hi, help would higly be appreciated because i think i bricked my beloved tf101g ;(
while testing some roms i used the Super Wipe Full from mike1986 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245892). this script failed - i don`t know why but (sh)it happend.
So my tf (b80, ww-epad-9.2.2.6-20120525) is wiped,
- no rom to start (last bevor wipe was CM10B2 - i think)
- cwm v5.8.1.8 touch starts but
- tells me: e:can`t mount /sdcard/
i spended hours on reading hundrets of "cannot mount" threads here but found no solution to my special situation. already tried several unbrick guides, did a hundred factory resets/formats in cwm, tried to mount data via cwm (error mounting /data), tried another microSD /btw: sdcard does not mean external sd but internal or am i wrong?), .... i cannot access the sdcard, so no way to flash another rom. adb is responding (0123456789ABCDEF recovery).
so, is there any way to use nvflash (b80!) oder adb (in recovery) to
a) get the sdcard back or
b) flash any rom / another recovery to get my tf back to life?
THANKS for any help!!!

look for easyflasher by whitekidney, it might help, it returns u back to stock, then u can root again and install recovery.
Thanks catfishbilly, unfortunalty whitekidney says:
Does NOT work for: TF101G (TF101 3G)
already tried peri 0.4 - which also didn`t helped me out.
not shure wether i did something wrong or tf101g is really not supported.
any other ideas? Thanks in advance!
found this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24007127&postcount=276
Code:
mounted the external sd as /data
mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /data
adb push recovery.zip /data/media/recovery.zip
then go to 5.5.0.4 recovery , install , choose , and boom : recovery.zip ¡¡¡
recovery flashed , and rom flashed
I cant believe how easy it was to end , 5.5.0.4 is finally able to read external sd with this cheat.
AND: SUCCEEDED - Rogue on my tf101g, access to external!
problem with /data/ still exists, hope to find another thread with a solution....
Thanks to this great forum,
Hi
I'm having some problems before super wipe:
I used Super Wipe Full to erase everything because I was facing some problems on it.
I used a lot of rooms before.
Now I can just access CWM and when I try to install the room, it says: "no files found". I think is isnt reading the external sd.
I tried to send the from via cable, but my computer don't install the driver for it. I also tried to install the driver via asus page.
Any solution?
Thank you...

Hi all,
I have recently flashed RevolutionROM with Galaxian kernel onto my SGS I9000.
I then flashed Darky's ROM 10.2.2 to my wife's phone (same model) and love it so want to flash it to mine too. So I need to flash Darky's Resurrection 10.2 first but can't get any PC (I've tried 3 of them - 2 with Ubuntu Linux and 1 with Windows 7) to recognise the phone over USB.
I plug in the USB and it vibrates and charges, but I get nothing on the phone display (i.e. USB mass storage screen) and the PC doesn't detect it at all.
I also tried it in Download mode but it was again not detected by the PC (Heimdall).
I'm figuring there is something wrong with the physical USB connection in the phone, as the same cable and PC worked on my wife's phone just yesterday.
So, a couple of questions:
1. Any suggestion for how to fix the USB issue?
2. Assuming I can't figure out the USB issue, is there any way to flash a ROM without USB connectivity?
thanks
Aaron
Anyone? Thanks

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers on your pc?
Hi,
Thanks, I appreciate your response but ask that you read my original post again - as i stated I tried it on 3 different PCs and that my wife's phone is detected fine.
It seems to be moot now unfortunately as I think I may have bricked my phone last night. I tried restoring a previous nandroid backup via CWM recovery and ended up in a boot loop. I was able to get back to recovery but now when I try to do anything I just get a heap of error messages saying it's unable to mount/find various filesystem locations.
I can get into download mode but without access by USB it is no help to me.
cheers
Aaron
Your device is not bricked. As long as you can get into recovery mode, you are fine. Have you tried using a new SD card, placing a rom on it then flashing it via CWM Recovery?

