Weird ghost screen issue - HTC Sensation

My sensation has suddenly started to get ghost screen issues when its not on charge, while its being charged its fine, not a single problem, as soon as it comes off charge it acts up, tried adding the foil and bending the pin out, not worked. Any one got any ideas how to fix it or whats wrong with it?
Cheers

Well my next question is, if it really is completely stock... Is it still under warranty?
If it's not under warranty anymore, you could try flashing a custom ROM. I don't believe you will look back!

Its not under warranty any more, any suggestion for what ROM to use?

No it's not the same, it's not rooted or tampered with, and the installation method is different. If you want to completely unroot your phone go flash the stock ruu
We don't need people like you complaining about roms you don't like, but you don't see me posting about that now do you?
The rom link is finished, and please don't flame me for sharing this "stock" "untampered" ota rom, thanks!

You did ask if we needed another. A RUU is essential for every official update IMHO
Yeah TBH, I just made this for myself to safely flash the official ruu to see how it runs without loosing my eng spl and custom recovery. And I must say it does seem to run very well for me

No you will not loose those things. The first post describes how to get into bootloader after flashing the update. Only your system partition (rom) and kernel will be the official ruu images.
I just noticed there may be a problem with the name of the .zip. There is a gap in the name so you will probably have to rename it and delete the gap in order for the recovery to be able to flash it.
I will work on fixing it later on but for now renaming it won't hurt the update at all
Thanks again, you have just created my new "fall back plan"...

Yeah this is good to unroot back to the latest factory update
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA Premium App
This is also good for devs to get a chance to try the stock ota if they want to mess around with it. That was the main reason for this update. Hopefully someone will help to get the bootloader unlocked for people who buy a new evo shift . But luckily this update doesn't already have the locked bootloader in it

I just flashed this, and with all my problems, it flashed, but when i reboot, i get to the sprint splash screen, and it just blinks there. So I am currently restoring back to my problematic rom. How can I get the blinking away? That's the only problem.
Are you wiping your system partition?
Sent from my CyanoSpeedy
the updater-script wipes system, data, so that is strange.

[Q] Haptic / Softkeys stopped working

I have a major issue, my softkeys randomly desided to stop working. No matter what I do or what rom I flash (im currently on stock) they will not work nor will they light up. Does anyone have any answers for this? Please help.
Bump for help
try flashing stock kernel or any other kernel like faux123's or da_g's or romracer's and see that helps.

I don't know if this might help, but seeing has how you've not had much luck so far... besides you've probably already tried this... but hey.
I had a Motorola V9x and for no apparent reason, all the keys on it stopped working... except the power... anyway, I brought it up to a full charge than took the battery out for about 3 days.. when I replaced the battery, the phone worked again... still don't know what caused the problem. BTW, before that last 3day battery pull, I had tried for increasingly long intervals where the keys would show some signs of life.

If you are rooted, try a 3e recovery, here is the thread on how to do it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446566 Follow the directions to the letter, it can't hurt to try this.
Thanks for the input, I currently have the battery pulled. Will update!
Well I've tried everything that people posted on here. Thanks for your suggestions, but my phones softkeys are still not working. Wish I could warranty it but my carrier and Samsung refuse to fix it. LAME!
bump? I still have this problem
I had a problem with that on my I 9000 and I asked around forever and I'm pretty sure it was a hardware problem. Gotta replace it.

I recently have this issue with the softkey as well.
just started to happen yesterday. It would randomly not work and I have to pull battery and it works again after that. Was on the SkyICS rom since Dec and no issues. Just recently popped up.

Hi,
Roms certainly take a little while to settle down.
So,to get any idea of how they work for you,it is worth trying for a couple of days.
If you just hate it,then change it.
I used to flash like 3-4 roms a day now I do once in a while only.. And no it doesn't harm your device but if you don't like a rom because it's draining battery fast or either because it's slow you need to let it settle down for 1-2 days at least then you can proceed whit a change...
Sent From My Sexy Sensation.
Yes in the long run its probably not so good to flash a lot of roms but I'm guilty of this myself. Hopefully it wont cause too much damage because I just love trying new roms.

