Is it safe to remove the demo games and other rubbish using titanium backup? I get a warning about might having to reinstall the ROM, what's the chances of this happening?

Its perfectly fine, but back up allthe apps you delete and maybe even do a backup from CWM just incase. Be warned though removing something that requires another can cause sh*t to go wrong, for instance Samsung bloatware is safe, Google maps, places, yellow pages, all that jazz is safe... others that seem to be system oriented, other than the blatantly obvious PHONE AND MESSAGING OR FILE EXPLORE shouldn't be removed, the rest should be safe, nothing that'll destroy your phone, and if it does, that's why you made a backup

I've been getting constant FC's while opening my contacts list lately (process.android.acore, or is it android.process.acore, it's either of those) and I'm running out of ideas on how to fix it. I've applied all the ROMs available for this device (yes factory reset in recovery, wiped and reformatted the usuals, fixed permissions, etc) and regardless of each fresh install, each ROM always FC's with the same .acore crash when going through my phone contacts. The rest of the system apps and everything else works fine, just no access to contacts for longer than 5 seconds. Was hoping I could find an answer from someone more tech savvy than myself, as I do not know where in the system directories .acore files reside, let alone how to alter them. Thanks to anyone that can help me through this annoyance.

I guess Its possible it could be a hardware issue. Out of curiousity do you use titanium backup or anyother backup service?
Sent from my Senseless Doubleshot using xda premium
Ofcourse But the last time I manually restored using Norton Utilities, only installing the apps I used the most, and got the same result. I even tried using a contacts app from another source, moved the original app to the sdcard and renamed the new one in its place using root exp, changed the permissions to what they needed to be, then I found myself without a working dialer app...lol

It would seem that the contacts app is deeply rooted in the sense build, although it still FC's while using other launchers.

Yes the Contacts apk is deeply rooted in sense framework. You cant just use another apk to replace it.

Does anyone know how to back up the FPse emulator data? I had to restore my phone to a previous date and couldn't back my emulator data up. I lost a month and a halves worth of work from my ff7 game. I was pretty pissed when I found out everything was erased! So is there a way to back up the emulator data to prevent this in the future if I ever need to restore again?
Also, the games save have nothing with the actual games. They save somewhere else. I think it has something to do with the emulator itself.

Have you tried to backup the data by any means? Try Titanium Backup.

I'm rooted and running CM7. I have clockworkmod recovery too. Making a back up of my phone is not an issue. I need to back up the emulator itself in its current state.
I have tried copying the emulator itself to my sdcard and still no luck. Which I thought would have solved the issue, but that wasn't the case. So I was thinking maybe there is data from the emulator somewhere on my phone I could back up.(no idea where/how to or I wouldn't be asking!)
I had to restore to a previous back up because I downloaded something and my phone stared getting all wacky. Then a week down the line, the app market wouldn't work. Facebook app and on the browser were blocked. Only on my phone. I tried on a friends phone, and i had no problem signing in.
Just in case something like this happens again, or if ever needed for any reason; I don't want to have to restore and lose a hella game time time.

Ok, so here's what I want you to try: Titanium backup
It will back up *the apk and related data* just tell it to update the backup when you're asleep.

When I'm asleep? What does it take forever? Thanks btw!

No, a full backup takes five minutes, I was meaning to say that you should make a schedule for it to do that, though I am not sure if you can specify only one app for it to update, but I've also never tried it either.
Edit: ok, just checked can't do it for only one app,.but I reccomend using it to back up your apps and data anyhow. If you're on GB and staying there you can also backup system data.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Yeah I'm on GB and staying. I've thought about switching to ICS but heard there are lots of kinks that need to be worked out. Maybe ill try it sometime in the future, when a stable version is released.
Up until now, backing up the system data was done on my Linux box. I just use CWM to make a back up, then store the back up on my Linux box. Titanium will make it that much easier.
I'm gonna check titanium out tonight. Thanks again man!

Anyone know how to transfer save-states or memory card data to a pc (to use with ePSXe)?
I'd love play Symphony of the night on my phone, and continue on, on my computer, then back again.
I can automatically sync folders with Dropsync, but I don't know where the files are.