Thanks Theonew. Can you help me with how to go about that?
When I go into CWM recovery and try to restore a backup it simply shows several messages on the screen basically saying it can't mount or find any of the locations it's looking for (sorry I'm at work and don't have it with me to get the exact error messages) then returns to the recovery menu.
With that, I made the (possibly incorrect) assumption that the recovery is not going to be able to access any ROM that I might be able to put on the external SD card (and certainly not on the internal SD card).
If there's a way to do it though, I'm keen to give it a try. I have a 2GB external card that I can place a ROM on, but how would I get CWM recovery to flash it from there?
thanks
Aaron
Now that I'm back from work, here's the error messages I am consistently getting in CWM recovery.
Pretty much anything I try to do results in a variation of these errors appearing:
This one was after trying to apply update.zip from sd card.
Code:
E:unknown volume for path [/sdcard/update.zip]
E:Can't mount /sdcard/update.zip
Installation aborted.
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/last_log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
Try looking for the zip of the rom instead of the update.zip (install zip from SDcard -> Choose zip from SDcard)
Best bet is just put a new ROM in the root (i.e not in any folder) and look for it and flash make sure to clear out all the old stuff.
Hi, thanks again for the response. There are no actions I can take in CWM that don't result in the errors and failure (except reboot and test keys!)
I can't access anything that is stored as it's not mounting any partitions.
I can't add anything to the root because my USB isn't working.
thanks

Use rom manager. Just hope that you don't get the error during flashing.

Thanks but I can't get into the OS at all, it's boot looping unless I get into download or recovery.
I recently managed to successfully root my TF101.
I installed CWM (Via ROM Manager) and downloaded CM9
I boot into CWM and attempt to do a nandroid...can't find path.
I attempt to just install from SDCard...can't find path
Realization (and research) hits that CWM can't see the external sd, and the system doesn't see it as SDCARD but EXT-.
CWM can't see the internal SDCard because apparently on the Tablet the ICS encryption locks that down (but doesn't on my EVO since the SC Card isn't part of the internal storage)
I attempt to perform a factory data wipe to clear out the encrtyption , but upon reboot CWM loads. I try to perform the boot-launcher data wipe, but then CWM loads.
I try to use CWM to factory reset but since it can see the damned SDCard because of the encryption, no dice.
My machine is not bricked, as I can still boot into the previous install but I can't seem unable to format the thing to install CM9.
What to do, and thanks.
It has been said multiple times before DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER.
Either use Thing O Doom's peri to install a different CWM or Gnufabio's Recovery installer or NVFlash a rom to completely wipe. And don't use encryption there is no point 99% of the time
I didn't check here first, which is obviously what was my first mistake.
Will any of those recoveries be able to access and format the SD Card area?
Also, I use encryption as I do have sensitive things on my machine that I don't want exposed in case the machine is stolen. First time I've ever had it give me a problem, as the phone encrypts differently.
Team roug's recovery has internal and external sd support and i think the encryption is an ics/tegra 2 bug more than anything
Ok, so I managed to get the new recovery on via Thing O Doom's peri. And I was able to install Revolver via the ext card...but upon boot I was prompted for my encryption pin and got the message that android was updating...My Build number is now Revolver but everything is the same as it was. I still can't factory wipe this damned thing.
Upon request to wipe, it boots back to recovery and says formatting data and cache, data wipe failed.
Tis site states http ://0xfeedface.org/blog/lattera/2012-06-04/installing-cm9-encrypted- android-tablet
The dilemma
When you encrypt your Android device, the /data partition is what gets encrypted. The partition in full is encrypted and cannot be mounted within CWM. CWM also cannot perform a wipe, since it cannot mount the /data partition. And CWM cannot mount the external SD card. This is our dilemma. No access to the internal SD. No access to the external SD. No way to perform a wipe and format the internal SD from CWM.
The Solution
What we need to do, then, is use adb while the tablet is in recovery mode to reformat the internal SD card, thereby removing the encryption. On the US Transformer Prime, the internal SD card is at /dev/block/mmcblk0p8. The partition for our spare SD card will be at /dev/block/mmcblk1p1. You will need to replace those device entries for any other device you might attempt this on. After formatting the internal SD card, we will mount it and then mount the external SD card at /data/media:
In CWM, wipe cache
adb shell
mke2fs -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 # Warning: This can take a while. Be patient.
mount /data
mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /data/media
Now go back to CWM on your device, then go ahead and flash your CM9 and gapps zips like normal. You now have CM9 installed! The /data partition is not encrypted. If you do not need to flash any other ROMs (unlikely if you're reading this article), feel free to re-encrypt your device.

I don't know the block numbers for the TF01
you need to undo the encryption before you can wipe anything
You can't. Hence my problem. I cannot mount, delete, or format the SDCard. It sounds like the process in the above post is the solution, but I don't know how to find out what block numbers the tf101 uses.
If you don't mine losing your data NVflashing a rom will resolve all the problems
Yep nvflash will do the trick otherwise as the solution you found yourself explains
Use adb in recovery ( in other words hook it up on a pc ) for this you will need android sdk runnin on your pc
More info about adb u can find here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751439&highlight=adb+help
Good luck
Thanks to all, I have resolved my issue!
I had to download the stock rom, extract the blob, and use Wheelie for PC to NVFlash everthing abck to stock. I was then able to update over OTA, and use the excellent Thing O Doom's peri to re-root and flash the working recovery.
There should be several items in the Root FAQ up top, such as:
If you are encrypted and going to root, factory reset to get rid of the encryption FIRST since the encryption locks down the SDCARD partition (Unlike on the phone)and none of the recoveries can access it to mount. DON"T use ROM manage on the TF101 and always, always check XDA first.

