CM10 or AOPK....... - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I've been running CleanROM4.5 since the day I got my HOX, I see awesome progress has been made since then so I'd like to know if battery life is improved over CleanROM and if so which ROM provides the most stable power sipping ROM. I didn't see any thread asking this so any help is appreciated!
Thanks!!!

There pretty much the same I'm running aokp jb right now and loving it
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app

The only way to really know it to try both
I personally like cm10 over aokp
For personal reasons, I don't like one of the contributors
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

Any increase in battery life since switching to either?

CM10 seemed to be about the same battery as CR4.5 for me, except when I was streaming. For some reason CM10 seemed to drain battery faster when I was streaming music.

Rather than make another thread. Previously when flashing roms I'd use TB and backup apps and then texts, flash then reinstall. Is this still the preferred method or are there other ways?

JB on the One X

Which jelly bean ROM is the most stable and provides the mist functionality right now?

Bro, there are only 2 ROMS. Look in the Original Android Development thread. One is more stable than the other. One has more features than the other. You just need to do a bit of reading.
Just so I'm not flaming, CM10 is a bit more stable.
Sent from my HTC One XL using Tapatalk 2
im not sure either one will work?
I experimented with CM10. On my phone, it was not very stable. AT&T VM wouldn't set up, browsing was very hit and miss and wifi was very unreliable. Fun to play with, but I certainly couldn't use it as a daily driver yet.
CM10 has come along way right. It's working great at the moment I've been running it for a few days and there's been no hickups.
Take note that your battery might suffer thought.... At the most right now I'm getting 8hrs use but that said some other gents are getting 14hrs.... so take that into consideration.
But CM10 JB is good as daily driver. Everything or almost has now been fixed. Microphone/Speaker still needs work a bit thought. But for the most part definitely works good.
From the screen shot you can see that when I'm using my HOX the battery drain is quite fast but on standby its pretty good. There's more improvement coming along and it will shift into a beta stage shortly.

The latest version of CM10 is very stable. I've been using it as my DD for the last 3 days since it dropped and I've got no issues. Video camera, Netflix, and Hulu don't work atm but to me that doesn't matter but it might to you. Other than that, wake locks have been fixed, call quality is great, super smooth, no issues here.

It must just be my phone then. I was on it all day Tuesday and Wednesday and it exhibited all the problems above, plus it absolutely sucked battery power.
I highly recommend betterbatterystat to view what exactly kills your battery.

I'll getting amazing battery life. Instead of restoring all my apps (50 or so), I only restored the 10 apps I use most, and I'm getting 4-5 hours of screen on time.

Favorite ROM

Just trying to see what is everyones favorite ROM and why. So many to choose from not sure what to try.
Looking for something more stable though.
Thanks

CM10 M1 for aosp JellyBean, its very stable and fast
Synergy 1.7 for Touchwiz, its fast, crazy battery life, and has the mod for changing songs via the volume rocker with the screen off, some of the newer synergy builds had a delay in waking the phone for me
CleanRom is also nice, fast and great battery
Just make a backup and flash away not every phone is going to have the same experience someone else did. Your best bet is to just try them all out stick with what meets your needs best.

I like Synergy as well, but it freezes a lot and restarts the phone. It seems to go in cycles... I can go days without it and then there will be several within a couple of minutes.

In my opinion, Clean ROM is the most stable ROM available. I have been running 2.1 for a while and just updated to 2.5 with out any problems or crashes. I highly recommend! Scrosler is the bomb!:good:
I've gotta throw a vote in for Jellywiz... It's not the greatest on battery life, but it's a great daily driver.
I also liked Synergy ROM as well.
CleanROM for touchwiz, AOKP for AOSP jellybean.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
My favorite so far for Jellybean has been Jellywiz, but it was a little buggy for my taste last time I ran it. The hot reboots were killing me.
Daily driver right now is CleanROM 2.1 with Clean Kernel 1.2, Dirty Tweaks 2.3 and Kinda Crap Mods. Best setup I've had over the past month, and really gives me the functionality and feel I like. I've flashed other stuff and keep restoring CleanROM.
But, you gotta try them out for yourself.
I gotta jump in here and spread some aosp love!! Paranoid 2.13 and Codename Android 3.6 are fantastic daily drivers. Ive been using CNA since Sunday. Super smooth, lots of customization, theme chooser, new SMS/MMS pop up,, etc...
When paired with lean kernel battery life is definitely do able!
You should at least give them a try!!

