Not able to use the search feature as I'm on the app at work. Is there anyway to change this?
What I mean by vibration intensity is that I would like to increase it so when I'm typing and stuff I can feel it better.
I searched all in the settings, and even googled a little bit. Not sure if its right in front of my face or I have to edit something manually. Thanks for the help.

Yes!
Settings, language and input, then the little slider-board looking icon to the right of android keyboard, go down to advanced, and crank up the duration. (Not necessarily intensity but more duration will feel more haptic)

Ahhhh yeah feels great thanks for the help!

isn't there a file that can be replaced?

Good question ..gotta be a way to replace it with a friendlier sound. That high pitched "click" sucks

would be awesome to customize the sound, but i don't think that's available now, at least not without a custom ROM or something. i just switched mine off and left just the haptic feedback vibrate, sound was getting really annoying.
*sorry for the double post, connection lagged and posted twice, mods can erase this post
Now that we have a selection of roms, is it possible to edit audible selection?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Wouldn't it be cool if the phone played a random audible selection tone? Your phone could sound like a baby cooing and giggling.

First off download or make a custom sound of your choice but, make sure that it's under 2 seconds long & remame it to TW_Touch.ogg Then drag it to your SD card but also make sure your phone is rooted and download (Root Explorer). Once you got Root explorer downloaded open it and go to sdcard & find the sound you wanna use & hold & select copy. Go back once then go to System/media/audio/ui. The default sound you wanna replace is TW_Touch.ogg. Make sure the mount is R/O & just paste & your good to go. Now every time you make a screen selection the sound you chose will be heard. Hope this helps
Does anyone know of an app or a setting to control the touch button lights at the bottom of the screen?
i tried searching for a solution but found none.
I like reading off of the kindle app at night and with 22% brightness and white text on a black background, the result is a perfect experience -- except for the four blinding leds every time I turn the page...
This might also be helpful for those with issues during streaming video (i.e. Netflix).
I apologize in advance if this has been dealt with/is in the wrong place.

That is a very good question and I have the same problem while reading on my phone. I'm going to try and do some research to see if I can come up with a solution.
Try this. I don't know if it works or not yet

Bump for a good question
the light buttons are bright as fkc at night. +1 good question.. probably saves battery too if someone can dev this app.
https://market.android.com/details?id=neldar.bln.control.free
Install BLN control and check Activate Notifications. The lights will only stay on for a few seconds after you touch the screen/buttons.
Thanks for trying guys. I want to completely disable those bad boys. I know where they are. Don't need a searchlight!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Well you can't disable them. Not even the stock roms let you do that, the best bet is for them to only blink, which is they turn on when you're using them.
Some black tape works lol

Would the touchscreen still work with black/electrical tape? That makes me wonder, but I am lazy and have none on hand to test out.

I'm not sure if anyone else knows about this, but if you hold your finger on the status bar until the notification tray starts to open and then stops opening, you can slide your finger back and forth on the status bar to adjust brightness without going into your settings. I just found this out and thought it was cool and worth sharing

I kept noticing it changing brightness randomly sometimes since I got it back in August, and I just figured it out, haha. Oh well, eitherway, I'm sure there are people out there who will be pleased to learn this trick

Before people say it doesn't work, allow me to state the obvious. You have to turn off auto-contrast.

While the idea is nice, I find it a bit tedious. I'll go with a switch widget instead.
Is it just me or are the softkeys really bright on the s2?
Well, ive gone on google and tried to find the answer, but seems like there is not a way to possibly reduce the brightness of the softkeys itself.
However, before i give up (i find those softkeys useful, but hard to use at night as its too bright, and turning off the function is difficult to use) I was wondering if its possible without rooting, by using a 3rd party app.
Thanks

That's an interesting idea. The brightness issue made me turn off that light all together (running CM9). I found the light so distracting when using my phone to read a book or something in a dark room at night...
I hope someone chimes in with an idea.
.
Seriously doubt its possible without root.... with root, the only ones i can find just turn them off.. havent seen anything that just dims.
Would definitely say impossible without root, as you need to edit system files to alter hardware functions. I don't believe there is a variable anywhere to edit that though, because I've only ever seen their functions to be off and on with all the phones I've used that have had them. Just my 2 cents, but I'm sure a skilled dev could give you a better opinion.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Darn alright thanks for your posts!
Hopefully a dev could give his $0.02, as i would believe it would make the softkeys more usable throughout the day and night.
i think over time you get use to it. i turned my keys off and i have no problem navigating.

That's true. But I think to me its that little add on that makes everything nicer. However, just my opinion though.

Use the app screen filter. It will allow you to dim the buttons. Not sure if root is needed or not tho.

Didn't work for me either, however, I like the the function of the app for screen brightness.
What rom are you guys on? I'm on AOKP B40 and screen filter worked perfectly. Much easier to dim than with Lux, and back light for keys turned off and on perfectly.

Wont work. The leds used can not be dimmed. They are a two stage light. On/off

I'm not sure exactly how these specific leds work, but I know with store bought leds, you can use what's called multiplexing which makes them flash faster than your eye can see, but slow enough that it seems as if they are dimmer...not sure if there is a way to lower the speed or if you can even make them flash at all (constantly)
You could also maybe look for a night mode from a third party app to change settings at a certain time
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
That said.. I wonder if its safe to have a an app to lower voltage/amps to these leds.

The default settings appear to be broken. Did a search on the app here but it kept fc'ing so I'll ask here...
What are some good settings to keep the auto brightness feature working well?
As of right now it just seems to go from bright to dark to bright to dark within a few seconds even in a blacked out room in the middle of the night. Been this way for some time and its quite annoying.
Thanks in advance!
