Possbile Screwed Battery - Any recommendations which to get? - Desire Accessories

I think I may have a dud battery. I bought the HTC Desire phone from a forum 2 months back, so not sure how old
the battery is. I currently have the phone rooted using a custom ICS rom and when the battery level on the status bar reaches 30%
it powers off, and i need to charge up. I recently had the MildWild 5.0CM rom installed and when the level reached 18% it shutdown.
Am guessing the battery is screwed, so need to buy a new one.
Have checked and this battery is a genuine HTC battery - Model: BB99100 1400 mAh
Can anyone recommend a battery I should go for?
Thanks.

This is late but around 15% is normal

if you flash a compatible rom/kernel like oxygen or CM7.2 you can try this tuto : http://forum.oxygen.im/viewtopic.php?id=723
with that app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ds.batterycalibrator.ui&feature=search_result
be very careful when typing registry values and folow the tuto exactly.

And another version that Oxygen rom, it works well?

this app will calibrate the battery epprom. you need a compatible rom to do that but after calibrating you can change to any rom, it remains in the battery memory.
mildwild CM should work because of this CM7.2 base (i hope it fits the CM official kernel)
it worked well, my phone was shutting down on 8/9% and now 0/1%.
it doesn't make the battery last longer but value is just more accurate.

Thanks for your answer.
Is that a rom Miui 2.4.6 vith kernel 2.6.35.13 ManU-2.1-GB-HAVS-AXI-128-BFS it works ?

I have no idea, manu Kernel is really old ...

Ok ...
Do you have any other kernel for me?
Yet at MildWild example, the kernel was advised ...

use battery calibrator app. it can fix your battery.

[Q] Galaxy apollo (I5801) Seriously battery problem

Hi everyone,
I know that there are a lot of threads about battery problems with g3 (apollo)
But i got a really big battery issue, when my phone is fully charged and I use it, it says it's empty after 10 minutes! and than falls off right after,
Really 10 minutes.. i'm only using 1 thing at a time ( music or twitter etc) and have done everything to try increas the life ( battery performances apps in market, screen on low, power save mode etc,) but nothing works, still 10 minutes. sometimes even 5 and if i'm lucky 15 minutes
Someone got the same problem or knows how to fix it>
Í have a Samsung galaxy GT-I5801 vodafone
I'm using Custom ROM kyrillos (beta 7.5) and G3MOD (v. 2.0 B2)
PS. I'm a n00b with mobile stuff so please do not post to complicated stuff,

Did you already tried a battery calibration (with an app battery calibration from the marked)?
Sometimes the battery stats are wrong after flashing a new rom so I recommend to calibrate your battery so this problem will probably be solved

Most likely a problem with the kernel i think. Try flashing another kernel such as fugumod. Search on the development forum for it.

If i do that, and i don't see any update.I should do this thing with the Kernel ? What should i do ? What kernel should i put ?
I have Kyrillos13 Version 7.1 in my phone.
What to do ? I am desperate!

Relax and flash a stock kernel. There was a new update called xxjpu. Search it in the forum and flash it. It should make your battery better as the battery drivers are untouched. Also if you want to flash a custom rom don't use an oc version, use a non oc version (non overclocked)

OC means Overclockable non-OC means ofcourse non overclockable
Whit an OC kernel you can overclock your G3 with SetCPU so your G3 will be faster

oke but has OC anything to do with your battery life?
Sorry to ask so much but like i said i'm pretty new with mobile roms and flashing and stuff so i'm tryna to learn the roots.
You know what i'm gonna search on the sites for tutorials and info

Ask all you like. Overclocking uses more battery because the cpu needs to work faster. Non overcloked phones use less battery because they use less cpu power.

Ask as many as you want that's the reason why forums like these exist
If you wanna learn the basics of flashing, rooting ect. I recommend the roll-up thread in the development section, all the info to start experimenting with android an G3 is there
I dnt believe our battery can drain out with in 10 mins, even if it is miscalibrated.
I believe Ur battery got corrupted.. U need to replave it with a new one.
PS: I had the exact same problem & fixed that by replacing the battery with a new one..
Some symptoms for corrupt battery:
1)battery drains even it is on charging
2) battery drains like hell with CPU sucking manipulation but at stand by , it goes good
3)almost 1year from purchasing

For this your phone must be rooted
you just have to install the app battery calibration form the market and follow the instructions
I have put , the stock JPQ .
I will how it will go for today, and if i don't see anything better.
Then i will wait the new release of the Kyrillos13 v8.0 and flash it again, and then i will install the app calibration tool
I will keep you inform guyz, thank you!

If the extreme battery drain problem still occurs on the stock rom with the stock kernel the problem is probably related to the battery itself
so I hope for you that it's just a problem with the kernel or some rom related problem
I hope the best for you
I have tested the JPQ,for almost 3 hours with Wi-fi , GPS,handwriting in sms,few calls,and downloading all the time with market.And from the 65 % went to 45 % only 20 % , drop down.
If i would do that with the Kyrillos13 V.7.1 in the first few minutes the battery would die.Simple as that.
Now i am flashing to the newer stock version JPU.I will inform you
Edit Post : 21:50
---------------------
The phone , has been flashed, but it kept my apps from the previous version i don't know why.So, i made factory reset and pass it again, and now i am working on the JPU,as i can see everything are running smooth, the battery i can see until now it's ok.
So ... more information after some hours.

