1) JellyCore v1.3 [JB] fast, smooth and lovely
2) CM 9.1 [ICS] I think this is the best ICS ROM
3) CM 10 [JB] fine, but it isn't ready for use
rom Alliance iam didn't see from like this before its amazing beautiful and very smooth and very very stable and have Super Battery life with from alliance own kernel really its number one.:thumbup:
To be honest, I have tried most of the roms and from all of them I have only 3 Nandroids....
* MIUI [The Only One]
* AllianceRom 2.1
* Team Asylum AOKP
Between these 3 MIUI is my absolute favorite!!

ROM ratings are too subjective, it depends on how you use your phone. No need for threads like this.

I'm currently running a Neapolitan ICS rom that came out a few months ago and I've been having a lot of stability/speed issues with it. Lookign to flash a new ROM but there are so many to choose from.. any suggestion? Most important things to be are stability and speed.. I don't care too much about a fancy feature set.
Thanks in advance
Im running Drew Garens Orca ROM, with matr1x 15.5 and i love it! Very stable

any ics rom now would be better than neapolitan since its using a hacked up gingerbread kernel. so i wouldnt even consider it truly ics since its not using a 3.0.8+ kernel.
I use bixie rom v.1.0.0 with matr1x kernel v.16 - It's really fast stable and smooth. Battery life is also good (just need to tweak some settings).
u can see a review about this combo on nexusshacks website
cheers
I use CyberGr V7. It's awesome.
Stable, Fast, stable and incredible battery. Lot of options and functions.
One word GREAT.
I am currently using CyberGR-MOD|NS.NGN ver. 7.0 Hybrid ICS, it crashes from time to time but for the most part is working fine! I would also remond the CyanogenMod 9 v4.0.3 v2.1 it has less custom features but its only getting better!
PV!
Check out kangs roms (AOKP). There getting lots of positive feedback
Sent from my Nexus S
Cm9 very fast, stable, you can tweak cpu governors, sounds and colors directly in the rom settings
Cyanogenmod 9 v2.1
Cyanogenmod 9 v2.1 runs very stable on my phone! I would definitely recommend it for stable daily use!
Bigxie Crespo Apex v1.02...brilliant. Was on NexusBeam before which was excellent too, But Bigxie ROm has lots of nice features, facebook sync etc.
Never had a reboot with either unless using a different oc'd kernel, So off the shelf Bigxie Crespo Apex v1.02 it is. rock solid. loving it. Don't like the boot graphic so flashed the stock one and its just perfect
CM9 Kang for the win
Nexus S (GSM i9020a)
CM9 Nightly Kang (Build 1 of v2.1)
Eugene's Kernel (Speedy-7)
OC 1100/100 (conservative)
I recommend CyberGRv7 ICS rom. It runs beauty on my nexus s!!
Which is faster.. Alfrix UNofficial CM9 or Dhiru's CM9??
I am currently using Dhiru's CM9.. i think i might switch to Alfrix's because of these three reasons...
* It's Odexed (which is faster than deodexed rom)
* It has an overclocking feature
* Have Governors and Schedulers
dhiru's cm9 is what i prefer !
lol those 3 reasons? Dhirus CM9 also has those. just flash cm9 kernels.
CM 10 is a lot faster. I'm using it now.

I'm on dhiru's CM9 since the last two month. Since I tested many other. I prefer this.

Which cm9 kernel are u talking abt .. is it UC kernel v16??.. is it stable??
I'm using test version of alpha 12 with hwcomposer and performance hacks. Smooth as butter but battery life could be better .

MIUI v4 (android 4.0.4, based on CM0), very cool UI and utilities build-in. Speaker sound is better than CM9. Let's try.
CM10 is faster but has a bug with bluetooth, still not fixed.
alphs is alpha.
use stable gb value pack instead

Using Android, don't afraid to flash ROM, install CWM & backup, then feel free to test new ROM.
Jb is stable, in some way. It's fast, smooth and the camera take good pictures(I tried it during a cookout and it was all fine).
Moreover nobody's using bluetooth except when it's broken
What rom is the most stable?ICS 4.0
On IcySnap i have freez when i run camera :/
Try oxygen ics.No freezes here.
Oxygen 3.0 and Hehappy's Lastkiss ROM
Oxygen ROM (both Gingerbread and ICS version) is a minimalist, not far from naked Android, just a few tweaks, but lightning fast as compared to others(especially ICS and up)
I think I can't say Hephappy's Last Kiss would be better than Oxygen ICS in speed (including gaming), so, choice is up to you. Either gaming, either feature ROMs.

