.6.3 or 3.6.5 and 4.1.5, 4.1.6, 4.1.7

Before its doing ok bit I have to re flash the 3.6.2 Rom back coz I didn't like the newer versions so after that both of the shows up everytime, I did superwipe and re flashed Rom same thing.

I would maybe try the newest rom after you wipe your cache. It is by far the best one so far.
Did you flash any mods that may have caused this?

I did the first time tried flashing the 4g icon mod then I superwipe and re flashed the Rom still same thing. Maybe later ill try the newest Rom.

I would try the update first. Watch when the are both showing, is the WiFi signal low or showing no signal? That does happen when the WiFi signal becomes weak. Also make sure the mid you used is for the correct Rom.

I tried the new roms same thing, my WiFi signal is good full.bars but the 4g icon still.shows even if I'm connected to WiFi.

Did you get rid of the Tmo bloatware? For me, I just force close the My Account app and the cell signal bars go away.

Hi just want to say this step u said worked. So far I haven't seen the 4g icon show up at the same time as the WiFi after I uninstall tmobile my account app. Wish I can hit another thank you for you.

Google search crappy update

Did the new update also mess up the searching capabilities of your phone? Try to.search sth in the music library..

Damn it did. Music search does not work anymore Let's see if I can get rid of the bloody update...

Can you describe more of what you mean? I can still search music and everything just fine.

No u cant from e.g music player, open the music player and go to album/artist/all songs section and try to press the search button.. ive been reading a lot of negative feedback for the new search update, apparently it messed up all htc models and samsung aswell

You need to go into the settings in go into search and go into searchable items and check music and there you go. It didn't mess anything up.

Why dont u try it yourself smartass, but with steps i mentioned, it is imperative that u try to search from the ALL SONGS/ALBUMS/ARTIST section, not currently playing

I've searched from all songs/albums, whatever, and I still get what I'm looking for, no screw up on my update

I just did a search for "U2" on my phone and it instantly finds anything relating to it. You are of course free to criticize my musical taste, it's old stuff which I couldn't be bothered to remove from my memory card

U2 is one of my favorite bands did u try by the steps I mentioned? Open music player -> open all songs directory -> press search

Hi Xxul, I'd never even tried that method before to be honest and you're right, nothing happens when i press the search button when following the steps you wrote. I have to say I don't feel I'm missing anything as I never knew I could do this anyway but I can see it could be a frustration if you're used to it. Wonder what the logic was behind the change then

I did and it works fine for me! And I am an American so there's no need to go and say that, I'm able to search fine in music player and everything else after the update.
