CoreDroid Sense 3.5 - Overly aggresive task manager - myTouch 4G General

I just flashed my phone with CoreDroid 3.5 and so far it's been great. One thing I did notice is that the task manager is very aggressive and would close programs a lot sooner/quicker than the default rom/virtuous unity/ARHD. Is there a way to make it less aggressive without having to flash a different rom?
Thanks!

An easy fix might be v6 supercharger. Use the least agressive settings.
There is also Auto Memory Manager.
Either should do.

I disabled the built in task manger and installed auto memory manager and it seems to be working. I can't comment in the battery life yet. Thanks!

Task manager?

Is it true that all task managers mess up your apps and make them stop working and have force closes and stuff like that? Cuz I like depend greatly on my task manager to help my battery and if so my battery is f-ed

Don't use task managers, they don't make your battery last longer, instead they cause more battery to be used.
Download WatchDog instead, it checks how much CPU is being used by what app, if you feel like you mist manage some apps. I use it when my phone lags.

Just checked this out! Fastest way to drain battery ever. My screen didn't go dark completely, it just dimmed down and stayed like that. Luckily this is a script run by Script Manager, and it's activated when you turn off the screen.
Seriously not recommended

The newest faux kernels do this already, but thanks for sharing.

Funny, it has been working fine for me. For anyone who doesn't use an app like setCPU and is on the OLD baseband this would be great. This on the NEW bb WITH a screen off profile is even better. It's still not pre-new base band like drain, but I don't wake up with a mostly drained battery. I just looked at faux's release notes and it sounds pretty tailored to the new bb, so I think I will see how his does alone.

Jarvis kernel already have this implemented
Excuse me folks but alot of people can't use the new faux kernel and Jarvis kernel isn't exactly stable on all phones niether, the guy is simply sharing something he found, what about Harsh, Morfic, etc??? This works wonderfully with morfics kernel on Cm7.2 stable even with undervolting, I get huge battery saving now, so be easy gentlemen

Memory Optimizers?!?

are those memory optimizers taskmanagers booster and apps like this recommended for my SGS3? do they really work better than the clean memory button on androids task manager?
is it worth it to install apps like this? I noticed that since using the gotaskmanager Ex when running many apps it crashes and does like fast restart or something like that.
opinion and suggestions pls
thanks

i choose 100 mb on my samsung galaxy gio, so what it does it when you have less than 100mb free memory left, it automatically kills unused background processes, but you need root

Why don't you just root it?
I rooted mine the first boot...
There is an app that resets the flash counter and you don't lose warranty!
After you root it search supercharger script and get it running mate...
Your S3 WILL fly after that!
ROOT that sucker!!!

Thats right bro' if you use Zeppelinrox v6 supercharger you will amaze on how fast will become your phone. For instance, you can set wich apps will stay open (like phone, sms, media and so on) so when want to use it it will open always fast, instantly! And that apply to your homescreen launcher too!

pimp my rom init.d tweaks

I searched xda for init.d scripts and found a Google play store app that let's you select different tweaks in an easy to use format... i applied a few tweaks and have not had any issues with boot loops or phone malfunctioning... also... i just found this so I haven't tested performance...also...these tweaks are init.d which are available using dwiths tweaked 3.1 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895049 ... or use dslices scripts and tweaks http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981446 to get init.d to work

so far... the best tweak was the disabling the sleepers... i did do the Internet tweaks... i got some of the best speed test results yet since I had the phone... but the Internet ping was short... so it may be because I was extremely close to a server...and my 4G at home is ok but not a clean 4g...so that test is not reliable... i would say it's a user preference

Best CPU Governor Tweaks?
Just curious to know what CPU Governor Tweaks are working best for people? Also, should the hardware acceleration and force gpu rendering options both be kept on together at all times for best results?

I use Tweaked 3.1 as my rom and it has always been best using ondemand for the governor... some people have used smartass when over clocking (tegrak is the only one so far reported to actually work to over clock our stock kernel) but this governor setting is not as good for battery consumption...so far I have only tested on demand(which I think is in dslices build of tweaked) some of these settings are new that I have not even heard of till this pimp my rom came out... One that comes to mind is the brazillion... the hardware excelleration I turned on but I left the force gpu settings off(I never tried it) because in the description it said it increased ram usage and the driod charge as one of its main complaints is lack of ram... these tweaks are so easy you can play and remove them as needed... that's what makes them great... it's you phone and you can make it like you like it...and if something really makes you happy... share it... please!... lol

Increase ur RAM and battery power to last long cm9/10

. So here we go on a topic from thz junior pico user, with he topic on how to increase ur RAM and battery life and also, auto_killin of applications themselves in CM 9/10
It's so simple and workin great..
Check the screenshots too...
1.Goto menu..
2.Settings...
3.Developer options...
4.scroll down to the bottom..
5.you'll find an option "Dont keep activities" (give a tick)
6.Then,right beneath to it, will be the option "set from standard limit to ATMOST 1 PROCESS"..
Thats it. U r done...
Now, ull surely hav a cent percent increase in ur RAM as well as battery life..
Hit" Thanx" if i hav helped u atleast for a 0.05 %
CHECK THE SCREENSHOTS ATTACHED TOO...
Screen shots...
Screen shot after makin setup as mentioned in post #1 of this thread...
Checked the status of RAM usage and available memory of RAM in task manager pro..
F
Probably won't do much good. Freeing up RAM isn't a worthy goal, as there is no harm in having stuff in RAM (code sitting in RAM isn't using any battery life, and just makes it faster when you go back to an app that is still in RAM from the last time being run). In fact, you may actually harm battery life, as this way it will mean that every time you switch apps, it'll be loading the app from the file system again, instead of from RAM, and that will require more CPU clock cycles (instead of just running code already in RAM, you load code into RAM and then run it). The more work the CPU does, the more power gets used.
This is only really beneficial if the background processes are using CPU cycles (which most shouldn't; they should be effectively "dormant" in RAM), in which case killing them will indeed reduce power use.
It's also worth noting that some apps will keep trying to run their background processes, so presumably this will kill them, but then they will restart, get killed again, etc, again wasting more CPU cycles than necessary.
On the other hand, there is an app on the Play Store called "Watchdog Task Manager" which will monitor background processes CPU usage, and kill apps when they're using more CPU than they should.
(Also, I should mention that I am assuming this feature you are describing is similar to the various "auto task killer" type apps; if it is in some way different to them, it may actually be of some use, and I apologize if that is the case - this post can be ignored if so)
Scripts are available to boost ram without harm........
So I think its if no use...