That FAQ is sadly pretty outdated, I wish I could liberate the OP
Glad all is working now though.
Have a Telstra One XL 1.89 - after hours of reading/researching I finally rooted the phone and flashed TWRP (ver 2.2.2.0) recovery with a custom ROM.
Everything was working fine until I tried to install a different ROM - I made a backup via TWRP, installed the new ROM but it wouldn't boot ... no worries I had the backup ... I accidentally selected FACTORY RESET from the bootloader instead of RECOVERY which seemed to have wiped all my data on the internal SD card - so my backup has been wiped.
I'm still able to access TWRP so I thought I could simply mount my SD card to my computer and copy my old ROM to flash - however I can't mount the SD card from TWRP - TWRP's console is throwing up "E:failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument)" and "E:Unable to mount /sdcard when trying to read settings file." errors - hence in the Mount menu, I can't check the "Mount SDCard" checkbox! (WTF?) - I Google'd this and someone advised that you will need to partition the SD card from within TWRP before it will allow you to mount it - I tried partitioning it but still throwing up those errors
I can also access the device from command prompt via adb - so I tried to flash a rom directly via fastboot but it throws up a "FAILED (remote: not allowed)" when it tries to flash it.
What are my options here? Am I completely screwed? I'm currently in the process of downloading the Telstra RUU - will this even work in my case?? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated - pulling my hair out here ... 2 week old phone
The RUU will make it all better
just lock your bootloader again before you run it

Hey mate,
RUU will work but before you do just try mounting it through twrp then plugging it into your pc.
When you're in the mount menu in twrp make sure you hit mount usb storage for Windows to recognise it.
When I did this I got a prompt in Windows that said it needed to format the drive so I formatted it then just copied over the rom I wanted to flash then unmounted and flashed the rom.

Here it goes, Yesterday I was cleaning up my Sensation's SD Card, and, being the idiot that I am, removed some files on there to do with Clockworkmod Recovery. Here is whats happening
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clockworkmod Recovery (touch) v5.8.0.9
- My system won't boot, stays on HTC splash screen
- Recovery won't mount my SD card (E:Can't mount /sdcard/)
- Recovery won't mount USB storage either (E:Unable to open lunfile (No such file or directory))
- I tried installing a deodexed HTC sensation stock rom before this happened
- There is no recovery to reinstall -_-
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, I want any of you awesome guys at XDA to try and help me unbrick this device if possible
I do have a sync cable if thats of any use and thats about it...
Thanks in advance :crying:

Hi,
Firstly,if you can get to your bootloader, you are not bricked.
Try installing 4 EXT recovery.
Look HERE (2. Flashing a recovery)
Then,try re-installing your ROM.
It's WORKING :L
It somehow decided to mount my SD card which had CM9 on it and all is working now! :highfive:
Thanks for your help though :L
Hi,
I flashed CleanROM over Cromi (why .. i don't know.. tired certainly).
So .. it won't boot ..and .. i format all the TF700 (why .. i don't know.. tired .. no doubt).
And now ? Stuck on Asus screen (the very first) no os installed but access to recovery (twrp 2.6).
What i tried ?
- Fastboot .. ok .. i flash twrp, cwm .. ok but
- adb .. device detected but Read-Only File system .. impossible to push anything
- adb sideload in trwp .. device not detected on adb command line
- naked driver .. i tried .. but it won't install (files not found ???)
- Always USB MTP Device failed to install
- SDCard unable to mount in twrp (always after format in fat32)
I tried many things but impossible to put any .zip on /sdcard ...
Can I reroot without OS installed ?
Any idea ?

You probably didn't mount your system correctly. You can try this and see if it works out for you. You need to boot into your TWRP and select mount. Then you need to select your internal SD as your mounting SD and tick all the check boxes in the mount option. From here, you can start to install your new rom from your external SD. Good luck.. :fingers-crossed:

You can try to format your external SD as Fat32 with Gparted and set it as primary partition. TWRP probably can't read your SD with a current format. Good luck.
Downgrade to TWRP 2.5.0.0 (2.6.0.0 is buggy) and reflash CROMI or CROM-X (which ever you had working). Old CleanROM won't be compatible with the newer bootloaders
