[CM7]echo problem SOLVED!!

today i tried to use GetRil in my thill 4G running BangL MOD(CM), GB v20c baseband
I installed the one read "lgp920-v21a-NOV ***" I think its safe because theres a restore option
after a reboot I tried to call my dad's phone, and use the speaker(this is where worst echo should happen)
and I yelled many time using my dad's phone, I couldn't hear a thing!
and the Thrill side can hear my voice (call quality has no problem.)
SO excited to share with everyone
Echo problem was the only thing that holding me back to the CM rom
Now It's solved!!
can any of ya test it out and confirm this works for everyone?
Gonna test today

How do you manage to solve the problem?
I'm trying new "CyanogenMod 7.2 Modded" and the sound in call as terrible echo( hear phones, speaker or loud speaker) .
Also play music in the speaker have very low sound.
strange today I tried to use my home phone to call my phone, and the echo is still there.
the low volume I think is because the voice is not coming from the speaker but from the top speaker, changing volume of media is setting should temporarily solve that, until you call someone.
cyanogen needs a lot of work..
One thing i discovered was that if i listened to the fm radio and somedody called me the audio modules crash and sound doesnt work.

[Q] Does Custom ROMs and Custom Kernels have Mic problem

Hello Everyone,
I have recently purchased a bright red Nexus 5 32GB, and found that there is a problem with mic.
I have to speak loudly or repeat my words so that the other person on call will be able to hear me.
I have gone through this thread and found that am not the only person with this problem and users have also raised the same in this google group.
Users are stating that they have RMA'd the phone but the problem still exists.
I too have done testing with sound recorder apps and they all seem to record my voice properly.
I want to find out if this problem is only in the stock ROM or does it also effect custom ROMs and custom kernels.
so, anyone using custom ROM or kernel can please check and update us if the mic is working properly in your phone, can the other person hear you clearly. can you check any voice recording app and google keep and confirm if the voice recordings are of same volume and clarity.
Thank You.
It exists for everyone and there is no known fix as yet

Ah, so it's not my network then... lots of people saying I'm either very quiet or garbled when I call them. I wonder if the noise cancelling needs tweaking? Could be that it's partially cancelling our voices.

It is indeed believed to be a problem with the noise cancellation algorithm.
some rooted users change a value in their build.prop to "turn it off" but I cannot say for sure it works for everyone.
Waiting for a fix.

i believe its because of noise cancellation.
to check it, i tried using ' ok google ' on my home screen. it wasn't picking up my voice.
then i've closed the secondary mic on top with my finger and said ' ok google ' and it works as it should.
this is working even with my phone calls.

Call Waiting Problem in CM12 or any Lollipop based ROM!!

I have been facing this issue from the time I installed CM12 or any CM12 based ROM. Pretty surprised that there are two or three mentions of this problem in some of the threads but non has replied. Don't know whether its a bug or some intermittent issue. Problem is When I am on a call and a new call comes in(call waiting), my call goes on HOLD automatically and if I reject the new call, my already active call didn't work. I have to disconnect the call and call the person again. This problem is very annoying.
Can anyone please help.

I'm having the exact same problem and have been searching for a solution but no luck. Because of this reason I've been having to go back to KitKat. Does anyone have a solution for this? I have the lollipop one plus modem that I flash every time I flash any lollipop rom
That's what happens when you volunteer to test alpha firmware.
An easy workaround is disable call waiting bc it sucks anyway. Nobody likes to be put on hold. You can have interruption-free calling and extra incoming callers get an old-fashioned busy tone.
Did anyone filed bug for this..

alcatel idol 3 koodo echo problem

i did a update koodo alcatel idol 3 323 mb it fixed lots of issues camera, lock screen double but when i take calls it echos for the other person.
the echo is only for the person on the other end and not for me and it is very little when on earpiece but when i turn on speaker it echo extremely loud for the other person unbearable for them to talk to me. i need to use speaker as when i am driving . please help me out . i wish i did not update , can i go back to the old firmware somehow until this is fix.
i did a factory reset 2 times after the update hope it will fix but it did not. the only way not to exho is put my full ear on earpiece and talk. echo is their with mic headphone and with speaker it gets loud even with the volume down to full. it doesnt echo on viber with ear peice or speaker. so im guessing it is software for dialer app , also tried different dialer app it didnot help. please help
Same issue here since doing the update. This really needs a quick fix.
Edit: I've just sent Alcatel a message, will let you know what they say.

Try to turn off the JBL effects maybe should help because whenever i have this enabled and play music and sometimes i pause it kinda echoes even watching vlogs too in youtube
It is only possible to downgrade if you have a system image and boot backup using fastboot and twrp
I can confirm it is also happening on my device: koodo.
Speakerphone was always bad on my phone before I had to scream at it so people could hear me now its an echo.
My car has Bluetooth so I will be pairing it tomorrow (never bothered before because of laziness)
I only use wifi no sim card. People who receive a Hangout voip call from me and only when l use the speaker phone hear a loud echo of themselves. Speaker off no echo.

Mi4, CM13 echo in calls

Hello,
I have a Mi4 with TWRP and CM13, latest nightly from today, but the problem also occured on the nightlies before.
During calls the other party complains about hearing himself. On the internet I found ideas like:
- disabling the "OK Google"-recognition on every screen (although this held true for Skype-video-calls)
- lowering in-call volume
I did not find any other ideas. Do you have an idea?
EDIT: I also tried two things:
1. entering the following things -> no changes
su
setprop persist.audio.fluence.mode false
setprop persist.audio.handset.mic analog
reboot
2. disabling the mic while calling -> success, the other party has no echo anymore
This of course is no useful solution, as normally a mic is needed for calling.
I'm facing the same problem. Did you find a solution?
nope
Same here.
Posted this in another forum. After trying a few things it appears that microphone is relaying sound from the speaker back to the caller. It's like the microphone is too sensitive so it picks up the callers voice from the speaker.
yes, it is definitely a problem with the mic. as soon as you deactivate it, the other party has no echo anymore.
EDIT: I wonder if this is the case, because in the native MIUI there was a noise-suppression and dual-mic option which may be good for avoiding this problem. I highly doubt CM will implement this specifically for this phone. Right now I am always calling with a headset which works fine.
EDIT: Headset isn't working anymore too. Callers say I am way too silent. Soundrecorder App confirms that mic sensitivity is too low.
I think the solution might be here, thought I am not able to understand completley what they are doing there: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/NIGHTLIES-2619
It should be solved after installing the next nightly:
https://www.cmxlog.com/13/cancro/
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/139932/
Could someone pls give a feedback after installing it? I switched from nightly to snapshot-channel and therefore am not able to check.

Is the problem still existing with the new snapshot release?
I'd like to know that too! I switched to nightlies now and some people I talked with say it's still there, some don't.

I heard from some guys using latest Snapshot that the echo is gone but when they make a hands free call, the speaker and mic is very quiet/ low. So probably the problem is not totally fixed right now.
I'm on Nightly 13/04 right now, no echo at all but the phone is turning of during call (after I tried to turn on the display). Is there another behaviour on the Nightly you are using?
