Team Revival presents:
"Reaper" Revival ROM 1.0 - Eclair based custom ROM
Official Facebook page
Team Revival is:
- jihaa - Lead developer and theme porter
- deskjeti - Development team member
!!Development turmoil!!
If any experienced dev. is out there watching this thread and is able to:
- Download our stock JK1 zImage (or extract it from the .tar package)
- Change one line in the recovery.rc part just like this:
------------------------------
service recovery /sbin/recovery
------------------------------
replace with
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
service recovery /system/bin/recovery
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
- Don't take the -+ signs into consideration, they are for show only
- If this is done on v1.0 and the new zImage would be flashed on it (just the zImage), then CWM would work out of the box (no need to install it, it is already implemented in the system!
Short change log:
- Three branches
• Classico branch (safety focused)
• Custom branch (performance/safety focused)
• Reaper (extra focused - on-going development is for this)
- Install kit added to all branches
- Guide added to all branches
Classico branch feature list:
- Éclair XXJK1 unbranded Samsung ROM – based
- Deodexed (meaning: removed all unnecessary application files in system folders – shows up in much more free space on /system partition, and also you can change the themes!)
- Pre-Rooted (meaning: you can now use all apps, which require root and also adb with su commands)
- Cleaned from un-necessary apps (meaning: removed Samsung widgets and stock software, which cause slowdown or less space on device – if you want, you can re-add them by downloading the .apk files for Éclair, but I don’t recommend that, they were removed for a reason…)
Custom branch feature list:
- All features of Classico branch
- Custom HTC theme (great thanks to The Dark Lestat for that)
- Custom boot animation (green particles – like in Kyrillos ROMs)
Reaper branch feature list:
- All features of Custom branch
- Live Wallpaper support for 2.1
- Stock wallpapers replaced with HTC stock wallpapers
- CWM recovery for 2.1 (non-autostart)
- Updates for the HTC theme (currently popup buttons were fixed)
Pros and Cons:
- It is Éclair, so no Froyo features for you (native App2Sd, Flash 10.1, Screen-orientation button, etc.)
- Minor theme problems (the porting has done by me and it is not complete, hence the version number 0.7 – expect something like non-transparent status bar app list, so nothing major)
- No heat-, excessive battery drain-, screen-, call- or app-issues – it is the safest ROM ever for your phone (oh, and also no FCs by stock – did I mention that? )
- Fast even without kernel mods, Data2SD, lagfix or etc.
****
Possible FAQ:
- Q: Why? Why would you make a custom ROM based on 2.1 if there are several 2.2 distros already?
- A: I would because my phone had audio/battery problems with each and every one.
- Q: Why the several branches?
- A: Because there aren’t much notable custom Eclair ROMs out there for Galaxy 3 and this way everybody will find their preferences
- Q: Why freeze a branch?
- A: Because each will represent a certain type of value: Classico for safety, Custom for performance/safety and Reaper for action-packed hot stuff!
- Q: What about the themes? Will they be updated?
- A: Yes. They will updated for each build after the final version has been reached (e.g. no more bugs)
- Q: Is this project frozeeen?? Nooo pleeease!
- A: I would say it is, if you want it to. It is now transformed into a community project - so anyone has the right to edit/remove/add components and even to rename it. You just have to make your own thread and read our rules (below, green) in advance. I made it like this, because I cannot add any more feautres, because they need advanced coding skills - something which I don't have...
- Q: How can I launch CWM?
- A: Yes, currently this is our dev. problem, you cannot launch it only from terminal emulator or adb. The commands are as follows:
su
/system/bin/recovery
- CWM screen will come up, but there will be flickers, because it was launched on the top of the system layer. Nevertheless, you can use the features. ALWAYS REBOOT after launching it - you can't exit.

Disclaimer:
Of course, as always: if your phone gets bricked during an attempt to flash / use my ROM I will refuse all accusations regarding it was done by this ROM.
It has been properly and carefully tested and it poses no hardbrick threat to any G3.
Licensing options as of 27.06.2011:
This project is hereby declared as an open-source community project. I declare it, because I have no further knowledge on the feature implementation and I believe that the pace is slow because of this. Also, I am completely satisfied with the level of progress of Version 1.0 - therefore I found it meaningless to be in charge of this project.
What does this mean to you? It means you are free to redistribute, re-release, modify or edit this ROM or its contents as long as you:
1. Don't violate any licenses that are already been deployed (e.a. Samsung's)
2. Credit all development members (included in my description)
3. Indicate, that your modifiaction has been, in fact, based on Revival ROM
4. Ask around if you are unsure about anything included (whose work it was for example)
Why do I do this? I hope that this will pick this project up and maybe an another "mutated" release will include the features we all have been longing for!
Godspeed.

