Is there any way at all to keep the notification bar from moving? Like, for example, the bar is on the bottom part in portrait mode... When I tilt the tablet to landscape mode, I want the notification to stay that way, like on the Galaxy Nexus. Is there any way that that can happen? Any help will be highly appreciated! Thanks!
This may not be what you are asking for (you may already know this), but while in portrait mode, hit the clock and select "Screen Rotation" (it should change from green to grey). Your screen is now locked in portrait mode. Or were you just looking to keep your launcher in Portrait mode? If you want that, try a custom launcher - I use Holo Launcher HD, there are several other options (Go Launcher, ADW Launcher EX, Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher) - any of these should let you choose to only use portrait mode. Does that help?

I appreciate the reply very much
However, what I was trying to say is that, even when the tablet is in landscape mode, the notification bar will still stay on the right side. Like in the case of the Galaxy Nexus. When playing landscape games, the capacitive buttons still stay on the right side of the screen (which is the bottom when in portrait mode). That's what I was referring to: the bar staying on the right side of the screen in LS mode, instead of the bottom of the screen.

I was using my phone on cyanogen 6.1 and the bottom dock has disappeared, it was replaced by a light black bar about 1/5" tall. How do i get the dock back?
I haven't used ADW for a while but if I remember correctly you just press and hold your screen as you would to create a widget and select custom shortcut then open/close app drawer then just place it where it normally would be at
That is the hidden dock. Per default, it is opened by swiping down on the screen. Swiping a second time should bring back the normal dock
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
Yes, as above poster stated.. swipe downwards to get it back.
If it does not come back (which I've had happen if my phone goes into landscape mode) I usually just restore my settings from the awd options.
Also, if you want to completely disable the extra dock as I have:
Settings > ADW Settings > UI Settings: Under the "Hidden Dock" section, disable the first checkmark.

I just purchased a new TF300T for my wife. I've upgraded to 4.2 in hopes of solving my problem but so far no luck.
Problem:
In landscape mode I can not pull down the notification bars for the 4.2 version launcher. If I hold the tablet in portrait mode no issues at all.
Similarly Nova Launcher (my launcher of choice) if I am in landscape mode and I attempt to hit the settings button or drawer button in the upper right hand of the desktop it will only switch the desktop to the next page.
Any ideas? Bad Digitizer?
So after doing some more digging and a factory reset I believe the device is defective.
If I am in portrait mode I can not drag an app to a home screen on the right side of the tablet which would be the top if I was in landscape. You can see where the app gets released and settles back on the current home screen.
Guess I'll be calling Asus for warranty.
Anyone able to find a way to enable auto-landscape while the phone is in the home screen or lock screen? Every once and awhile when I awaken my phone, it shows the time widget and lock pattern in landscape but then blinks back to portrait real quick. Also happens every once and awhile on the home screen when I switch out of Chrome or Textra.
I know I could use Nova or something to enable to the auto landscape for the home screen. Is there a way to do it with just the stock software? Also how about with the lockscreen as well?

I was about to say, your best bet to do landscape is with a third party launcher. Is it really that big of a deal to view things in landscape? Its sort of un-comforting to hold this phone on landscape unless I use it to snap pictures. xD

I've got pretty big hands so it's not too bad for me. Plus it's nice like when I'm laying down, landscape is more natural for me. I guess I will switch back to nova launcher, but any ideas for the lock screen?
Only way I have seen the lock screen rotate was when in MHL mode and it forces it into that aspect.
Is this possible? Because I've been looking for a way to do it for ages without success.
I want the nav bar behaviour to be exactly like the one on phones, it takes too much space when using the tab in landscape mode.
I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but I put my tablet in fullscreen/expanded desktop mode, then use LMT launcher (the best pie launcher) with pie activating from the side.
Lollipop Launcher. You can set the desktop to *portrait mode* thus navi bar is on the left or right side when holding the Shield in landscape.
Nova Launcher can do that.
You will need an app to force landscape mode. I use rotation control pro.
Now when you put the phone in landscape, the dock still shows but the desktop icons don't. However if you initiate a split screen then close the app drawer, the full landscape desktop will show with the app dock on the right and all the icons showing correctly.
It will revert back though but currently it's a nice work around. I can finally use my phone in landscape mode with my BT mouse and keyboard!
