So my HTC One S is dead.. I am trying to charge it, but rather than the usual solid orange light (or amber..), I have got a flashing orange light.
It does not appear to be charging, the device will not turn on. Using an unbranded device on Orange UK network.
Thanks
Are you using the stock charger ?
I had that same problem.
My phone was low battery and eventually died. I plugged it in and it started blinking orange. I kept it plugged in for a few more minutes, and eventually it stopped blinking, fully charged, and the phone is working perfectly like it never happened.
Can't explain the blinking orange light but it's never happened again.
It blinks orange when it was completely dead or very close to complete dead just leave it on charge for a few hours and it will charge like normal

Hi out there,
have a problem with my XDA II...it just can't turn on.. I was using it and suddenly it just went dead..might be due to low batt...went back and charged it, only shows the red led light that goes off after awhile..but still dead phone...anyone encoutered this before?
Thanks in advance
Louis
Red light, do you mean orange/amber?
I get amber when charging and green when charged (complete). Red to me would indicate lack of a charge entirely or extremely low. Make sure you are actually charging unit.
I mean red as in...when you get a miss call or low battery situation.
My hox is rooted and bootloaderr unlocked. A few hours ago it ran out of juice, and now it wont turn on. When I plug it into the charger i get a flashing red led but nothing else. Anyone know how to fix this?
Just leave it for ten minutes, then try turning it on, that worked for me.
Flashing red light means the battery is too low to power on. Wait till the red light quits flashing and you will be able to power on the phone...

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have an Idea what fast blinking amber light means on DS?
My battery was low around 2% and I connected it to the stock charger and started watching a movie, after 10 mins or so my phone switched off and amber colored light started to flash, I am not able to switch it on now and after 30 mins or so even the blinking light went off.
Had Aplha CM10 ROM flashed and was working normally till now keeping my fingers crossed that it is not bricked. Please tell me it is not:crying:
EDIT:
Solved: Finally revived my phone by directly charging the battery from the USB port of my laptop. Seems the battery went too flat to charge itself in the phone.

Did it start charging when you connected the charger? when the desire S has no battery at all, and you connect the power, the light blinks, meaning that it hasn't got enough power to boot
So just make sure the charger works and leave it charging for a couple of minutes untill you get the classic charging LED on, and then try to boot again

Thanks TataoValverde, so I guess it is not bricked. I had left the phone connected to the charger overnight but still it doesn't boot so it means it is not charging. Now nothing happens not even blinking light
So is there anyway i can revive it??
Make sure the battery is making connection - use a piece of paper to hold it firmly in place if necessary.
Try a different charger - any USB one should be fine.
Or buy a new battery as its much cheaper than a new phone.
If the charging circuitry on the phone is screwed then there is nothing you can really do unless you fancy changing the main board.
I am rooted and my Verizon GS3 will not turn on. Not sure what happened. It was not due to flashing because I hadn't flashed a rom; I noticed my phone was off so I plugged it in and went back to it in about an hour and it still would not turn on.
I tried pulling the battery. When I plug the phone in with the battery in it vibrates and then the battery screen comes on but immediately disappears (the red power LED is never on either). If I pull the battery out while the phone is still plugged in the red power LED flashes on and then off.
If I plug the phone in with no battery the red power LED comes on for about 2 seconds and the phone vibrates; the LED goes off but then nothing shows on the screen.
Is this a brick? What can I do? I am going to charge the phone overnight and see if it turns on in the morning.
Thank you in advance.

On my replacement tab running latest 3.1.1 my battery light blinks green orange after charging overnight. Once I open the smart cover, it shows charged and then the light changes green. No other problems I can tell and the battery temp seems OK in gsam. I am using an Anker charger that I used previously with the old tab. I am going to disable xposed and charge with the stock charger to see if it does the same thing.
Anyone else experience this? Thanks.
I have seen this when charging the tablet in the OFF state. It seems to blink when it's done charging. Went away when I booted it.
I also have a similar problem. The led light of my replacement tablet:
1. blinks all the time (orange green) when tablet is fully charged. This happens when the replacement tablet during charging is switched off.
2. is aproximatly 30 second green then starts blinking (orange green) and then is orange and after a while is again green then again starts blinking and this happens over and over again. This happens when the replacement tablet during chargning is powered on.
There is never solid green charging led light even if I have tried to use diferent chargers
I hope this is not a serious problem which could damage the battery of the replacement tablet. I have never seen something like that during charging of different android devices.

I had the same problem. Then it quit charging completely. I did some searching online and found a solution. Turns out the green wire from the battery had come loose. Soldered the green wire back in to place and it works. No more blinking and it's charging.
If you are going to do this, please be careful when removing the black tape strip. You may accidentally pull some of the other wires soldered to the board.
Hope this helps.