As it now stands, I think it was just a problem of the kernel.
Otherwise when you tested the stock jpq, your battery would be empty before your phone was fully booted since a stock rom has no buildprob tweaks etc. like the Kyrillos 7.1 where you got that enormous battery drain
But a battery can loses his full capacities after a year so a faster drain than when you purchased the phone is obvious of course
so I really hop the best for your phone

Yeah , thank you mate.
I have the 7.5 OC beta , now . I will do the calibration battery and i will use the phone.
After i will use the 8.0 when it comes out,and if i see that i am not sutisfied of the battery,i will return into the old stock firmware once and for all.
After that i will buy via ebay a newer battery with much larger mah, and it will be just fine i think.
(P.S : If you have any kind of app, that you suggest, send me a pm !)

SoD/ not waking up on cm9/ ics

I had that screen dying this rom also... on build 3 as many more i´ve noticed.
I flashed that earlier kernel after not succesful try on that build 3 kernel.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12943198/ics22.zip by arakmar.
Normally build3 trough odin and flashed this ics22.zip trough cwm
Big thanks goes to MrComputerRevo for posting this:
"So I had no waking up issue so I falshed another kernel, but that decreased perfomance and sound was laggy... So I thought what if I flash the kernel that arakmar posted a couple pages ago... Guess what: I don't have lockscreen or waking up issues, sound is perfect and headset works! Try it!"
I followed these instructions and it really helped!
hopefully this helps someone too
nice news i needed to hear that to change to cm9
thanks a lot !!
by the way how do you see the battery backup? similar to cm7? or worse?

Nice to hear
Well my whole g3 is only 6months old so no battery issues on that case. But i noticed on cm7 that 1.3 hv kernell was the best, didn' t drain battery so fast. If u want more power/speed ( over 1ghz) with different kernell prepare to lose your battery faster.
On cm9 i'm using the same as 1.3hv stats, max 1ghz on processor speed. My battery has lasted on this for last 4 days, since i flashed this rom.

thanks for th info mate
i flashed cm9 with arakmar's kernel and everything is ok..but i want to get rid off the gapps that i dont need , i only use market and gmail..but i dont want to delete anything vital for the phone or these two apps :/ any idea what should i keep and what not?
none of the google apps is vital for the phone
Imo u can delete what u dont need, gapps are not vital for the phone, many roms doesn't have any of google apps but many devs put up a link for every one who wants gapps on their phone

Which Radio for CyanogenMod9?

Hey,
can you please tell me which Radio Version is the best for the latest relaese of the CyanogenMod 9?
I flashed the CyanogenMod9 Rom yesterday with the new Radio from the VIrtuosSaga 1.0 and after turning the screen on (the Desire S came from loading station and had 100% battery) the battery looses instantly 7%.
So i think that i need to flash another Radio version. Is that right?
I'm using 3805.06.02.03_M, installed it while downgrading from hboot 2.00.0002
So, device life is about 1 day, charging it when I go to sleep
Calibrate your battery, the radio works fine for me...
Radio performance and battery drain is not related to ROM
Sent from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3 sources. WAKE UP HTC!!!!
This radio drains your battery very quickly on initial flash. After that, it gets better and better. Just be patient.

just buy a new battery if it drains in 10-20 mins....that's not kernel fault at all.,....just for all others to know: I'm flashing roms & kernels on my g3 very often...my phone has 1st battery & it's 16 months old...and you know what?...i still get 24-30 hrs of battery juice out of it...& it never drained so fast as many users are reporting & blaming the KERNEL for fast draining.....so.....
found that flashing I5801DDJG6 firmware fixes the issue but all the download links of that firmware are dead can someone provide me with working links of the firmware with bootloader removed please
Dude this is not kernel problem
First See how hot your phone is
If your phone is 60C or even higher don't expect anything more than that
Anyway as rkoby said our g3mod has started to get older and most of their batteries are not able to hold charge for long time
Think of replacing your battery
If you are still sure stock firmware will work I think kyrillos had a collection of stock roms ( check in his rom thread)

STOCK ROM (HTC STATUS) or BEST BATTERY ROM

Hello, I just unlocked my bootloader the (S-ON) is still there. I am not able to make it S-OF, I am using this rom and it has already taken 20% of my battery without using any application in just an hour, this is very much more drainage then my stock rom. Please tell me how can I install stock rom or tell me a good rom with best battery status.
I am using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690088

I use CM9... works great for me... Battery works for about 40 hours, in stead of the poor 15-16 hours I used to have before... Even when I'm working, in a crwoded soccer stadium with a crappy 3G connection, it works for a long time... With stock or else it was only 3 hours after charging...
CM9 can be found in the developer section of the ChaCha thread
