Try to turn your phone off and put your device into RECOVERY MODE (simultaneously press and hold Vol + and Power buttons) and choose wipe data/factory restore and wipe cache partitions. All data will be lost.
i already done it but nothing happens...
Try to connect with kies and try recover firmware from options of kies
or download firmware from www.samfirmware.com and flash via odin
You will start clean unrooted

I have found your firmware in samsung kies servers but there is no link that I can share to you.
I have to download it myself and then upload it to dropbox or something.

Thanks OP.
Worked like a charm. The perfect thread for people who just flashed over 4.1.1 JellyBean and want to root.
Hi,
I'm relatively new to rooting and I dont know what to do but the steps and videos that I found on google seems simple enough. I just want to know if this will work on any S3 JB 4.1.1 regardless of the firmware version. My "baseband version" is I9300UBDLI2. I have seen the links that I found on google specifying the root will work on a specific version of 4.1.1 (i.e. 4.1.1 XXDLIH Official Firmware). I just want to make sure so that I wont damage my phone in any way.
hi kicker this is a complete safe way to root your phone i also have galaxy S3 4.1.1 on three uk network.....this rooting works on every baseband but the phone must have jellybean and works only on galaxy S3 Gt-19300 try this method it is totally safe and i am 100% sure this will not damage your phone
TRY IT
Thanks for the reassurance. Im using native jellybean 4.1.1. One last thing, does triagle away still work with 4.1.1?

No.

Do tough have usb debugging selected in developers options
Sounds like the tab is overwriting CWM recovery with stock recovery on reboot. Flash CWM again with ODIN but this time don't check auto reboot. Once ODIN finishes and says pass, disconnect from the PC and long press the power button to shut down the tab.
Once the tab is powered off, power back on holding vol up + power and it should take you to CWM.
Note: If you long press the power button too long when ODIN is finished, your tab will basically shut off and come right back on again but it should still work.

Is there a solution, please?
When i press the power button
The phone works but the touch screen does not work
In order to open the lock screen charging also works
Here are the four things you need to download :
1 Odin Multi Uploader https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNC...1dw/edit?pli=1
2 Cooper OPS file https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNC...ldw/edit?pli=1
3 Samsung Drivers (You only need these if you dont have Kies installed. If you never installed Samsung Kies, then install these drivers) https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNC...0dw/edit?pli=1
4 The Firmware Package https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwNC...rive_web&pli=1
Ok, once you download all those, follow these steps:
5 Unplug your phone from the PC
6 Install the Samsung Drivers and reboot your PC
7 Extract the Firmware Package zip file and place the two files directly on your desktop
8 Run the Odin program
9 Put your phone in Download Mode (p Volume Down Key + home button) and connect it to the PC
10 Put a checkmark on the One Package, Auto Reboot, and Protect OPS options.
11 Click on the OPS Button, and load the Cooper OPS file you downloaded
12 On the bottom of Odin, click on the One Package button.
13 Choose the long named file (S5830DDQ8_ etc.) from your desktop that you unzipped from the firmware package file
14 Press the Start button on Odin
15 Wait about 5-10 minutes, until Odin says "Pass!" at the top. You can then disconnect your phone and if it doesnt reboot on its own, turn it on.
Very Important: As soon as your phone loads, do a factory reset to avoid bootloop. Go into the Settings App, choose Privacy, and then reset the phone. This will complete the process and your phone will be back to an "out of the box" condition.
or if you have taken a backup of your current rom then simply restore the backup. if you don't have the backup, then I cannot help... sorry...
Can your phone boot into recovery mode

If you cant get into download mode then take the battery out and then back in. have odin open and ready but dont connect the phone. push both volume buttons at the same time and the home button then plug in the usb cable.

mate just stop blaming him for using the wrong key combination
question to op:
can you boot into download mode?? (volume down+power+home)
if you can:
download your country's firmware from sammobile.com
extract that zip
connect your phone to your computer with your usb cable (make sure your cable is working fine)
click on "pda" in odin, choose the file you extracted from your zip.
the odin should say comort (or a number)
and also shows that you are connected: "added!"
click start
wait until it finishes, your phone should boot up with no problem now
don't unplug when it's still flashing
I can get into download mode. Going to try that now. Also when I said volume up + home + quit I meant quit as the power button.
Edit: Installed stock and rooted now. Thanks.
Okay, I've got this Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 that's been updated with the OTA 4.2.2 update that will not turn off. I want to sell it but I don't want the new owner bugging me about it not being able to turn off. So I decided to root it and put Cyanogen Mod on it but I can't get it into download mode to flash it. I can only get it into ADB sideload from the stock recovery. Also, I can't even find the option to put it in USB debugging mode.
So my question is what's the best way to root and add CWM to this device while it's like this? I would download ROM Manager from the Playstore to start the process but I'm afraid it will brick the device. When I tried to flash the CWM zip to root it from the stock recovery I get an error saying it was unsigned or something to that affect. I've rooted many devices but this one is driving me nuts! What a screwed up update.

Are you able to reboot your tab when pressing power for some time?
Are you holding the right buttons to enter into download mode? (Holding Power + Volume-UP)
In order to enable debugging on the Tab 2, you must go to Settings>>About Tablet. Keep tapping on "Build number" then eventually the Developer Options tab will display on the left. Tap on Developer Options and you will see on the right where you can enable USB debugging mode.

I have a p5113 and to get into recovery is Power + Vol down. Download mode is Power + Vol up. If you are able to get into recovery I know something that may work for you. This will install Philz Touch Recovery. I use it and it works well. Download the .zip file pertaining to your device (p5113).
- Download Philz Touch Recovery (.zip): http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=16057#files
- Download SuperSU (.zip): http://download.chainfire.eu/372/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip
Copy the .zip files to your device's microSD card and flash philz touch from Recovery Mode. Reboot back into Recovery Mode and flash the SuperSU .zip file. This should root your device.

I was finally able to fix the problem with not being able to shut down. I finally got the device into download mode after several tries. Once I saw that I quickly opened up ODIN and flashed clockwork mod recovery. After flashing that it shut down properly afterwards. I have shut it down 5 times in a row now and it shuts down and stay shut down every time. Im totally satisfied with that! Thanx for all you guys help.
I got it into download mode by plugging in, and shutting it down until I got to the battery charging icon (will only shut down plugged in after 2 or 3 attempts). After about 30 seconds hold down the power button and the volume down button simultaneously until the warning screen comes up. The tap volume up (button closest to the power button).
