ZTE MF 110 on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello people.
My name is Tzury and i have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
I just get an OTG cable and i plug in my ZTE MF 110 for 3G internet connection.
The Tab doesn't want to recognize the ZTE and i want to know to do it, because my Galaxy Tab doesn't have any APN option or how to make this connection.
Please help me if someone knows how to do it.
Have a good day!

I don't have any idea if it works in your situation, but you can give it a try.
Look for an app called : PPP

Can you be more specific?

O.K
It's a widget developed for the Acer Iconia A500, but according to the developer it's likely to work on other tablets.

I need one more thing, do i need to root my tab to work, because gives me errors when i plug the USB.
I don't know what to do.

Yes, it requires root access.
But as I told you earlier, It is not a must that it works on your tablet.

No Joy on GT-P3113 7" Tab2 with cm10
I have the 7" Tab2 GT-P3113 (WiFi only). Installed cm10 nightlies (newest 20120921). Using the USB plug that came with Student edition. Modem Huawei E180 unlocked.
When inserting the modem - in the upper left corner of the Tab2 the message shows briely "Damaged SD card" regardless if the E180 has the card or not. The modem is getting power as its light keeps blinking.
The PPPwidget installed fine. When pressing on it the SUperuser permision screen pops up and after OK the message states that all was set.
But this is it.
There is no way to move the widget as the Superuser permission screen pops up every time regardless where it is pressed.
I hope this helps in improvements.
Thanks for the effort.

The p1000 is the original Gtab 7.0. You might want to ask in that forum?
I use the USB OTG adapter for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it works fine. No need for any applications or anything. Just be sure to push it until the Flash drive starts flashing its lights.

What is an OMAP4430 Driver and what are its functions?

I was nervous to post this but then again, better to at least ask and to know than to let fear keep me in the dark (so to speak). So, the thing is this. i am trying to root my samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 wifi only which is 4.1.1 (GT-P3113) UECLK7 but i stumbled on a problem. Yes, huge thanks to Mr. Chainfire for giving us CF-Auto_Root, but when i put my tab in download mode, there was no blue status bar showing any progress, but it ended up saying
1. that i dont have OMAP4430 Driver installed and
2. that i dont have samsung usb driver installed.
i dont understand why and was wondering if anyone could please tell me how to fix this? and where can i find this OMAP4430 driver and samsung usb driver too? ive searced through google so much looking for this OMAP4430 driver till my eyes started burning. i really would appreciate the help. sincerely.

Install Samsung Kies, which will install the drivers for you. Then you can uninstall Kies unless you think you'll use it.
Sorry if i seem a bit curious but what was it after all, because you didn't cleared that up and what was it that it dose in the Android OS?! I ask this because i recently switched to Android 4.1 on tablet. Also why do you need to root a Samsung Tab? I know they have enough internal memory and if not an SD card will solve it.

Except if you want to use the external for apps one would need to be rooted. It is also good for using bloatware blockers and many other apps which require root access. It gives one more control over his/her device. Which is most of the fun of having an android device, IMO.

True, on a rooted device you can install non-market apps and if you have enough knowledge in Android modding and courage you can put more customized ROM-s.
The drawback : loose the client warantee from the producer.

I have a galaxy note 2 i605 Verizon yesterday I flashed the liquid smooth 4.2.2 ROM. My phone says storage space running out
When I go to Google play store and try to download a app it says insufficient space and when I hook up my phone to the computer via usb cable it shows where im connected on my phone but the computer doesnt reconize my i605. Can someone help me fix this issue please what do i need to do. When all of my google play apps update after they finish i expected to find them on my home screen but none of them was there.
Never mind I just figured it ALL out ....I'm a flasher now.....LOL. Just because I know how to and what to flash that still doesnt make me a dev....it didn't take me long to figure this out. I'm wanting to go a step further and that's to be able to figure out how to put a custom ROM together although I'm not sure how that's done but I want to learn. I want to thank the creator of XDA whada site! I would also like to thank all the devs for there hard work.

