L2_hsic issue - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

Hello guys,
I just found an issue and maybe is a kernel-related one. Battey drained crazily(more than 30%) during the last several hours when I was asleep. I checked the statistics in Betterbatterystats and found that "L2_hsic" kept my phone awake for over 7 hous. (ROM: 4.0.4 Austria , kernel: XXLQ9 )
And this issue was also found in other Samsung devices like Galaxy Note. Here I learnt that it might be due to some codes in kernel.
Please check this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656705
Maybe our devs can kindly help to remove or modify the codes in the kernel or find other solutions. Thank you so much!

Yes, it is a known bug in other devices as well.
Simply shutdown the phone, pull out the battery, re-insert and reboot. The problem will be gone!
Also, try not to detach your USB cable when phone screen is off. Always screen on the phone, go to your home screen, and unplug your USB. This could help to prevent the l2_hsic wakelock problem

Well...thanks for your reply. Actually I flashed ardatdat's latest kernel before but something weird happened, by which I mean it always said that my tf card had been removed. Then I flashed stock kernel XXLQ9 and had it solved. And I just don't know whom I should PM and how many people I should PM before I get this solved. Plus I also wanna know if there's any similar issue like this in our forum because I just searched but found no such post. So I started a new thread. Sorry if I bother you guys.

Thank you ardatdat. I reboot my phone then it's gone. Before this I never paid attention to whether it's awake or not and it seemed nothing special happened. But maybe I should always wake up my phone and then make it discharged from now on. Can this issue be fixed in kernel? Or already fixed in your kernel? Hope I didn't ask for too much.

You are welcome. As this problem has no solution in this moment, therefore, I could not say I have fixed it in the kernel. The cause is still a 'mistery'. Thanks.

Buddy, just PM to anybody in this forum & yes If no reply found then can make a thread bt can ask at Kernel & ROM thread first:victory:. As your problem is solved, now can close this thread.:highfive: Also, You can press thanx button to Ardatdat for Help rather then saying to it(sometimes words speak & sometimes THANKS button speak louder than word). Unfortunately, my all thanks is over for today else I can give it to adratdat on your behalf.

Glad you found an answer my friend

I think so, but considering how small it is, it could be important, as they may have found something that needed patching on the previous version.
Radio is still working fine for me, noticing maybe better battery use?
There was also an ril file in the package, which I'm going to look at when I get home, so I might add that as well.

I think the previous has lower battery consumption during Screen Off/Sleep.
on my Log (Battery Monitor Widget History) on 08:54 I put the Phone to Sleep/Screen Off up to 10:27 and as you can see it doesn't stick to 8 or 9ma for too long on Sleep State. will try to monitor more since it's just 3hours after i Flashed it .

Umm, i am not sure if you read the first few lines but it does say that it is for ICS 4.0.3 for CM and Samsung type ROMs. I am pretty sure that our v4 is neither one of those and that is probably why you keep messing up.
If you want to change the battery icon i am pretty sure you can use ROM Toolbox to change it. ROM Toolbox is in the market and is a free download unless you go Pro which gives you more option on things can do.

That patch will work with any Rom. All it does is move the 4 files to their right places to replace the other ones.
Like what I do manually with my guide but you just have to flash it.
Does Miui_V4 have the Tegra/Nvida driver support that the CM9 builds lack?
Been quiet for awhile so forgive my ignorance, long day at the office!
I've been using this for a couple hours. Works perfectly. I noticed some things are not in English such as when the phone is charging is says 'cargando' on the lock screen instead of 'charging' and in the message app under the 'Recommend' tab everything is in Chinese. Everything is else fine though besides the normal cm9 issues with drivers.
wifi calling???

your install instructions are redundant, when you do a wipe data/factory reset it formats /data and /cache, no need to do it twice just saying

They don't have any control over that... if you were quiet you were observing, if you were observing you would know that NVIDIA is the only one who has control over that and refuses to release the source code... I'm sorry if this sounds mean but you need to understand that.

