One thing that bothers me a lot about the Play Store... is there is soooo many Gingerbread (or earlier) styled and/or based apps.
Heck even some of the most popular ones like Dolphin and Facebook is Gingerbread based.
So I have an idea... Why doesn't somebody make a database/marketplace with all the ICS (and higher) styled and/or based apps.
Any Thoughts?
You could always use the search function.

Umm, yeah, that was helpful.

Yeah I wish someone could port a touchwiz rom just to try. Themes don't change the apps built in, but it would probably be a pain to port. Use the galaxy s themes in the market, if you use miui theres a complete theme that themes everything.

You can try porting over some of the touchwiz apps you like best. The music player and messaging app are pretty easy. Actually building a touchwiz rom isn't that hard its just nobody here wants to take the time to do it. If you like it so much I'll look into porting over. I can have you a temporary port with just the basic apps and Widgets from tw including the launcher here in the next day or two and hopefully a near complete galaxy experience for the inspire in the coming weeks

It seems like I'm the only one who doesn't like it when the ICS apps (messaging, calendar, etc.) are themed black "holo" theme. I do like the fact that it all flows well together, but I'm just not a fan of them.
You don't like them? Simple answer. Don't use them.
I don't use them. I just wanted to see if there were more people like me. I like many of the mods people do for the roms, but a lot of them have themed apps.

I would love to learn how to theme but there's a time and place for everything.
By the way
cyanogenmod9 is themeless if you want a simple experience and then go to Swype.com and sign up for betas testing if you can't live without Swype
Thanks for the fun post

Honeycomb seems like the Red headed step child of Android operating system. It almost seems as the whole point of it was to beta test ICS. And finding stuff like launchers designed for it is hard. And even google doesn't support it that well, I mean where is Chrome?
Google seems more content to pretend that Android went straight from 2.3 to Android 4.0 and there never was a 3. But when your on a tablet that isn't slated for an update, nor has alot of developers like the HTC Flyer, your options are limited, and your pretty much stuck on honeycomb.
I'd really like a nice stock launcher replacement that fits the honeycomb theme, and has customization options. Right now Go Launcher HD is the only real alternative to the stock launcher that I can find. ADW supposedly supports it, but IMO it doesn't seem much better than running a phone launcher on the tab. What else is out there that I'm not seeing?
I know what you mean. Personally, I use espier launcher. It works well. Don't use the hd version, the main launcher has a tablet layout.

cool I'll give it a try. wish you could just view every launcher in the play store with ease, you really gotta dig through a 100 adw and go themes just to find one launcher

I didn't like espier too ios like but thanks for the suggestion. Any other recommendations?

Is there a rom that's just like the galaxy s3 for the skyrocket that's fast and stable? I can find anything on the xda app

There are a few that use the GS3's Touchwiz launcher (example: SkyICS). But, I haven't see any w/ all of the GS3's features (like Smart Stay, etc).
Ya it would be cool to have a ROM that had all the gs3 apks and stuff
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using XDA Premium HD app
yeah people continue to point to those roms but thats not a straight touchwiz rom like on the gs3
i would have thought there would be just about the same amount of TW roms to Stock Android roms

I had smartstay on my rocket before. It didn't work great and I really just didn't care for it. You can get it though. I'm sure you can poke around with search and grab an apk for it

Look at the ICS and JB keyboards that VLLLW developed. You can find them in Google Play. I currently use the JB keyboard and I loooove it. Another keyboard you can try out is the GOkeyboard, also found in Google Play. I've had some lag issues with the GOkeyboard though. However, that was also when I didn't manage my device well at all.

Never liked go keyboard myself. I like better keyboard from Amazon app store. Also perfect keyboard from play store is good too. Both will cost a couple dollars, but better keyboard has followed me from 2 phones and about 50 ROMs. The themes for them are gold too.

SwiftKey!
Hackers Keyboard from the Play store.
Free and great for tty and such. Full 5 rows in landscape mode. Ctrl, arrows, etc.
Also... CM 10 Jelly is faster than any stock ROM on the Infuse. Just awesome. The new JellyBean 4.2 has a great swipe feature. Solid...

Hackers keyboard, was so happy when I found this a must have for SSH and VDP.
For my phone I've always liked the swype that came with it, seems to be the smoothest and most accurate IMO