Hi,
Are you having those issues?

My Findings With TWRP

Well I was using Clockwork Mod. Then I foolishly Installed Clean Rom 4.5 final while using clockwork mod..got a soft brick -:splash screen would not boot...no access to the recovery...could not flash a recovery...but access to boot-loader :-...
Got the bricked sorted out and decided to move to TWRP..That didn't go well at all
Issues found after flash
1: Google contacts would not sync at all...no matter Rom I used
2: My dialer crashed...no matter Rom I used
Moved back to clockwork and all issues was solved
This Is only my observation and It may be different to others

If you have nothing good to say its best you keep your rear shut..if you don't agree why comment..
No one here can prove that my issue wasn't caused by TWRP..what I do know is that when I used TWRP I had those issues then I went back to CWM and It didn't.
In all rom installation I did full system wipe..and the Issue only happened with TWRP
A recovery causing rom issue ? First one i hear hey reflash the same rom whit twrp and let us know how it goes smarty..

Did it more than once and it didn't happen with cmw and yes a recovery can cause a rom issue
way back in the htc desire days certain rims could not be flash using certain recoveries because it caused issues...some users found that with a certain recovery the rom was more stable than the other
Just beware flashing something with an aroma installer with cwm. Bad mojo.
Lol make your OP clear you have flashed a rom whit a recovery not recommended FOR the rom ...
You didn't know it so you post this ..
I guess all you had to do on the rom thread is either read OP clearfully or ask of it is ok to flash whit twrp

yes it happened to me too google contacts sync and dialer crash and yes i found that twrp is the culprit of not clearing the data correctly.onle fix i found is switching recovery to cwm, clear the data, switch back to twrp and install a new rom and worked for me.
I've been using TWRP since the beginning on multiple One X's and never have had a problem.
Maybe OP didnt wipe correctly..

i love it, being able to mount usb storage from recovery is convenient and important (saved me from having to lock bl, then flashing stock)

As I said the soft brick was because I used the wrong recovery..that wasn't the issue..I already sorted that out..
my phone was stock..I rooted then flash TWRP then started flashing roms and I noticed the issue after that..I wasn't asking for help on this thread
all I was doing was letting people know what was happening to me while i was using that recovery..If xda belongs to the guys that never made a mistake while using a phone and don't want no one else to post then i wont..but all I was simply doing was letting people know what brought me to that point

thank you for pointing that out...maybe someone else might start having issues and think the problem is the phone then they will see TWRP was the culprit ....this is part of what XDA is about

I did all the wipe TWRP menu had to offer but TWRP was not wiping clean enough
Some people were made perfect and never made a mistake..they can do any and or everything so since there is nothing else to do with the life that they have they will sit and read a post and would be quick to make a judgment or start calling names..I admitted I made a mistake and I fixed it..then I found an issue while using TWRP only to point it out...The person that made the recovery may see an issue in the recovery that could be affecting certain phones and fix it..or someone else might had a similar issue and just give some input about it..
most of us are here because we like tweaking what we have and in doing so some make mistakes and others learn from it..its what XDA is about
Google contacts and dialer being messed up are known issues with CWM. They persist even after flashing other ROMs. It was likely a residual issue from CWM, not TWRP.

[Q] How to get ATT One x back to stock 2.20?

I am running Nocturnal Special Edition 4.0 and I would like to get it back completely to stock, I have tried the 2.20 RUU and it would tell me my battery wasn't charged enough though it was, I also tried looking further into the Q&A and got confused and fragmented. So, for short, what do I need to do to wipe this thing to complete stock? I am quite new here so please pardon me. Thank you.

Small but noticeable bugs, and i'm kind of tired of worrying about my phone all the time, I just want a phone for a phone right now. Yeah I won't have warranty but at least I'll feel safe knowing my phone will not explode in my hand. Aha, my feelings are strange but I hope you get the point.