Attention! Several screenshots featuring the HTC Dock are made by using LP Sense UI 1.5.0.3 not TouchWiz!

wow totally new approach for those who love 2.1!
Excellent job!
Man, this means a lot! Thanks so much!
Very nice to see an alternative rom! Apps2sd is no con, since you can install link2sd(free app from the market) witch is compatible with 2.1.
Yeah, I hoped that people will recognize that alternative!
nice, good job.
little suggestion: there is no flash on froyo so its no a pro/contra

if people like the rom, i'll surely make a video and let those 2.1 people use it
try porting features(power menu mod, jit, other stuff) from 2.2 to 2.1..
Hi,
here is a nice feature for your 2.1 eclair Rom:
i5800 JiT for Eclair JK1
Download this files : www.megaupload.com/?d=5P7JUZ2K
Put the dalvikvm from the bin folder in /system/bin and type
adb shell
su
chmod 755 /system/bin/dalvikvm
in adb
then put the libnativehelper.so and the libdvm.so in /system/lib and type
adb shell
su
chmod 755 /system/lib/libnativehelper.so
chmod 755 /system/lib/libdvm.so
in adb.
And then reboot the phone.
After the Reboot the phone will be much faster.
I hope you´ll enjoy it
Actually, I could make it work when I used Froyo, but yeah - it's not common.
Amúgy szép estét
Thanks for the tip, in further development I might make it happen!

Sure, I thought about that too, but I made this mainly for debug reasons and the process of adding features and testing their effects on 2.1 will take considerably more time, coz I'm doing this all by myself
Do we have data2sd and lagfix for 2.1?

You mean for Revival ROM or 2.1 at all?
To answer it in short: Revival does not include data2sd, but you can by all means install the free app Link2SD on it, which is basically the same as data2sd.
For lagfix, I can say I use my phone pretty much, but with Revival I did not face any slowdowns - so even if you install it, I doubt you will notice performance increase...

Tablet ui is pretty awesome in this ROM only thing is that the grid on the home screen is off a bit and the apps are proportioned slightly off the grid causing apps to be in 2 screens at once. Otherwise great ROM man!

That is because the launcher needs to worked on for portrait mode, flip it sideways and it fits just right but in portrait it acts as if its still in landscape

Thanks ! It is also why it is in a beta stage
It is pretty hard to fix because in 'Portrait', we need more rows then column and in landscape it needs more column then rows. So yeah when we rotate, unless the grid is the same for both, the icon wont be at the same place :/ It might even be out of the screen. And also, if I set the grid to be the same in landscape then portrait, the grid can't be really big and it makes huge space between icon witch is ugly
I've much work to do on the launcher, I need to figure out something
Was hoping there was something new to flash thanks!

Seems to me we would need something like horizontal padding in portrait and switching to vertical padding in landscape. It might keep thing in perspective? The trick is to keep the work area square so widgets and such don't get stretched or cut off. Just an observation.
Testing for stability is definitely required

Yeah but it would looks bad if it would be a square no ? If you wanna test out things easily, download any launcher like Apex Launcher, Holo Launcher HD or Nova Launcher and have fun playing the grid size If you find anything perfect, tell me wich launcher and what size and I will take a look

[PORT][ROM] GingerDX v029b (17/10/2012)

GingerDX
Now under new management
Im only the Porter of the Rom, the real Devs are TeamFun
Intro
Let's continue the fun!
This project is a continuation of doixanh's personal ROM, known as GingerDX.
("Ginger" as in "Gingerbread", and "DX" as in short for "doixanh")
Brought to you to Galaxy Fit by DQiB
As set in stone by doixanh, the main goal is to have a fast, smooth and lightweight CM7 based ROM with some special features.
Before we begin:
Code:
package gingerdx;
import disclaimer;
public class GingerDXDisclaimer extends Disclaimer {
/**
* Your warranty is now likely void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* spontaneous combustion, or any other host of cosmic penalties
* which may befall you, your family, or your phone.
*
*/
public GingerDXDisclaimer(){
warranty.set(0);
}
}
GingerDX now even has its own IRC channel!
If you feel like chatting with each other or hanging out with us:

NOTE: Before you click the link to get to FreeNode's webchat or fire up your IRC clients:
The developers are NOT your personal support helpdesk nor root of endless knowledge.
If you are a developer or have a really urgent or tricky problem come tell us about it.

