[Q] Root on 4.1 - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all,
i want to ask you guy's if there is already a root tool for JB 4.1 because all the tool's in the android developer's forum are for 4.0 .
So is there any tool that root's 4.1 ?
Thank you

After you unlock the bootloader using the tool from Asus's site (yes, the ICS unlock tool works on JB), follow step #3 from the link in this thread.

As of now, there are no root tools for 4.1 without unlocking. Only option os before upgrading from .30 firmware install SuperSU and backup the root using rootkeeper. Restore root using rootkeeper.
You can always unlock your tablet like mentions in the previous post.
Will have to wait for devs to figure some method to root with locked JB bootloader.

The method I linked works.
Is it seriously too much work to revert to an older version, gain root, save root, then update and regain root?
If it is, maybe you shouldn't be bothering?
Just Root using Universal Xoom Root, then flash the latest Super User from here http://androidsu.com/superuser/ using CWR I used the Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip from then I gained root on 4.1.1

I'm afraid it didn't work.
I tried the oldest version though, the only one with the sh script.
Hello,
I managed to run the latest version and it seems we've got a problem. Apparently Transformers and Nexus 7 are not "permeable" to the exploit.
Needs to be investigated, there is a post in the Nexus 7 section...

[Q] TF300T upgrade 4.1.1 to 4.2.2

Hi!,
I have my asus TF300 unlock in version 4.1.1 with the BlueROM (this is since Oct 2012).
I would like to go for 4.2.2 (mainly flash 11 support is the cause)
Ive been searching and I can see a lot of brick devices...
Mine is already unlocked and rooted in 4.1.1
Is there any guide to go for 4.2.2?
Do I need to:
- update bootloader
- install room
- root 4.2?
Or what? I am confused...
update done with success!

hey im in the same boat. im on an old CROMI rom 4.1( rooted and unlocked boot loader) and i want to go to stock 4.2 and then re-root.
how did you complete this. im worried about bricking it.
i was planning on flashing the stock 4.2 (10.1.6.15 update) from asus then rooting it with the new method to avoid bricking.
is this what you did?

Rooting Xperia L 4.2.2

Hi community, I have flashed Android 4.2.2 Generic World FTF using Flashtool to my Xperia L C2105, now I want to root it, but I don't know, how to do it. I have found this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307983 and there is reference to thread with 4.2.2 root, but I can't go on this webpage, there is some error.
Can somebody give me some tutorial how to root XL working on Android 4.2.2, or explain me?
I have also found Motochopper method, somebody told me that it is right way to root my phone, but I'm not sure because I have read somewhere that Motochopper works only on some Motorola devices.
Maybe I will sell my phone in 3-4 months so I'll need a warranty back, so there should be a way to unroot the phone.
Sorry for my english
Thanks for help, greetings.
The methods that exist to root 4.2.2 firmware on Xperia L are considered unsafe :-/ Therefore the page was removed by xda's mods
And the motochopper method you read about was meant for android 4.1
To unroot you can always restore your device to original firmware, using pc companion, Sony Update Service or flashtool
Ok, thanks. When you say, that root on 4.2.2 is unsafe, do you mean that I won't be able to flash soft back at all? But does some method to root 4.2.2 exists?

Unsafe means those software are suspected to be malicious, more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46246819&postcount=1
Okay, thanks. Someone can close the thread, nvm, I'll wait till there will appear some safe and working way to root.
Thank you all.

You can try this method...root 4.2
Rooting using Kingoroot and vroot is risky.. It and IMEI number of your device to their server in China.. And we don't know what it does.. So be careful and don't use these 2 methods
