any camera alternatives that does it?

I'm also interested in that

Replace Sensation camera?

Has anyone ever physically replaced the camera on the Sensation? Mine won't focus at all. It seems like the actual focus is stuck. Before anybody asks, i've searched for 3 straight days and I tried everything. It just wont focus, it seems like it's stuck on one focus position and anything closer than 2 feet is out of focus. It makes the focus noise but no attempt at focusing.
Is sending it in for repairs an option?
Not really, I can get a camera online for it but was hoping I wouldn't have to replace it.

You can either touch the screen to focus on a certain point or if you point it at an object long enough it will focus on it. My doesn't do that on camera or camcorder.

i also get the no focus on anything up close but focus from more than 2 feet or so works great! weird, im guessing that thats just how it is.
My camera has been having trouble focusing lately. I've tried stock ICS, sense 4.0, aosp. None are good.
Kind of been wanting to downgrade to gb to see if it improves.
Glad to see I'm not alone, although it isn't very good news..

I can't automatic focus while recording too, only by clicking on screen. I have stock rom so i think it's just feature.

No, the camera/camcorder should automatically focus.
Been facing the same problem too. Autofocus for macro shot is not as good as my old htc desire and htc sensation.. strangely, if i try macro using object that has text on it i.e newspaper it works.. I thought the problem is the HQ camera mod, but when i reverted to stock camera, the problem persist. I still yet to try the camera on official GB rom. If anyone tried it I would love to hear the result.
Htc Sensation XE, ARHD 6.6.3

Camera app

Suggest me a good camera app...I don't like the default 2.3 camera because auto focus is not working properly mostly in macro mode

Macro mode isnt supposed to auto focus, it's for close up stuff only, as in, it's focused really close.

Now could you enable 40 mbps video?
Thanks for doing this! Does this mod also include the highway quality pictures with no compression?

its based on nodo-gt's cam mod with 1080p video recording enabled, so i would assume no compression as the original mod had this feature

And I just flashed this mod. The bitrate seems to be ~13 mbps? Not sure if I did anything wrong?

Just a quick mention, in order to get optimum bitrate, recording conditions come into play such as brightness and other things, so you may not always get the full bitrate all the time

I think because sensation XL have a single core; while full hd is possible only with dual-core or higher.

Does the camera quality of our phone depend on what Rom we use.

Camera quality is higher in stock roms 'cause drivers for the special image chip are only for stock. Thats why you see lack of quality comparing aosp rom photos with stock rom photos.

Oh, sorry for that, I dind't read well. Yes, it should have nice quality. Try installing ZeroCamera that is in dev section, and see if it improves camera quality.

Should work on all One S and One X phones that are Sense based.
From what dzo (the recognized camera expert for the HOS) says, there is no difference in quality between shots taken using the stock camera or even AOSP. I have noticed some speed and feature differences in the cameras, but the photos look close to stock for me on AOSP based ROMs.
The difference lies with how the camera app saves and compresses the image, if it applies any filter etc etc.

Definitely. Stock takes a much smaller picture, more square-sized, and is quite often blurred on mine. Sweep panorama is the only upside to the stock Android camera.
184 is from sense
547 is from liquids ROM

It has HDR but it's not that good and often appears blurry because the camera drivers aren't perfect yet
