EXT4 SD - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

Hello everybody
I have got a question. If I partition my SD card via ROMmanager or CWM, all my data is lost on the SD card? Thanks for answers !
Greetings...

Yeah. Do a Backup of all the important stuff first.

But for what is this partition then?

2nd partition is used to install apps on it
so in a way it will give you more memory but the second partition must be ext3/ext4

Installation:
If you previously used the DarkTemor version you will have to backup your data and do a full wipe including /sd-ext before installing this version.
If your sdcard is already partitioned, the below installation is not necessary. Wipe cache and install.
NANDROID BACKUP
If already using MIUI, perform a miui backup to retain apps and settings.
Backup your SD Card to your computer.
Boot into ClockworkMod or TeamWin recovery to partition your sdcard (recommend size is 512mb, partition type ext4). THIS WILL WIPE YOUR ENTIRE SDCARD. After partitioning is completed, boot back into ROM
Restore your SD Card data
Copy Rom to sdcard
Boot into recovery and Format DATA and CACHE partitions.
Install ROM
Restore apps and settings from MIUI backup
NOTE: THIS ROM IS FULLY OPTIMIZED and also includes the latest GAPPS.
Enjoy!

By trying this a2sd version(which I love BTW) we will have to wait to update from this thread correct? And not from the miui updater. Just wanted to clarify.

You don't need a thread for this. DarkTremors a2sd is already in a app on the market.

Yes. If the update is available from MIUI it will be here as well.
Quick question when I partition my SD card through clockwork mod recovery it doesn't give me the option of choosing ext 4 or 3 it ask for the ext size and swap after I choose those two it starts partition, takes like 2-3 mins then says done. My question is shouldn't it give me the option to choose with ext I want???

I think your right. Twrp and my own recoveries on rom manager are all ext4. Either of those should work fine.

So this Rom will work with ext 3 partition??

You don't need another recovery to partition your sd card. There are plenty of tools for your PC that you can use to create an sd ext.

Well I use TeamWin cuz it's simple and it gets the job done! I have also done it using CWM and found that it left me with questions but still does the job fine. I like straight forward and to the point. TeamWin does that for me. My opinion!

Yep, I read a lot of stuff before making my first post and this was one of the things I wanted as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060356
I've yet to root mine since there are conflicting reports on various different versions/roms with problems reading sd cards.
darkmans's 4.1.2 stock-deodexed for 8000 looks good but smaw's 8010 fix is only available for 4.1.1 :crying:

Help with device

I need help figuring out how to use the actual sd card on my lg-l38c optimus dynamic. I can't figure it out and its rooted

How do you mean "how to use the actual sd card"?
Do you mean that your phone isn't detecting the SD card? Then simply format it to FAT32 (if you have CWM recovery installed on your phone you can format it from there).
No i mean i can't save the apps to it and am getting the low memory warning on my phone.

What partitions do you have on your external SD card?
Mention them from first to last, with the size and type of each one....

[Q] Nandroid CWM

Ii want to make a nandroid of my Tab through CWM, but i have no space for it... there's any way to select only /data to be backup?
You can backup to external sd.

I have a 2GB sdcard for Music only... :\
Nowadays an 8 gb micro sd is really cheap
Otherwise your only solution is titanium backup, so you can save only your app data.

[Q] Memory Card Format

Hey guys,
I had been experimenting with my new SanDisk 32GB Ultra (Class 10) for S2+ and created partitions to try Link to SD.
Though I'm not much satisfied with Link 2 SD and i personally feel Folder Mount does a much better job I need to make one single partition again for my memory card. Now the problem is which File Format should I opt for my card.
I have the following
NTFS, FAT32 & exFAT. I do not remember which format was my card earlier at. Any help ? At the moment i have formatted it in Fat32.
Also is there a way I can get FolderMount Pro for free ?