I'd say oxygen but it isn't very fast compared to lastkiss.

How is Battery Backup of OXYGEN rom ????
Most of ICS build runs with most system apps running in background & lead to drain battery a lot.. :X Any Solution /
I feel oxygen has more battery drain. But it's very stable with very few bugs. This rom is aosp based.
Icysnap by neko95 is a Gud stable rom. Also the battery life is Gud. And of course this rom too has few bugs like random reboot etc. This rom is based on cm9. Try both the roms and choose the one.
There is another rom called lastkiss by hephappy. This rom is the base for Icysnap. This rom is the 1st one to get all the ics bugs fixed like the omx drivers. It works great with the caf kernel. Try this too. This is based on cm9.

GenetICS by hephappy is best rom so far !! Using it with default kernel, no random reboot..less battery drain.. phone enters into deep sleep mode!
CPU Perfomance : 320/600 Conservative
I just jumped ship from the galaxy nexus to the Verizon SIII and finally got it unlocked and rooted. So I worked my way over to the development section to pick out a rom and and kernel but was overwhelmed by the amount of choices. So I thought id ask the xda community's opinion on what rom and kernel I should choose?
My only requirements are:
1. Must be stock jellybean (not a huge fan of touch wiz)
2. Performance is a huge factor to me
3. Overclocking options (CPU, GPU, Memory?)
4. Customizable options
Thanks guys!!
AOKP jb-mr1 build 4, lean kernel experimental build 2. Best combo I've used.

Does Wifi Tether work well with Carbon and that kernel? I am running a nightly from CM 10.1, seems to be the only one that has wifi tether working well with 4.2.2
---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:39 PM ----------
I really like Liquid Smooths new rom for 4.2.2. Tons of customization and overclocking. The RC1 came out on Feb 14th and the only issue I had was with Wifi Tether. Once that is fixed I will be using as a daily driver.
You'll probably want to use CM10.1. Has the most up to date fixes and considering this isn't a nexus device there are some issues out there, and the less you have the better. MROM seems like a good choice as well though I've never tried it. CarbonROM had some issue with changing the notification/battery light color (it was broken) but idk if that's been fixed yet.
Another heads-up on the performance side: though AOSP performs much better than TW, it scores significantly lower than TW in certain benchmarks. Do not be alarmed, Samsung is cheating those scores by optimizing databases for those apps.

My current daily driver is carbon ROM with ktoons kernel.

Wifi Tether work for you?
Eclipse Rom! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136671
I use Paranoid Android 3.1 and lean kernel 2.7.3 which lets me over clock to 1.9ghz . The rom has lots of updates and features as well.
AOKP jb-mr1 build 5
-Overclocking
-Themes
If you plan to try multiple ROMs, I'd stay with either a 4.1.x base or 4.2.x base. If you toggle between 4.1 and 4.2 your folder structure is going to get messed up (ie sdcard/0/0/0/0/.....)
PA
I swap between PA3.1 from Notta and MIUI from Strumerjon
I gotta say, the PA builds from Notta have been solid for a while.
Everything that I've tried has worked.
RootBox
I can't believe nobody has mentioned RootBox! Tethering works out of the box you can theme almost everything and it's insanely fast and stable. Highly recommend it!
Jelly bean 4.2.2 (PACMAN ROM)
OR
CYANOGEN MOD 10.1 ?? (kernel 2.x)
As these both roms are of "tech kang"!!!
Should i wait for PACMAN or go with CM 10.1 (kernel 2.x)????
???
PACMAN is modified CM rom.
& its combination of Paranoid Android | CyanogenMod | AOKP Rom's so this roms provides additional features than stock CM,
but like always for stability stock always best so CM best for stability
for all in one features Pacman takes lead...
Pac rom is very slow !
I recommend for you cyanogenmod 10.1.3 kernel 2.x / 3.0 by techkang : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530712
PACMAN rom has features of paranoid android , AOKP and CM rom but if u want stability then u should go for CyanogenMod rom
PACMAN rom has random reboots which irritates a lot.........
