better app searches? - Asus Transformer TF700

Hello. Is there some way to search for apps by what they do instead of just name search? Am i missing it somewhere? It's so clumsy .

You mean like for the play store in catagories?

yea u type in a few words of what your trying to do. if u put freeze apps, titanium would come up in the results...and so on just like that.

partial google apps

I couldn't find anything through search, so I'm asking is there a way to get only SOME Google apps?
I really don't want Google talk and some other stuff, is it an all or nothing deal?
You could always just install the full Google Apps and use adb to delete the ones you don't want. That's what I did.

Root. Download root manager. And remove. Warning... alot of google stuff is integrated and can mess up your phone. Make sure u back up first.

[Q] Titanium backup - attach to market

In Titanium Backup, if long-pressing on an app there's an option to Attach to Market. My thinking is that with this option, if I have an app on my phone that was not downloaded from the Market, I could 'attach to market' in order to receive update notifications for the app.
Is this wrong? Because I've attached an app to the market via titanium backup, but it doesn't show under My Apps in the Market.
Thanks for the help/clarification!
Yes, when you buy an app from the market, it comes almost like it's signed or something. There is a verification of it somewhere on the google servers. That's why it tells you download denied. Hope that helps a bit... So all amazon free apps must wait for amazon to update

so to clarify, if i download an app (.apk) and copied it to my sd card, then installed it on my phone and 'attached' it to the market via titanium backup, it won't really do anything? like, this doesn't make the market think i downloaded it from the market?
For paid apps, no... If you attach to market then clear market data and reboot phone, it could show up under your app lost... But if you try and update it... It will tell you update declined... So basically yeah, force attach doesn't really do much in that situation

[LIST] Favorite Root / Non Market Apps

Two completely different categories I know. But here's my list, if there are good suggestions I'll add them.
Non-Market Apps
Faceniff (Hijack Facebook/Twitter sessions, this has a high douchebag rating. Use it to educate your friends about https setting on social networks)
WifiKill (Does what it sounds like, again very high douchebag rating)
SMSBomber (again, not on the market for a reason)
Root Apps:
SD Maid (cleans stuff)
AdAway (blocks stuff)
Titanium Backup (backs up stuff)
ROM Toolbox (whole bunch of stuff)
ROM Manager (not as much stuff)
Six Axis Controller (hook up a ps3 controller via bluetooth and stuff)
Undelete (undelete stuff)
Root Apps:
Titanium Backup (paid version.....every flash-a-holic like me should pop for the paid version)
ES File Explorer
System Tuner
PC Apps:
adb (necessity for any modder/developer )
APK Tool (also necessity for any modder/developer)
Personally moved away from Root Toolbox for System Tuner and ES File Explorer. I've learned enough now to replicate most you can do in Rom Toolbox, but it was great in the beginning.
Favorite non market app: Network Sniffer. Its hilarious to redirect all website traffic on your network to a single website. Or change all the pictures to troll face. Definitely high on the mischievous list.

Could be my new favorite app....
This could be my new favorite app...
Installed today... looking good!!!
It allows for multiple users on JB...
I created a user for my wife and so far its clean. She has her own homescreens, etc...
It is the first generation of the GUI but it is basically just doing command lines stuff that is already built into JB...

Great apps guys. I will be checking back to see more great apps revealed to me.
Faceniff was great on my HTC Aria. Oh how I screwed with somebody on Facebook using wifi in a hotel...
I'm on CM10 and Faceniff just FCes. I think the drivers don't work with it.

What's the easiest way to share an Apps list?

I have a number of apps I want my cousin to download. What's the easiest way to share my app list with him?
I've done this too for my brother; I used this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.funnything.list_my_apps&hl=en
It's cool to see the icons, the down size is the language barrier.
There is also this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boots.MyAppsList
I say give both a try and see what works for you..
You can also use titanium backup to send an app list as a txt file. Worked great for me.

App brain is another...
Aptoide uploader is really nifty. You make yout own private app store for your friends. I liked it over a competitor appsfire

Need help with yahoo messenger app

hello all experts here,i have a little problem that i keep failing to solve.i use Samsung galaxy y,and from past month i have been feeling need for yahoo messenger's voice chat.i would like to mention here that I DO NOT WANT VIDEO CHAT,but just want to use voice.I know for most of the video chat apps,1GHz processor is needed and my device has 832MHz.
I have tried searching for the "yahoo voice and video plugin" apk file so i could install it and introduce voice in my chats, but i did not find it anywhere
all suggestions are welcome, since i desperately need them.I wonder if someone could back up that plugin and upload it for me,that will be great.
p.s.i dare ask cuz earlier i have used few apps like that, which Google play store told me my device can't run them, but i downloaded them from third party websites and installed, and they work fine.....