Well, it would either save on the SD card or with the app data. Try googling it, I hae a hunch someone has asked the exact same question before, maybe not on XDA's G2x forum, per se, but somewhere.
Warlock, nvm I misread your post. But I have tried the titanium app and its pretty cool. Now all I have to do now is restore my phone and figure out how to restore the data
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Ok, I figured it out. I couldn't find them because they are hidden. You need root explorer to access them.
The memory cards on the phone is located at:
data\data\com.emulator.fpse\files\memcards
-copy 'slot1.mcd' to the PC.
-rename it to 'epsxe000.mcr' and put it in the memcards folder in epsxe
-and to get it back to the phone, do the opposite, name it back to 'slot1.mcd' and put it in the folder it came from.
Despite the different extensions, both the android and windows emulators will read the memory cards fine, as long as the name is right.
Cool, so you could play on your PC, save, slap it on your SD card and play on your phone. Maybe it's time I dust off one of my Resident Evil discs. STARS!
Warlock, I tried doing the dame thing. That is essentially backing up the emulator data. So if I ever lost my emulator data I would never lose the spot in the game I am at. I have seen in a bunch of different places that the data would be in the data folder. Oddly, my data folder is empty and has always been empty. Should it be? I even changed the file path of the memory card on my emulator to save to my sdcard. I took a look at it after a save point in FF7 and it was 0kb big.....empty. or was it?

Yeah, that was the problem I was having initially. I gather that you can't see anything inside the 'data' folder with a regular file explorer, you have to use the 'root explorer' app. (I assume your phone has to be rooted to use this).
I'll also add a handy shortcut within Root Explorer. You can bookmark folders, so its really easy to jump to the memcards folder and back to where you want to back them up to. Just long press on the folder you want to bookmark.
Yeah I'm using the regular file manager that came with CM7. I feel really dumb for not thinking about this before. I am rooted so all I had to do was open a terminal and navigate to the data folder lol its not as easy on the eye as a GUI would be but I still don't know why I didn't think of this earlier?! Anywho, ill check out the root explorer app you have suggested. Thanks for the file path to the game data too!

hey everybody I'm a noob here and have just got a galaxy s 4g. it is completely stock with froyo 2.2.1
i have a pic of a skull and crossbones in the gallery and it says 96khz. its the only pic in the gallery and there is no option to delete and i would like to delete it. how do i do this? and what is the pic even there for?? do i need it?
Its poisen you got a nasty virus send the phone back LOL JK i have never heard of that mine came without that img but i did notice that when i visited places on the web i would get random pics saved to my phone. Rooring would be something to look into gives you total control over your
phone but make sure you do your reading before you try anything as you can seriously damage your phone by flashing wrong stuff. Its easy you JUST HAVE TO READ.

thanks, I've rooted the phone last night and i uninstalled the garbage but i still can't erase the pic. i know it doesn't do anything but it annoys me that it's there and i can't delete it. do you (or anyone)know where it would be located if i try to go in the "files" app icon?
Sounds like a gangbangers old phone. Gallery is usually accessing pics on the sdcard so you should've be able to delete that tag once you're connected on the PC.

Is there a way that you are able to recover deleted pictures from our phone when it is connected via USB to a computer?
Sent from my MB865 using XDA
No. sadly, if you deleted pics through your phone they're gone for good. Pics are the one thing that is automatically saved to the sd card. If you have any pics (from the camera) you can find them on your sd card in a folder called "DCIM". Use ES file explorer or your computer to find the folder.

I actually figured out how to mount the SD card and then scan for files using a program.

Dropbox is great for this...I'm experimenting with Google+ right now. With what I'm taking pictures of these days, the worst that happens is everyone sees a "problem area" of my hotel that I'm getting maintenance or housekeeping to work on. So far, it's keeping everything private and I'm not having any issues with upload.

Yea that would have not worked for me not having the picture deleted. Apparently girls don't like pictures of them taken while they are bored at a baseball game.

yes, it is, just with a proper data recovery software, like Jihosoft Photo Recovery for Mac. Stop using you phone and connect it to computer via USB, start this program, you will be able to recover deleted pictures from your phone with ease.

This is because "deleting" something on an sd card just marks it ok to over-right, but does not break the actual logic gates in the card. this means the data is still there, until something else is put in it's place.
