[Experiment] Carbon Fibre skin for Extended Battery - Motorola Atrix 2

Was looking for a way to protect the Extended Battery door from scratches. A case wasnt possible, so decided on a vinyl for skin.
Couldnt get my hands on a 3M Di-Noc Carbon fiber vinyl, managed to get some cheap CF vinyl from a local car mod shop, something to experiment with before i find that 3M vinyl.
First Attempt: shabby, had a problem pulling the damn thing around those curves and the not so sharp blade didnt help either

Second Attempt: much better, still the blade didnt help
the cheap glue keeps coming off from the curvy corners. cant wait to get my hands on some 3M Carbon Fiber.

Try blow drying the corners to stay in place. But not too long don't want to melt the phone.

This is something that I have thought to give a try, good that someone did try!
I was thinking like wrapping my bike with 3D Vinyl and called a vendor who quoted like 1000Rs for 7sft (with shipping), is it a reasonable price bro, where did you get the vinyl from?

I got this one for Rs80, that's for 1sq.ft. But its unbranded i guess. i actually have no idea about vinyls. Just got lucky to get my hands on some at this store. Though i am planning to buy 3M Di-Noc CF vinyl which seems like the good quality one. I did see 3D vinyl on ebay but dunno how good is it. Better if you check it out before placing the order.
3M has the best sticking material out there and its pretty expensive, Rs950 for 2sq.ft

Tune Belt Armband

Posting here in case you don't read the Vibrant forum.
I've been searching for an armband for my Vibrant for awhile and decided to get the Tune Belt Armband.
This is the one I got:
https://www.tunebelt.com/domino/tunebelt/shop.nsf/parts/3FBB580A8B45C3DA852577AD00660D14
So far it's a very good armband except in one area. The length of the band itself is kind of short. If you have decent sized biceps, I highly recommend getting the extension. It only costs a few dollars more so it's well worth the investment in case your arm is too big. This should fit just fine on most women.
The armband fits with my Vibrant still inside it's case which is exactly what I was looking for.
Here are some pics.

Hopes this helps anyone looking for the right armband.
How well does it cope with water? Not just the kind from above, but also sweat from where it touches skin.
How much does it take to make the phone fall out? Looks like its "just" a flap with no velcro securing it in place?

I used to have a neoprene case exactly like this for an ipod and they don't deal with water...

It would take a LOT for it to fall out. The "flap" actually curves over the top of the phone because of the stitching and holds the phone very securely. I shook it as hard as I could and the phone did not budge.
To get the phone out, I have to hold the flap open and push the phone from the bottom, otherwise it doesn't come out.
As far as moisture, I would not run a marathon with any neoprene armband (at least not with a $500 phone in it). But for gym use, I think it's sufficient.
I'm going to run it through the gym the next few weeks and see how it holds up.
The build quality looks to be on par with my other 2 armbands and they've survived for a number of years now. Only time will tell.

please recommend case for sensation

I am happy with the original case for touch HD.
I prefer to slide the phone out when using it.
My intention is to protect the phone from dust and scratch when in the pocket.
thanks.

I would prefer the below case. Anyone has used it before?
http://www.amazon.com/Monaco-Vertical-Carrying-Case-Sensation/dp/B0058V25ZY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_2
so the name for such kind of case is "Vertical Carrying Case"
The below one seems to fit my needs perfectly. any idea?

What exactly is TPU? is it like rubber? i got the Gel Skin from tmobile store free when i got the phone and it serves its purpose but the case just attracts mad pocket lint and dust. does TPU do that?
i dont get why you guys would spend on a case so expensive when you can get one on ebay for a cheaper price.

I have the Melkco (orange stripe on black leather) and I can tell you a few things about it.
1. It looks great. This case lends the Sensation a genuinely premium look and feel. I was (and still continue to be) impressed.
2. It fits perfectly. The handset is snug and does not budge.
3. All sides are covered. The top covers the digitizer completely. No particulates make their way in.
Get it.
My tpu

Personally I don't like tpu-like case. That is a cloth on the phone which make it look ugly.
I would like to get the phone out pocket, with leather case, looks decent,
draw out the phone, a shiny baby....

Need a sturdy case

I'm driving trucks for a living and need something that can take the bumps and drops. I'm in Australia so I need it to be available for me here

Ballistics SG! It was just a tad too much for me when I had it, but the case felt really really nice.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
I want to suggest ballistic SG as well. You can grab one from Amazon for less than $20 and yet its very durable and effective. I dropped mine several times and the phone is still in pristine condition. Make sure you also grab a screen protector.
Not sure if you can get it, but I personally swear by Otterbox. Had it on my other phones and provided great protection. I don't think you're one to care about bulk, so I'd suggest the Otterbox. Plus, they have lifetime warranty on their cases; so if your case gets destroyed or the rubber flaps start to rip off, call them up and they'll ship you a brand new one for free.
I personally feel About Turning Leather Protective Sleeve, comprehensive protection outside dust, scratches can be very good to protect your phone is a good choice!! :fingers-crossed:

Throwing in another vote for the Otterbox, you can even find them on eBay for cheaper than retail.
Seidio Convert.

I like the seidio convert, but the rubber collects to much dust.. i like the surface better... just dont get white. lol that thing attracts ink like no other after a months use it was yellow and pink..

+1 on Ballistic SG, I work outdoors and have dropped my phone many times and no problems, it's a bit bulky but well designed

Skinomi Carbon Fiber Skin is absolutely gorgeous

So I decided that I got tired of Samsung's infamous glossy polycarbonate fingerprint-magnet casing and decided to do something about it. I think you'll find the results below are quite stunning if I do say so myself.
Feel free to comment and share your thoughts/questions. : )

Neither, if you click the main link you'll notice this is actually a vinyl wrap that applies onto the device, effectively adding almost not thickness.
A vinyl wrap? I feel like that will eventually peel or catch on the edges with long term use... in and out of the pocket and eventually start peeling

Depends how you use it. The glue on it is really thick and tough so it does not peel easy. Also they recommend to use a heat gun once you're 100% sure you want to set it the way it is so the glue melts and bonds to the plastic (doesn't actually bond but sure feels like it afterwards).
I bought this instead, well see how it is

[Q] Help with UAG Casing

Hey guys I recently bought a UAG casing for my S5 online, and I realized that it doesn't really fit? I'm not sure but it looks like the casing isn't wide enough for the phone or something. Alot of times it feels liek the phone is "popping out" in a bad way, and I can see the gold trim around the phone too.
Do you think I bought a fake one? Cos it's very tough to remove the phone from the casing too and I can hear the creaks and feels like the phone is gonna bend or something!

It depends on where u bought it online? I have a clear one and right now prefer it over a ballistic case and a spigen slim armor cs case. Fits perfectly, and the phone is secure in it. It can be a little tough removing the case, but I prefer it that way... :good:
Mine fits perfectly in my case. It is a little hard to get out, but that it because it fits so perfectly. You shouldn't see any gaps or even any part of the bezel. I have seen a lot of fake UAG cases where they are, for lack of a better term, "warped" and don't fit snuggly, leaving gaps around the bezel. I would be a little concerned that you got a fake one. Where did you buy it? Also, the pics posted aren't coming up on my end to look at it.
