Making N64oid Run Faster?

As of now, I'm using a Samsung Fascinate with the 1Ghz processor, and N64oid runs most games acceptably. But I want to squeeze out some more performance when I play the N64 emulator as long as I have this single core phone with 512mb of ram.
Now what confuses me is why the phone is not running this flawlessly because the N64 itself only had ~100Mhz CPU and at most 8mb of RAM. So why the phone doesn't run this completely without any effort is beyond me.
My question comes down to this; is there ANYTHING I can do to improve the way the phone handles N64oid to play games smoother?

Try rooting it and overclocking it. My n64 emulator ran fine on stock but I hate sense ui and rooted just to change and overclock and it runs near perfect now when I play super smash bros.

I've done both actually. Doesn't really help. I think it has to do with the emulator itself possibly. I hear SS Bros runs damn good already, better than most games. My main concerns are Starfox 64 and Harvest Moon 64 at the moment. Those 2 I play the most. Can you give me a link to the Super Smash Bros rom? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I believe I got mine from romhustler, I don't remember. And I read somewhere in these forums that the dev pulled it from the market and is working on a better version due to complaints. But yea, google romhustler, if not that, try emuparadise, I always get roms from those sites.

SSB works. Just beat Single Player just now lol.
Still don't know how I can speed up the emulator though. Would be great if I could maybe overclock to 1.5Ghz but I feel that would still yield nothing.

Ha, I'm on CM7 but flashed faux123's kernel on it and flashed this stock gingerbread launcher thing I found somewhere in these forums. I love it.

Is it just me, or is n64oid no longer available in the market?

It isn't, someone made a thread about it earlier. They dev took it off due to complaints, so he is/they are (?) working on it now.

Order & Chaos for Infuse

Has anyone successfully installed Order & Chaos on the Infuse? Seeing as the Infuse is such a close cousin to the Galaxy S phones and most of those phones officially support O&C, it seems like it should work fine on the Infuse but I haven't seen any threads about it.

it appears to be one of those high quality game loft games. they code games for the hardware and they may check the build.prop for compatability, so even a compatible device might not play the game if they havent added the device to there supported list. if it is in the market it may work if it is gameloft website only you may need to register the phone number and claim what carrier you have, they haven't really been supporting att devices for some reason, i didnt have much success downloading there games by anyones instruction but others claim it works. good luck, let us know your results!
i hate that they have all the checks because anyone with root and chianfire 3d can run games for other chipsets just fine. why not detect the gpu and cpu and have one universal install that has coding for several different api's? would it make the game that much bigger?

Yeah, it basically is WoW for your phone. I've been playing it for a couple of months on an old iPhone 3GS, an HTC Inspire and on my ASUS Transformer. If an MMORPG is your cup of tea, I can't recommend Order and Chaos enough.
Anywho, Order & Chaos is not officially supported on the Transformer but I was able to get it to work by rooting it, downloading the game cache manually, and using Titanium Backup to install an "all devices" version of the game. I haven't rooted the Infuse yet and I was hoping there would be a way to install Order & Chaos without rooting but it sounds like rooting might be the only way.

If you're up to try it, follow the instructions here:

Download the cache file referenced there and unzip it to /gameloft/games . Then PM me your email address and I'll send you the download link to the Titanium Backup backup of the game (I would post it here but I think it's considered warez). Then you unpack the TiBu backup to /TitaniumBackup , open TiBu, and restore the game from there.
Edit: I should mention that I don't know of this will actually work on the Infuse but this is how it worked on the Transformer.

Worked great, took a little bit to download and set up but seems to be fun. I believe I was granted 30 days of trial time...do you know what the cost will be afterwards?

with branding and market keys you won't see every app. use http://market.android.com to see all the apps. apps will push to the phone, or you can get the site from the phone if you change the useragent in the browser.

It is incompatible with the Infuse. I was looking at it yesterday and the market through the browser said it was a no go. I was disappointed, honestly.