Porting instructions.
First of all, Great job on porting this!
I have been experimenting with porting this over for the last week or so and have not been successful. I would greatly appreciate it if you could guide me through it so that I at least learn something for my effort hahaha.
as far as Whitehawkx guide, I would get stuck on the part where I had to download the files to transfer...
again, Thank you soo much for this rom. The rom is running awesome right now! slight lag, but great over all. And yeah, I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could help me out with a mini guide on how to port this over.
Hey what are the kernel options for this ROM? Faux's? Which ones?

not sure if a real issue but GPSLocationProvider seems to do a lot of partial wake logs. I attached the url to the logcat. again thank you for the work.

xkonni, this isn't a logcat-able bug:
The echo issue from CM9 is present again. Basically, when you talk to someone on the phone, they can hear an echo of themselves (note I said themselves, not YOU). You sound fine to them, and they sound fine to you, but each time that person speaks, they hear themselves echoing many times on their end.
Someone said that it wasn't present on 7/22 but WAS on 7/25. I cannot confirm or deny this. However, I was running 7/25 when I encountered it.
I believe you're familiar with this one, as I spoke to you last time when I first discovered it for CM9.
Keep up the great work.

Yes i noticed that know how to fix it, but there is some other issue currently and i can not build roms that i would want to release.
Hope to figure this out soon.
Update: Released a hotfix update.zip to deal with that echo issue.

Reboot after using the camera... Also those screenshots are NOT from this version of the rom, or your date is set wrong. Please always use the latest version.
Updated logcat command to include less useless information...

Just wanted to say that..
When right button is set to open menu, anyone notice that it vibrates twice, on press and again on release? Feels weird.

Try using the right key, I guess the app switcher key, as the menu open/close, that's what I use and it double-vibrates.
It doesn't happen to me..... wait what build of CM10 are you on? I'm on ColdBlooded but I can flash to xkonni's and see if it happens there

Yes I am aware. It could possibly be kernel related

the logcat is pretty much useless, it does not contain anything but log spam from RIL. not much we can do about this now, just check again on the next release.
just to let you know, camera is currently not available...

Just found out it happens after i send a sms.The phone app battery usage goes up...
Hi!
I had a similar problem few months ago.
I installed BetterBatteryStats (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809) that said me that was a problem with fast dormancy, then i disabled it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348597) and voilá, problem solved!
It may not be the case, so try to install BBS, wait a few hours and then post here the screenshoots of kernel wakelocks, partial wakelocks, etc. Hopefully someone can help you!

Just install BBS and wait few hours, then post here the screenshots. You don't need root access to do that. Depending on the results, you MAY need root access to solve the problem, but first we must know what is the real source of that battery drain, then we can tell you how to solve it!

I had this problem too last week, it took more than 40% of my battery. I started having this problem after following this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596581
This thread fixes the proximity sensor but something went wrong in my case. I fixed the battery draining problem by installing the original services.jar and somcphone again. i can provide you the original deodexed ones if you want. Did you follow the proximity bugfix tutorial? And also, i assume you're on the latsest .12 firmware?
Well i kinda fixed it by always using 2G,the seeking for 3G was using alot of power.
Scrap this, still the same problem
I am having the same problem. it is fixed when i reboot my phone however it happens again after a while. is it because of proximity bug ? or are there any reason ?
any solution tips ?
The same thing happens with me since I bought the phone in July with 4.1 FW , I'm with the last FW now , but this "bug" appeared again, the only way I found to fix is reboot the phone , but when I turn 3G/2G again the bug returns and drain my battery , I'm tired of this , I think I'm going to send my XL to the Sony service and hope they send me a SP instead of a new XL

Hi,
To disable that just install a app called "disable service" and then open that app and go to "system apps"
there you can see all the runnnig services with blue number indication,. you will surely see com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel running there
just open tht entry and disable it..it'll be gone from services now...try it..it works for me..

The app called "phone" draining most of the baterry and " com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel" is the part of the phone app. " com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel" this may not be the reason for the problem. In sony support forum, some guy suggested a solution to solve the problem. here is his solution.
"
Es file explorer or remote control collection.
One of the above app was responsible,
Check out app permissions.
I uninstalled both. Phone is back to normal"
I just trying this solution, i will let you know about the result. just give it a try and tell the results.