Notice
Very important. Read all before posting questions!
1. This ROM is based on doixanh's personal ROM and continued in the same philosophy to keep it as lightweight as possible. You can report bugs in this thread and suggest additions, but understand we're not obligated to fix or include them. We'll fix what is needed, and we'll include what makes sense.
2. We are NOT responsible for any bugs caused by custom-made fixes/additions/tweaks. You use them at your own risk and responsibility!
3. Regarding the copyright branding at the bottom in Lockscreen: We will NOT remove them nor provide any option to disable them. Don't PM/Post to ask for the removal or nag otherwise.
4. If you have battery drain, try the following:
Clear battery stats in recovery.
Freeze unused services (like Email, DSP Manager, Maps). This is important.
Turn OFF 'Allow mock locations'.
Don't set brightness too high.
Don't install too many unused apps.
Turn OFF WiFi, 2G, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth when not in use.
Turn OFF LED Succession.
Reboot after you listen to music. Music service caused battery drain (in the past).
Generally, doixanh and me usually get 2-3 days out of a charge (give or take depending on usage).
5. If you still have battery drain after following Step 4, try:
Full wipe in recovery, re-install GingerDX.
Use Stock ROM for several days to see if the battery problem is caused by GingerDX or not.
If it doesn't drain, try installing one of your apps, test battery for a day, install another one, and test.
and so on...
That way you will know what's the cause of your battery drain.
Thanks
Thanks go to the CyanogenMod Team

where is the download link to this rom and gapps download link also. it's so confusing.is this stable and does it uses latest cm7 nightly version 30/09/2012
awesome just flashed and using now. this is amazing amazing rom one of the best rom's after creed v4.
i think everyone who loves jelly bean and ICS interface should use this rom as this is bundled with CM7 android 2.3.7 jelly bean and ics style. most stable most efficient world class best roms than crappy CM9,CM10 & AOKP,AOSP rom's. this rom is perfect for galaxy fit who has a capacity of 600 Mhz and this work fulfills everything. plz everyone contribute to this rom rather than contributing to crappy rom's like CM9,10,etc. no offence though but it's of no use to donate over there as this is the rom which is perfectly needed for our crappy galaxy fit phone. perfect combination of android 2.3.7 + jelly bean ICS style. awesome.
keep up the great work developer for this rom. hope u make it more and more out of this rom. highly appreciated for this rom. spread the message. no offence to other's but i'm just so excited on using your rom.
have one question how do i update CM7 of this rom to latest CM 7 Nightly i.e. 07th oct 2012. plz lemme know. thanks.

Yes, though its getting better and better. Since yesterday for example, the camera is VERY usable now!
Does bluetooth work properly in this build or does it still stop streaming with every little obstruction?

One noob question sorry. Turning the Force GPU rendering may affect the ram memory, or the battery drain?

Actually, turning this on lowers CPU usage because its the GPU that renders, so it might even be beneficial for the battery,,,

General Information:
This is my continuation of doing AOKP PUB Builds for the Nexus 7. PUB (Project Unicorn Butter) aimed to bring Linaro toolchain and other optimizations to the normal AOKP build. My goal is to simply continue these builds providing releases based off current code. Current builds are using the latest (2013.09) release of the 4.8.2 Toolchain. Builds using O3, strict-aliasing, and other optimizations where applicable.
The original thread for reference:
Stephen.k.spear Orig PUB Builds Thread
Releases:
The target will be weekly builds on the weekend with a build during the week only where needed for bug fixes to be merged or some major change we just can't wait for
There are two Release Types
TYPE 1 is your traditional ROM Flashable zip.
You must flash gapps after flashing this ROM as it can not be included in the ROM zip.
Current Gapps: gapps-jb-20130813
Slim Gapps(needed for full Dark UI functionality): Slim Gapps 4.3 DownloadsTYPE 2 is an Aroma Installer that includes the ROM, latest gapps, and many other options. See Post 2 below for further details.More than likely any middle of the week builds will not get rolled into the Aroma.
Kernel:
I am currently building the tegra3 grouper kernel from google source (stock). It is the kernel that will be installed if you just flash this as is. This is a perfectly fine daily driver, should be stable and safe across all devices.
If you are looking for better battery life, better performance during gaming, or even just more control over various settings at the kernel level then feel free to try one of the other great kernels offered for this device. I will not recommend one, I will recommend you try them all and see which works best for you.
Installation:
Download rom zip and gapps
Reboot to recovery
Wipe cache/dalvik (full wipe when needed)
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot

