Update: April 9, 2014 - Added instructions to install super su after flashing new firmware and rooting.
Update: Feb 17, 2014 - Added instructions to turn off Google Bookmarks Sync after setting up a Google Account

How to Install/Flash Google Apps on Galaxy Note 3 N9002:
http://marrkdaviid.com/2013/10/install-google-play-on-the-samsung-galaxy-note-3-n9002/#.UsRALJYYYuo
** Please note that if you are using windows 7 to root the device using cf autoroot as instructed in the link above, you will encounter an error halfway thru the flashing process. You need to run odin 1.85 as windows xp to remedy this.
** Please note that after rooting and flashing google apps thru cwm, you will still have root access but the super su app may get lost. If that happens, please install super su from the google play store and everything will be back to normal. - thanks bigstuart for pointing that out
To fix the gapps error we see everytime we turn on the sync shortcut from the pulldown notification bar:
After setting up your google account, go to the settings menu and turn off the google bookmarks sync app. This will fix the google services has stopped error message.
To fix the google account dropping out (having to set up your google account again) turn off the google account manager app from the settings menu. Three users have confirmed this has fixed the issue.
BigStuart was able to finally find a way to fix our caller ID issue. Here's how to get it done:
Edit /system/csc/others.xml
change
Code:
<CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>11</CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>
to
Code:
<CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>-1</CscFeature_RIL_CallerIdMatchingDigit>
and add the following line:
Code:
<CscFeature_Contact_EnableDynCallerIdMatchingDigitWithAutoSim>TRUE</CscFeature_Contact_EnableDynCallerIdMatchingDigitWithAutoSim>
I added that line at the end of the file, before the closing </SamsungMobileFeature> tag.
Then reboot the phone and test caller ID
Lastly, enjoy your dual sim flagship device

thanks for making a new thread... am really interested in the n9002 but having second thoughts that i have to root it and it will have no samsung warranty. can i ask those who are using it now... (will use it if ever in the philippines)
1. once rooted and google play install do one need to root again if you hard reset your unit?
2. does rooting trip knox?
3. is there much chinese bloatware that you cannot delete?
4. problems encountered the unit being released only in china?
Am in philippines, note 3 dual sim. Without root when i tried install google play knox is tripped. I rooted and running google full service now. Excellent phone buy it

Good thinking on this Thread. The archived thread had some links to removing bloatware and dealing with issues like changing CSC. Wish they didn't delete it. Now we have to re-search and save them all over again.

1. once rooted and google play install do one need to root again if you hard reset your unit?
Shouldn't. I have rooted using RDLV and have reset w/o loosing root.
2. does rooting trip knox?
It did on mine. But there seems to be some who have done it without tripping Knox. Check the forum.
3. is there much chinese bloatware that you cannot delete?
Once you root you can remove almost everything. Search the forum for a list of prog you can safely delete.
4. problems encountered the unit being released only in china?
None really. You can add Google apps, ie Play, Mail, Hangouts, Calendar. If you change the CSC settings, you will be able to set your default search, calender, etc. But read up on how to do that first, you need to back up as it will cause a reboot and loss of data.

Who gives a crap about knox anyway? This is a phone from China, if you will import it to another country, it will not have local warranty. You are not gonna send it to China if ever you need it repaired right? So go ahead and root, flash google apps, and remove all those chinese crapwares.
Im driving right now, but if needed still, i will post a link for a guide on how to do the basics in turning the n9002 to something as close as possible to n9005.

What, the last one got archived!? It was a bit long but got me off to a start and the RIP made it even better. Anyway, I best not mention that.
Well I have checked back because today I just added my 2nd sim. That's 1 Unicom, and 1 China Mobile (some westerners do live in China). It's working and the beauty is: Unicom's data seems good, but China Mobile 's national and international call rates seem better.
I am still interested in getting the best out of my N9002. I am still having a few issues and it's hard to know if they are ROM based or other. Anyway, minor issues, this phone is the best I have owned.

What kind of issues are you getting? I am on stock (mk1) firmware, perhaps we can compare what were experiencing so we can determine if its rom related or not.
Guys i also installed xposes framework and now my gmail and chrome beta is tablet mode cool. Remember is theee are gapps error it usually means the app u running must be uninstalled and reinstall as it could have the old xaxhe prior to installing google. Fellow dual sim note 3 users, now that samsung's 4.4 update is right around the corner, i am starting to look around how we can get the 4.4 update working on our phones.
Im thinking once samsung releases the 4.4 firmware, it will be on sammobile for sure. I will download and flash it on my phone. Naturally, i will lose root, and google apps. I will have to root and flash google apps again. Question is, where are we going to get the 4.4 gapps package? I found this site and it also contains the 4.3 gapps that was listed in mark daviid's method:
http://www.teamandroid.com/gapps/
What do you guys think?

Great idea. What is your current setup on your phone? I am on ZNUDMK1 Rom ZNUDMJ6 Baseband, rooted using RDLV, 4.3, Gapps installed, but I hear that the new ROM's have made it impossible to root for now.
Will it be worth while to do the 4.4 update?
Could someone miraclously discover how to enable lte? Maybe possible?

