I'd like to bring working versions of TWRP 2.2 to the Dream and Sapphire platforms. I could use some direction to live repositories containing healthy copies of the kernel and proprietary files for CM7.
Love it if you do, I've been looking it over for my n7, haven't tried it but it looks like a great recovery (and I'm no clockwork fan)
Off hand id suggest contacting ezterry or andsi or tvall

Kernel (based off of AndiSa and EZTerry's work also): https://github.com/tvall43/kernel-biff-testing.git
and you can grab proprietary files from the cm7 rom here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185027
Best of luck!
Many thanks.

I decided to start the MDPI ports with a slightly more friendly Wildfire S. TeamWin has since picked up the device for official support. It is a great recovery and it's open source and easy to work with. It ties in nicely with GooManager and Goo.im. The team has been working very hard to update their project and has done a great job helping me squash bugs while porting to the WFS. The HeroC followed soon after as one of the lead developers picked one up cheap. I hope to see the Dream and Sapphire running a stable, modern recovery soon.
Thanks so much for the links and info. I'll have a look at them and start hacking away in my free time. Hopefully I'll have something to show for it sooner than later.
I already did this, but I didn't like the recovery so I never released it lol
If anyone is interested, I could build it again.

This is awesome...
Hope they get it going soon. I got ahead of the game, and had their ROM manager installed and flashed the alternate recovery (all this after permanent root).
It does not work (works great on N1 - but not on this one yet).
Do not think anything else is messed up (as when selecting recovery at hboot - it shows stock options and then an error message further down...).
I thinks as soon as Clockworkmod gets the MT4G setup and it appears in the choice of devices, it should be easy to just flash their recovery over the one that I flashed earlier.

The "alternate recovery" in ClockWorkMod is Amon Ra Recovery (arguably better). I'm such he's working for a port for all the devices that got permrooted yesterday.
kmobs has it running now. Not sure when it will be released though.

Not until some devs pickup the phone. It is good that Kmobs has one cuz he may get the ball rolling but most devs (at least the ones I follow) all picked up a G2. Be patient though, I thought the MTslide was dead a few months back but there are still ROMs being released over there.
I think well be in luck with support.this phone is a whole different beast from the mt3g and hopefully much more appealing to devs, as it is consumers. Also,I think KingKlick has one and he made some great roms for the N1

To be fair, the ROM they have on the G2 forums is from the HTC Desire Z which is the exact same identical device as the G2.
Which makes me wonder if it'll be possible to load the Desire HD ROM without much porting work needing to be done given the similarities in internals.

What did he get banned for? I came from the Evo section, so all I ever saw was his kernels popping up.
They have ported over Rom Manager and their recovery to handle the GT already. I am hoping that they do so for the MT4G soon, as I do not have a working recovery right now.

Supposedly, he was taking ROMs from the other devs in the Nexus One forms, tweaking them just ever so slightly, then re-releasing them as his own creation with no credit due.
Emphasis on the supposedly.
If anyone gets their hands on a custom recovery before everyone else, I have a flashable rooted stock with bloatware removed uploading right now to Rapid Share. So, if you want to try it let me know. But be advised...IT IS UNTESTED!

I see some ROMs are AOSP...
You need to pull from Android Source, not CM. Go here: http://source.android.com/index.html
Read through the website and compile a Generic 2.3.5 and build it up to the HTC Pyramid.

Hi!
Who be the first on port ICS to Desire HD??????? I`m nervous!!!!
Regards,
Good luck devs. I hope that you will have easy job.
LorD ClockaN says we might need a 3.0 kernel.
This is a bad omen
Still... 3.0 is a natural evolution to 2.6.. not such a HUGE difference (as there was with 2.4 -> 2.6) IMHO
Is this useable for devs or do we have to wait for a port or whatever when it comes out on another device?

3.0 really is just a new tag, there were no major changes involved. at least not in the vanilla linux kernel. i don't know about android as i haven't done any kernel development for android in a while, but i'm sure the same applies..
FUD.
The emulator runs it on 2.6.29

Anything is possible, and if it was done for the sensation then there is a high chance it can be done for our device as well, since they are very similar.
Just takes someone to sit down and put time into making it happen.
I realize that you are making a request, but also that you are asking a question - so there's the answer to the question half - now it's just down to someone filling the request or you learning how to do it
i wouldnt even know where to begin...lol

We definitely need people to work on themes for this device - I personally am not fond of graphics work, but went ahead and made 3 tutorials on how to work with the majority of the graphics on the device that are stickied in the 'Themes & Apps' section of the doubleshot forums. They are laid out in order of progression.
The only thing someone has to do is figure out how to actually wrap it up into a theme's package that can be installed and recognized by the device. Hopefully there will be interest in this.

I bet it's all the same for most of the ROMs with same sense version and resolution. Best bet is to grab the given ROMs original apks for themes, like Burgundy.apk etc in the given ROM, and start modding that, decompile, change images, compile, sign...the usual stuff.

Possible with alot of work the problem is the Endeavor uses a bigger screen. I'm using a MIUI Port from the Sensation with the same issue then you have the issue of the keyboard.
I'm trying to find some of the old good ROMs and all links seem to be down. Namely I was hoping to find TDJ's darkside sense, faux123's orangeglacier, and any of the gingerbread sense ROMs that were stable. I went back to Royal Ginger a while back and while I love it for the most part, but the camera feels like it uses about 20 pixels to create an image.
Does anyone have these stashed away that could maybe upload them to a file sharing site for me?
I would greatly appreciate it.