It's not officially supported, but it works just fine. I don't understand why Gameloft does this with some of their games - they make their games available only for specific devices - but Order & Chaos definitely works with the Infuse. Use the .apk that zeus408 provided (I think it was the 9th post in this thread).

Downloaded and plays fine on my infuse but wont download on my buddies motorolla droid. I used the same apk as I did on my phone.

Weird, just downloaded this on my work pc, then e-mailed it to my gmail. In the e-mail, next to the attachment, when viewing on my phone, there is an "Install" button right there in the e-mail, which acted just like .apk installer. Is that a feature of APK installer, or what? Either way, that's pretty damn cool...

A little app called MirrorOP Sender. Fully functional Android display mirror to PC and it runs fairly well.
Just played the first level of Super Mario Bros with only 1 death...Streamed from my Play to my PC connected to my TV through HDMI
All you need is the MirrorOP Receiver for the PC and you're good to go:

The sender app is only a trial but it's worth a test. I'm not sure if the framerate is connected to how good your internet connection is. My internet isn't that good and it displays fine (portrait and landscape) but from some American speedtests I've seen maybe some of the Americans in here might have better results

Not to mention its like THE EASIEST PHONE TO ROOT EVER. None of those ridiculous tools that Motorola phones need to achieve root, no worry of s-off or any of that crap. I pity the Foo who doesn't zergrush his Xperia PLAY first thing.

Not worth paying for yet as just to slow for games. Can test out first as the apps are free for demo time. But this does have lots of potential in the long run. Still early days yet but if see how good splashtop is, this app good just be as good and fast with some more work done to it.

Has anyone used this to stream" Miirror" the same image, like a movie, to multiple devices(i have some android phones, an I pad, note10.1) and i would like to mount them in my car, or share a presentation at work to multiple devices,etc and have all play the same video at once.

exactly my point!

If even doable many many man hours of work for a port just for two minutes of play time. Can't see it being doable.

I play Nintendo but on my jb phone. Sounds like a big under taking. About as bad as a sense rom.

If you are on an AOSP rom that has Theme Chooser, perhaps there is a classic android theme out there that you can use. In addition, you can use a launcher that appears like the classic android launcher. This way it's relatively less work and the feeling is more or less the same,

I still play nintendo. Emulators don't quite do some games justice.
A more apt analogy would be "Do you still run Windows 95?"
The theme idea is probably best, you get a nostalgic look, but keep the stability and functionality of 4.1 or whatever you're running.
I wonder how many people could be nostalgic for something that is only 4 years old though?

GTA Vice City Official Release (Not so fast!)

It's official. Grand Theft Auto was now released (for the second time...) on the Play Store. Here it is:

But not so fast for us HTC One S users. We don't have full support yet according to THIS list (more official support list on the apps Play Store site). The One X && XL are supported, so we HAVE to be supported soon as well. If not, it's petition time boys and gals. For me, on the Play site, it says the app is not supported in my country (USA) so I guess that hints to no official support yet? Comments?

How did you guys get a hold of it?
EDIT: I think I know what you guys mean now. Sorry I was tired. Regardless to say, I did contact a support agent at R* and they are looking into official support for our device as of current.

I swear they had support for one s but dropped it :-\ its not due to specs because the xperia play with its single core has support.

I have a constant crackling noise at the background. The initial sound is ok and doesn't crack. But at the background there is that constant noise...

Maybe make a titanium backup and try to restore it on the One S? Make a backup first of your ROM.

I brought it for my nexus 7 and have it on my one s but each time I get in a car the game freezes and reboots my phone, probably why they dropped HTC One S support.

ViperOneS, Z's kernel with GPU overclock and CPU overclock to 2.1ghz. Works flawless, super fast frame rate. Practically no slow downs or freezes at all. Love it.

UPDATE: New version 1.03. It now shows up in the Play store (never did before) but it says the current version number is not compatible. This must mean they are making some progress Will keep this thread up to date on any news.

Tried the new update. Same issue with the driving freezing the game until you leave the car.
