It is OTA and I'm from Cambodia. Thanks

Were you rooted at any time? Possibly removed some system apps or something like that?
BTW, Congrats!

From the screenshot it seems the build `18' is the final build they are pushing to Asiapac. However, the upgrade checks integrity of several hundred files, including build.prop, DroidSans.ttf, /system/bin/logwrapper (etc etc but these are the files we touch first). To make sure the upgrade goes fine, it is recommended that you FXZ the 2.3.6 searet so the file checksums will be as expected. Alas, an OTA could preserve your data but FXZ won't.

Just download the update from the cheesecake leak thread. It's the same as what you had received.

Then your phone used run Asia (Operator) version or something different than vanilla SEARET which we all have. Download that zip instead. I wouldn't know which one, and difficult for you as the phone is flashed with other fxz. If you find a friend who got Atrix 2 from the same source as you, check his "about phone" to know the version.
Or otherwise as already said the last cheesecake leak is the same as what was being pushed to you, so use it happily.

simple question. I9020A rooted running ICS rom. Do I accept OTA update?

Hi there,
Since my phone is a I9020A on Fido I rooted and currently running CM9 ICS rom, should I accept any OTA update or do I have to manually install it through CWM?
No, it can screw up your device if you do it like that. Just do it manually like everyone is doing.

Only difference between odex and deodex is that deodex is for theming. Odex boots faster.... And if the radio you're using right bow is working properly you don't need to flash another radio

Ok so I flashed 2.3.6 back stock for OTA rom from the thread in this section and now for some odd reason I cant access my CWM. Whenever I try to it shows some box and triangle thing flashing
tried to reflash CWM using Rom Manager and kept getting an error.
Doh!
To the handful of people getting OTA update on i9020a, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get either:
a) name of ZIP file
b) URL of ZIP file
c) copy ZIP file and upload (should be in /cache folder I think)
(preferably all three)
Once you install it the file is deleted and you lost your chance, so please if you downloaded update don't apply until you get at least one of the above...but preferably all three, you would be a hero to all of us in this thread with i9020a wanting update. This is AT&T/Rogers model.

The OP states he is running CM9 Kangs... He isn't getting the update since he is not on stock -- I think he is just asking how to actually take the OTA when it comes.
I am on Fido too in Canada and I can assure you, I have not received the OTA for my I9020A yet... Once it is available for my I9020A, I will post all the information here (if the I9020A official OTA is not already posted, that is...)
if i flash back to stock with root will i still receive OTA on ns4g?? even if with a different kernal?

I think the kernel has to be stock as well.
I just downloaded OTARootKeeper app and have reverted completely back to stock; I am patiently waiting for the i9020A OTA.
Hopefully we get it soon.
I don't mind a little wait though... by then all the other bugs and such with SuperUser app will be figured out for ICS.

I downloaded Voodoo OTARootKeeper from the android market. The description of the program claims it should hide your root during the ota and according to the apps latest reviews, it works on this ics upgrade. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works and hopefully the super user app from the market will be updated by then to handle ics.

Make sure you have the latest superuser.zip and you have to flash it a few times.
I am in Kies and my current firmware is PDA:KJ7/PHONE:LE2/CSC:KJ7 (RWC) and if I click on Firmware Upgrade and Initialization I get a message saying SGH-I727R does not support initializing.
Am I doing something wrong? Can you get the update from Kies if your phone is root?
Thanks.
What is the build date of this Rogers ICS update?
If I'm on a ROM can I just go ahead and update via keis? Or so I have to reinstall an official build first?
Really not sure I want to revert back to TouchWiz from SKY ICS though, any comments on the Rogers build?
could someone grab the radio from this and make cwm flashable please ?

Questions belong in the Q&A Section.
The signature verification failed because SCV7 is based on our ICS leak. Which is TOTALLY different than the OTA update you recieved. There are currently no ROMs available for the firmware you are on.

Possibly that rom is only for the leak ics not for the ota? And you dont use stock recovery you have to use bootmenu or safestrap to install.

If you're coming from the official OTA for ICS, and tried to flash SCv7 (which is based on our AT&T leak) you likely have soft bricked your device. You cannot flash an unofficial leak version of a ROM to an official ICS ROM, you should have thought this through a little better. I'm sorry to say, but you're probably S.O.L. (Google that, if needed)...

No you cannot fxz back from the official ota. You're bricked mate, sorry dude, send in for a replacement.
While you're at it read the sticky in the general section about why we all recommend to NOT to OTA to ICS.
There have been many warnings about this for over month.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks a lot mate!
It is due to recommendation of you guys that I'm still on GB, which is quite snappier than ICS. :good:
I am going to stick with GB too,no more flashing until a stable CM 10 is out

[Q] OTA ICS fails

Hey,
I rooted my phone a long time ago and really didn't do much with it other than used droidwall. I tried OTA updating and it failed. So I did a factory reset and then tried the OTA and it also failed. What are my options?
Thanks!
You've deleted or modified one of the files it checks. At this point you need to fxz to stock.

If you are rooted, you can check /cache/recovery/last_log for details about the install fail.
But, yes, you can use the 2.3.6 fxz if you are on GB.

If you was on ICS Leak#1, you can fxz back to 2.3.6, but if you was on 2.3.6 GB, you'll have to go back to 2.3.5 with the normal fxz and patch.
Edit: wow, I was slow on the draw!
Just be sure you use the correct one.

Where do I get FXZ 2.3.6 to 2.3.6? I looked in the UPDATE[7/22/12] The Beginners Guide !!! (NOOBS)[ALL IN 1 RESOURCE GUIDE]
I did not see the files. I am rooted and 2.3.6 I am getting an error when I try to update to ICS. I checked the cache and the error I had is:
failed to open the file (java.io.IOException at com.estrongs.android.pop.app.ct.run(unknown source) SO I assume if I FXZ to 2.3.6 I should be able to update to ICS?