Im on mk1 rom and mj6 baseband too. I rooted using cf autoroot and flashed gapps 4.3 thru odin. Yes, its impossible to root the newer roms now without tripping knox. Cf autoroot still works but it trips knox - which i couldnt care less about anyway.
I will definitely upgrade to 4.4. I think the android runtime is really something to look forward to.

Hey guys. I am just about to upgrade my old P6800 7.7 from ICS to a newer version of Android to give to my father. However it's a but confusing reading the development section trying to figure out which ROM has th least bugs and stability issues.
What I am looking for is the most recent version of Android possible with ALL features stable and working. It is for my technologically-challenged father so I absolutely cannot have him running into errors.
Can those who read this section regularly please point me in the direction of the most up to date, "bulletproof" ROM for this device?
Cheers,
Richdog.
Assuming youhave a P6800 ?
If your after all features stable and working for a non-techi, I wouldn't go past stock Samsung JB 4.1.2. You can use PC Odin program to manually flash with having latest USB drivers installed etc first. There are many guides around for that.
Firmware can be downloaded from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com .
Although the DXMD3 firmware is released for SE Asia only, English is available if your Father uses that. The only possible bug you might encounter is that 5 GHz WIFI band may not work for some. It may be CSC related, but not heard of anything else that could cause major grief.
Best of luck

Hello
I was wondering if the Roms available on SamMobile were really safe and clean? Given they're not working FOR Samsung, where do they get those?
I'm wondering because I noticed there was a link that came with my phone originally that wasn't there when I restored a ROM I took from SamMobile.
Thank you!

I flashed many devices with odin and firmware downloaded from SamMobile.com and i never had any problems with it. The provided firmwares are not modified and seem to be 100% official versions.
No need to worry about sammobile as it is safe and clean.
It is all in one resource for Samsung stock roms. I used so many roms for different models from there and never faced any issues.
Can you please describe which link you got additional ??

Nothing important really but there was a link to my carrier's mobile site and SamMobile listed the ROM with the name of my carrier. So I thought it had been modified. But maybe it's just because it's the same version as the one my carrier offers but doesn't come FROM my carrier?

No it's not official, I read somewhere they were named Samsung Firmware before they had to change to Sam Firmware at Samsung's request (before they were named SamMobile). I can't find where I read this though.

Alright thanks everyone!
Not official, but safe. They make their money by subscription services for "premium" download privileges. Maybe ads too, but I use adblock, so I wouldn't see them.
Yes me too. But I do wonder where they get all those ROM since Samsung doesn't give the out.

Sammobile updates Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 LTE
Hello,
Next newbie here
Could somebody senior please help me? I am wondering about official updates from Samsung for ROMs downloaded from sammobile, are they possible?
I've just installed Kitkat 4.4.2 on my beloved Note 3 after few days of using Darkera's Note 7 ROM when I'm tapping on "Update" in "Software Update" menu I get "Processing failed" message. Overall phone's responsiveness isn't that great, that's why I wanted to see if update is available.
Will appreciate any answers

You can't do stock updates on rooted devices with custom ROMs and custom recovery.
You have to remove root, you also need to have an UNMODIFIED system partition and you need stock recovery.
If you're using a custom ROM(your note 7 ROM is a ported stock custom ROM) then that means you are rooted and probably have custom recovery which means you need to remove root and undo any system modifications that were done in the custom ROM(including any special themes and Xposed) then flash stock recovery instead of custom recovery.
Then you might be able to do the updates but the system will be looking for your device to have straight stock with no modification, if there is any modification left behind then the update won't work.

Hi!
Thank you for your message.
Here is the list of things I did to my poor note 3 :
- rooted
- installed Darkera's note 7 rom, custom recovery and kernel downloaded also from Darkera
- unrooted with supersu
- using Odin3 I installed kitkat 4.4.2 which I downloaded from sammobile (I was told this process gonna whipe away everything - custom rom, custom recovery and kernel)
- downloaded supersu to make sure root is gone
Because of sammobile's server maintenance happening this weekend I used kitkat file I downloaded from sammobile quite some time ago (N9005XXUEND3_N9005XEOEND2_XEO for Poland) and during flashing everything went ok. But now when I go to 'settings' and 'about device' imei, modem version, baseband version are unknown and when I try to hit 'update' I get "processing failed' message. Oh, and I'm also experiencing random reboots. I'm not sure if all this is a normal thing or perhaps I did something wrong.
I hope I didn't bore you to sleep
Does anyone have it available? I rooted my device and now it complains, "The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorized way. Try downloading software updates using Samsung Kies on your PC, or visit a customer service center." I don't have a Samsung Experience center here, and I haven't found instructions specific to the S5 Sport on how to restore stock. Many, many other variants, but not the SM-G860P.
Oh how I wish I'd checked into the Active before I bought it. I should have gone with the standard S5!
Your help is appreciated.

If you haven't resolved your your inability to reinstall an operating system to your GS5 Sport, I think it is because after KNOX security was added to Samsung phones, ODIN will not be able to install a previous series of OS to the phone. Once you updated to Lollipop, I don't know any way to get back to KitKat. I experienced the same issue with my old GS3 (KitKat to Jellybean). I also repeated the attempt on my GS5 Sport yesterday and was again unable. The only solution I found was to download and install the Lollipop package: G860PVPU2BOC5. It took a lot of Google searches before I found it. If I can again find the link I used, I will post it.
