Which rom to install?? Plz help - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Hi all, this is mine phones info:
Firmware :2.3.6
Model :GT-I9003
Baseband : I9003DDKP4
Kernel : [email protected]#1
build number : gingerbread,ddkp3
What Stable ROMS are available for my Phone based and also how to install those roms?

Sorry, these types of threads are generally not allowed as they have been known to cause fights between users of different ROMs. Try different ROMs, the ROM that is "best" for you may not be "best" for another user and vice-versa. The instructions to install each of the ROMs is generally in the first or second post of each ROMs thread. Good Luck!

1. A ROM is the firmware, or Operating Sytem, of your phone. It's a package that contains the OS, drivers, programs and other odds and clods that make your phone work!
2. A baseband is a special package (kind of like a ROM) that controls the radios in your phone (cellular radio [phone part], bluetooth, WiFi etc.)
3. A build number is the version of the Operating System you are installing. Every manufacturer uses different naming systems for their builds, but usually the higher the letters/numbers, the newer the build. A new build will often contain a new baseband, and a new kernel. If you're lucky, you can sometimes even get a new OS version (as you did)!
Hope this helps!
pudding no root?
ok guys/girls I have been looking on here for a week and a half now but I flashed pudding and im unlocked as well but no root access obviously something i am not doing right. I thought pudding would give root but maybe not? I also have tried booting in recov. but then I can't find anything in there that says root or whatever.
I have the superuser app. dosent work as well as tita. says not rooted? It also says that a newer version is released and that it was put on my sd card but can't find it?
Any help is welcome or just point me to the right thread.
No dummie responses as they are a waste of your intellectual ability when you could have just used that energy to respond with help.

my i5800

hi guys im a UK based gt-i5800 user currently using a custom rom and kernel.
im just wondering where can i locate the original 2.1 eclair kernel and rom from this fone.
i know it sounds crazy going back to eclair but i just wanna start from scratch.
can you guys please tell me what the UK rom and kernel were for oct 2010 please and also links to the specific files if possible.
i have tried searching through the website and even found roms on sammobile.com but they all confuse me. any help is much appreciated
it should be here somewhere
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I5800&r=1#regiona
thats where i was looking all i need to know is what kernel site has original kernel
All stock ROMs come with stock kernels. I believe the version you need is I5800XXJK1, because that is the latest XX version of eclair (I have also installed it once and the local product region in build.prop was GB). There is a tool on sammobile which will tell you does this version fits your smartphone, so first check out there.
here is the link for the stock kernels
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125387
i dont think in the above link has stock kernels/custom ones for ecliar

JRW 28 is right on, you'll just have to do some experimentation to see what YOU like. There's several totally awesome roms by some super talented devs -and each rom varies from the next: different looks, feels, features, etc. To tell you which rom is the "best" would be a matter of someone's personal preference. But you need to find that rom (or roms) that work for you.

[Q] Mr

Hi XDA,
my phone is galaxy s2, I'm now on ParanoidAndroid rom version 1.5. I remembered when I was on version 1.4 the kernel was siyah but now it changed to

[email protected]#1
SMP PREEMPT

Thanks in advance!
The rom used another kernel base...

Hi,
Can I install other kernel? If yes what kernel is the best fits my current rom? Thank you.
I do not know the nitty-gritty details of your device, so proceed with caution on your side...
As far as I know, you can use any kernel with any rom (unless the rom developer expressly mentions not to)...
As for the best kernel, there is nothing as best...its all trial and error...you will need to find the kernel+rom combination that suits your need...

[Q] Can i update mu phone's (Spice MI 410) Kernel by SUT

I have a Baseband / 2.6.32 Kernel but i want to upgrade it to Baseband / 2.6.35 Kernel. because i want to install "IceColdSandwich by elol " Rom and it uses the newer kernel version. (My phone is Spice MI 410 Indian version )
So my question is can i update my Kernel?
If yes, then can i update it using SUT? (AS its the easiest and safe way, i had bricked my phone earlier without it!)
And if you are kind enough can you give me a link or advise to the file which can update it as i have no clue where to look except asking you guys
Thanks for keeping this wonderful site functional.

What you're looking for: SUTLR 1.8, and Andro-ID RC3 by TJ style
I've asked a noob question on Q&A before: showthread.php?t=1931491 (Sorry for clogging the Q&A with noob questions )
Andro-ID RC3 here showthread.php?t=1446449
Flashing Andro-ID through SUT is necessary because it implements a new baseband on which the .35 kernel can only work... And to flash a nb0 with .35 baseband you must use SUT 1.8 or above
If this helps then cheers And sorry i couldn't post direct links because i'm new to xda...
