My suggestion is to go into the SG2 forums and read every post...then do the same with the Sensation forums. After you do that you will have a good idea of what phone fits your needs.

Port rom

How do i port a rom? N i looked n looked n noting useful. Thanks
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
First off. You need good grammar and spelling, no more of the abbreviating stuff. Second off there is no sure fire way to "port a Rom" you will have to go to chef central on here and read for hours then compile your own cm7 build. Once you can do that you can work off that.

There is a couple stickies in android chef central that you can take a look through to get yourself familiarized with whats necessary to get started. I would definatly recommend setting up android kitchen on ubuntu if its possible for ya.

For starters if you want to just do a straight port, you could port miui from the DHD. It's the easiest one

lol the DHD and Desire Z?
well first and most noticeable is that the Desire Z (Tmobile G2) has a hardware keyboard. the next thing, is that the screen is wayyy smaller than that of the DHD. then there are the more inner things. the Desire Z has a 800 MHz CPU, while DHD sports a 1 GHz (like us). and also, the Desire Z has very little RAM, can't remember off the top of my head, but it's a lot less than the DHD or the MT4G.
but while the devices are different, it's still mildly easy to port a Desire Z ROM to the MT4G...

Mildly? The first ROM i ever ported was a MexdroidMod version using DSIXDA's Kitchen. It took like 20 minutes. I had an issue with the keyboard and dropped a gingerbread keyboard apk in to fix it. That was the ONLY issue I ran into.
I call that mega easy.

what is better

So I have desire s and I want to change it for other phone. So I have 2 choices. Sensation or LG optimus 2x. So who will be better for.

Avoid the LG optimus 2x. Good hardware specs, terrible UI compared to Sense.
It's dev section on XDA will also be a ghost town compared to the Sensation.
But seriously, wait another couple of weeks and there will a whole heap of other options to choose from.

Sensation. But could wait and see what mwc will brings next week

I had 3 O2x devices. They all had the well documented black screen of death issue. Avoid like the plague IMO.

Sensation +1
It not too much bigger than desire s , you can still use it with one hand , it has a good resolution and a dual core processor.
I dont like big phones.
I dont know why someone buy a phone like sensation xl.
4.7 inches with a resolution like desire s.

Its a big step for me to accept a dual core CPU powered phone. I think this 1 ghz is plenty enough for a phone, but quad its useless. You will not edit or render vidoes, pictures

Change DS for Evo 3d?

What do you think about changing my DS for Evo 3d? Is it worth?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
No, not really. With the One series out, you'd just be trading one outdated phone for another outdated phone. Buy the One S/X or stick with the Desire S.
Have to agree with above, plus you'll miss us,
Swyped from my Desire S using XDA Premium
Veto.
I "upgraded" from Huawei U8800 to Evo 3D, and feel regret.
I woudnt sell my DS, i will give it to my father, so i will be still active to DS forum. I don't like One S because it has only 10/11gb user available, doesn't have radio and can't remove the battery. Thanks for reply.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
To be honest the evo 3d is a fantastic phone for the price. If you're desperate, I guarantee you wont find a better phone for £200
