Speed dialing with jelly Bean - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

How the heck do you set up speed dialing on the native dialer in jb!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium

If you go to your dial pad and hit menu there should be a option for speed dial, if there isn't then your rom doesn't support it.
I know CM and AOKP base roms don't have speed dial.

Ahh..That would 'splain it! I'm running Vincom's cut down CM10 Rom. No Biggy I guess, I found a decent standalone speed dialer app in Play.
Stew

That's one of the reasons I switched off those bases, I need speed dial and use it constantly.

Are there any XDA roms that do have the speed dial feature still in them with jb 4.2.2?
If not, what third party apps are everyone using for speed dialing?
I'm not opposed to direct dial, but for me the reason I don't use it and want speed dial is I do not want to have direct dial icons on home screens that both clutter them and can be viewed by others.

Exdial is a viable alternative, all the features of touchwiz and then some from sense and etc...

Speed dial pro.

Sky is speed rom

Hi all, I'm running the sky ics speed rom. Problem I'm having is whenever I go to type something it always reverts back to the stock keyboard no matter how many times I set the keyboard I want. Anybody else seen this problem?

Yes. Kind of annoying
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Go to settings-applications-running services then find the sky ics keyboard process. Click on it. Click settings. Then it will display Swype and Ics keyboard. Right above those it will say input method., click that and select Swype. That's it.

ICS - Add contacts to dialer menu?

Has anyone figured out how to add the contacts menu to the dialer menu?
It is really stupid that you can slide and swipe left/right at the phone menu but it works in the contacts menu.
Hit menu button and select contacts.

Yeah i miss that too im curious if a Dev can bake three one from aokp or cm9 into a build i like stock ics

I really don't understand what the benefit of separating it was.

its a concept issue with touchwiz. Don't worry, aosp or cm9 will fix it

In call screen

Is there any way to get the in call screen to rotate? I've tried all the main adding dialers -they go landscape in the contacts and dialer, but caller Id and in call screen are always the same.
I know it could be done on GB, but haven't seen it in ICS yet.
I'm on the latest SkyICS using stock phone dialer.
Thnx

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modoohut.dialer you have to pay though =(

Did the exdialer things. You get landscape dialer and contacts, but the in call screen doesn't rotate (at least I couldn't get it to).

Anyone? I have yet to find a rom or app that successfully rotates the in call or caller id screens.

Are you talking about the ringer or in-call volume?
Also are you running stock rom, custom rom, what kernel are you on if custom? You are going to have to give some details.

Dose any one know how
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda app-developers app
You would have to go back to a Stock Firmware and from there use the USSD code *#197328640# to enter the Service Mode Main Menu. From there you can tweak the Audio.
I don't know about changing it within the kernel or otherwise, unless there is a specific volume setting that can be adjusted in the Rom u r or were running.
There has to be away around all that any one know were at in from

Late response... Prefix the code with an * . Whe I did it, I left off the asterick and it didn't work. My problem is, how do you input information when using the codes. For example, I enter the code and go through menus for audio until I see it's set at 95. I select to change it, and I get an input screen, but no keyboard to enter anything.
Did u use the capacitive menu key on the phone ? That pulls up some options. Choose key input and then tap the blinkin curser and that should bring up the keyboard.

I tryed that *# thing and it dose not work I know there call90 in the intd stuff is there any other tweeks

Go SMS, love stock as well and if the group text function worked I'd probably use that instead.
In the end it's all preference, try them all out and see which one you like best.

I use Go SMS. I found that Go and Handcent functioned pretty much the same for me, only Go has a 'send later' option that didn't exist in the last version of Handcent that I tried.
I was using Go SMS but then i started using stock after getting the inverted gapps.
Stock TW for me.

Definitely Go SMS Pro. Well worth it in the long run, but plan on spending an initial hour or so getting it set up just right... and then you're golden.
what I miss, and I wish someone would come out with is the app from my droidx that had EVERYTHING in it. SMS, MMS, emails (exchange, and pop3), facebook messages, etc.. all in one app.
there isn't anything like that is there?