[Q] Has anybody got Sky Go working on the 7.7?

Has anyone (in the UK) managed to get Sky Go working on the 7.7?
I have JB installed, and tried a recent release of the sky go apk (3.3) - but still could not get past the 'this device is not supported' error.
Has anyone successfully used rooting / spoof software to circumvent the error?
Or know of any other way?
thanks
I don't use Sky Go, but the SGS3 users has used my (SGS3) zip to enable access Sky Go with some success.
Here is a download link to my CWM flashable Superuser/BusyBox installer :
P6800 version http://d-h.st/xuQ
If you have a P6810 model, you may have to open the zip and change the updater-script (open & edit with device text editor) or PC "notepad++" program to correct system mount and save.
Just flash in CWM or TWRP recovery. This should remove Superuser and BusyBox. If Superuser remains after flash, uninstall manually.
If you need root access again, just download/install Superuser and BusyBox from Play Store.
Ref to SGS3 thread here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788900

UITA

Am I the only 7.7 owner who cares about being able to get sky go working on their tablet?
It might be no one else using it.

I find that hard to believe
The 7.7 still has superior specs over all the recent tablet releases
Surely there's some clever techy out there in android world that has a work around for this
here's hoping

Usb power hub and WD HD...

Hey guys..
I have a WD 1tb HD which iz self powered...

I understand that tab cannot supply enough power to the self powered HD..
I have made a Y-cable for the purpose...
The HD lights up and vibrates indicating that its receiving power but unfortunately it doesn't show up on the tab..

Its exactly the same situation with the usb power hub as well..
Plze help me out with getting my HD work with the tablet...
I have searched a lot but couldn't get a proper way to get things going...
My tab iz rooted with sungsonic hd v2 running...
USB power hub iz iball lappie...
WD HD uses usb 3 but tab doesn't recognize it with usb 2 cable as well..
Share it if u know it...

You need whether the official Samsung OTG Dongle (expensive) or a OTG Cable you can find almost every where for some buks (Amazon, eBay, ...).
The standard charging Samsung cable is not compatible !
You also need the Y cable if you use a high power/capacity devices you can plug on any USB port such as a Laptop or on the main power supplier if you use a power USB hub that allow it.
Then you need an application that support Fatx, NTFS, and/or HFS such as the Paragon apps (free of charge).
Support for EXT3/EXT4 is another matter as I couldn't find a working one when I was using ICS 4.0.4, but I didn't retried since I'm using Jelly Bean. Maybe there are working now ??? ^^
You can use the same OTG cable to plug any USB keyboard/mouse or any other USB devices if the ROM do support them, or if you use a custom ROM that do support them...

Not necessarily.....
Needed hardware and drivers may be different or lacking.
USB support is defined within the kernel drivers. Native support may be different between Android devices and firmware.
For example, the P6800 4.1.2 JB supports USB for iPhone_4S, P6810 ICS does not. (Only up to iPhone_4)

As I said, it's just an example of USB support from kernel. Although similar, some kernels have various functions enabled, some don't.
Sometimes, changes (for support) need to be hard coded/added at the kernel source or just from config file before compile. This applies also to USB and OTG -A & -B devices.
OT, have enabled USB support for missing iPad & iPhone 5 in upcoming SkyHigh kernel 3.0.0 (untested)

As already said, at least from Tegra 2 Galaxy Tab there are support for OTG.
If you know any other Samsung devices that don't support it as stock, then specify...
Don't talk about Apple devices as I hate them and don't even want to hear from them...

Sorry, I think you missing my point/example.
I am talking about unsupported USB/OTG features and support for various peripherals. Not all are supported with stock kernel.
As a very basic example, take a look at any kernel .config file.

Can I please get to know how do I get my HD working...?
I have figured out that I'll have to modify my kernal as no existing kernel dev say that they can assure the HD working...
So which files have to be modified ?