Optional Inverts:
You can get inverted applications in multiple ways. First I'd recommend going to System Settings and flipping the switch for Dark AOKP.
This will invert many of the core Gapps for you. For any other applications you may want inverted, there are two great threads that will make this trivial for you:
Midnight Gapps Project
Team BlackOut
Thanks:
To the following for allowing their hard work to be included in this aroma:
_motley - KERNEL
morfic - [DER KERNEL] Trinity Seven
faux123 - KERNEL
show-p1984 - Bricked n7 kernel
metallice - M-Kernel
franciscofranco - franco.Kernel
I've included two of my favorite boot animations from here. Go thank Wrixituz for these and check out his others!
of course to amarullz for creating the aroma installer
I know what I'll be flashing soon...
Thanks man!
Running very smooth & fast keep up the great work

This is the same OneAroma7oBind7hem I provide to in the Themes and Apps section. The difference being it is integrated into the ROM above so you have one unified zip for ROM + all options.

Choose Inverted Applications
Choose New Kernel
Choose Launchers
Choose Boot Animations
Download OneAroma7oButter7hem v1.1 : OneAroma7oButter7hem-v1.1.zip

I am downloading your newest build now! Thanks! Have been using your PUB builds since Steve went on hiatus and I am thoroughly enjoying them. One problem though, can't seem to find a download link for the new "gapps-jb-20130301-signed". Could you post a link please? Thanks.
Wouldn't mind an inverted Gapps. Never tried it, but kinda curious.

Thanks! Also, since you have switched to the stock tegra Kernel, which kernel would give fastest performance? I liked the faux built inline with Steve's builds. I want pure performance without burning out my device. I play games and watch loss of videos. I guess I'm looking for a kernel that will clover maximum performance in games and videos, and will also deliver creamy UI transitions. Thanks.
BTW, in case you couldn't tell, I'm somewhat new at this. I know just enough to sound somewhat competent I guess. I have unlocked, rooted, and flashed both my n7 and n4 through fastboot. Never touched a root kit.

I'll add this type of answer to the OP as well when I have time to clean it up but here is the gist of it. I can't answer you.
Of the main kernels (regularly updated) you'll see for this device (faux, motley, metallice, franco, morfic), these are all established kernel dev's here. They spend countless hours on these kernel's and know them quite well. There is no way I could say to use one over another. Even if one is more geared toward stability and battery life vs gaming performance each may run differently on each device as the hardware is not exactly the same on every N7. Some can get away with -75mv while other's would have lock ups there. Some can overclock gpu, cpu higher than others and run perfectly smooth and others would see a random reboot. Even with the differences on a default flash of any of these dev's kernels, you then have a plethora of further settings you can tweak. There are voltages, clock speeds, governor, scheduler, and literally many many more.
Personally I'd read through each of those threads, at least the first few pages and the last 10 or so to see the current posts and tweaks the other users are making or their feedback. Try each of the kernels for a few days. You might get the feeling of a couple you like better or you think run a bit smoother for YOUR device with YOUR usage. At that point you can determine how much further down that kernel rabbit hole you want to go, ie. tweaking the intricate little settings that might help you vs the dev's stock settings. With all that being said, and all the variables at play in the kernel world, I can't imagine an answer I could give you that wouldn't be intrinsically incorrect. Hence, re-read the bold text above.

Working like a charm on tilapia. No problems so far. The notifications are a bit low on the bar in tablet ui, but it's the same in every aokp build I've tried. Thank you for this fine rom.

Never understood why this happened here, but not on PA, but yeah, this is definitely the smoothest rom I have run on any device.