Fast, great battery life and TROUBLE FREE rom --- Clean Rom!
CleanROM. Looks like stock, very stable and incredible battery life.
I've been running synergy since day 1 and been lovin it, had it on my dinc as well, amazing battery life, superb performance and no reception problems at all. I like the fact that one of they're main priorities is completely relinquishing Verizon's control over devices. I've heard good things about Clean as well but haven't had the need to flash anything else. SynergyROM!!

currently using cm10 and have the same mod for changing songs via the volume rocker.
Overall i like the AOSP based roms best. The just tend to have a number of things not work or work well (GPS, audio issues, strength of signal, etc...). The TW ROMS are best with the stable releases, unless you like testing with daily.
I have most success doing complete wipes and a regular flash to stock when i hit weird issues.
CleanROMS are really fantastic, Beans is VERY innovative (just unstable on my phone), CM10 is great but will really come into its own when the issues are fixed.
Keep in mind that what is stable on one phone may not be on the next.

I am still pretty new to this however, a little background. I just switched over from drinking the Iphone cool-aid. Ever so thankful that I did! Im running AOKP Build2. I love it however the battery life eats it big time. I see everyone talking about Clean Rom and I think that is about what I want. Am I understanding correctly that Clean Rom is pretty much bare bones? All I care about is "Butter" and battery life! Thanks in advance from a noober!
My favorites due to reliability and use as a daily driver. Haven't had any issues with these gems:
Synergy - whatever the latest ICS touchwiz version is. (Using Imo's LeanKernel)
Code Name Android - whatever the latest version is. (Using KT747 Kernel)
+1 to CodenameAndroid. The sh*t is BEAST! I've always kept restoring back to Synergy because I never was truly satisfied with any other Rom. With CNA I've never even thought once about going back.

Stable efficient ROMS

Okay guys,
I've browsed the forums and can't find any where that people are talking about roms they love. I would love no data drops. Good battery. I like touch wiz and aosp both. I read someone said something about freeze.. being god but couldn't figure out what he was refering to. . Suggestions? Kernel combinations?
Thanks guys

Synergy or clean Rom for touch wiz, liquid smooth for aosp. And imoseyons kernel on either of them
ive only given AOKP and paranoid android much use lately.
id venture to say that for everday general use any ROM posted here is stable enough.
they all have their quirks, but to call, text, browse, game and send emails all ROMs will do those tasks effeciently enough.
ive always (always) done clean installs though.
To be honest the stock rooted image is also plenty fast and of course stable. This is already a pretty fast phone.
Paranoid cm10.jb 2.21 running like a champ

The only rom i have had ZERO issues with has been Beans TW rom. Absolutely no problems, everything works all the time. No force closes no data, gps, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth problems. I highly recommend it.
Sent from my Galaxy S III using Xda Premium
Cleanrom 2.5 stable, great battery, and customizable install options. Then find the thread here on xda to install Google now and you will feel like your almost running JB.
I've been running CM10 since M1 and it's been 100% stable. I've had no issues with call volume or data drops or anything of the sort. I'm on M2 with Nova launcher now and it's even better.
The 10/14 nightly was iffy for me though. My phone wouldn't boot. There were a lot of kernel upgrades so it could be because I'm also using leankernel.
Battery lasts a good 12 hours with about 2.5 hours of screen time with moderate use. Web browsing, E-mail, texting, etc. With mostly Wi-Fi.
Bean's has been great. I haven't had GPS until using this ROM. Great battery life, smooth, cool features. I am really impressed with this.

Fastest JB rom

Ok I know it's about preference but I am looking for the fastest JB rom, that will still save the battery. The reason I am asking this because it would be a lot easier for me to ask then to try out ever single rom.
So what is your guy's opinion?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Everyone's phone is different and has different conditions like signal and how much you use it/what you use it for. I personally like AOKP since I'm an AOKP dev but the battery life for me isn't the best so far so I'm running Liquid Smooth.
There are 12 or 13 different JB roms out there and you will likely get 12-13 different answers to this question.
Paranoid Android is my current JB rom and the speed and battery are fantastic.
I understand guys. I have had paranoid android but I wasn't able to the feel the fast on the rom. Any others known to be good?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I'm on paranoid n it feels pretty damn fast to me. I'm thinking of trying other JB ROMs out

Lmao, I'm gonna try that. My girl would love that ****. Btw TC, between the CM Nightlies, CM10 M2, and LiquidSmooth, I'm gonna have to give the edge to LiquidSmooth. That rom flies!

I second your thoughts
Liquidsmooth. Amazingly fast and the battery life on this baby is really good for me. Have had no problems whatsoever with it. ParanoidAndroid is pretty fast for me as well.
Lol thanks for the input. Liquid smooth it is.

I'm running AOKP right now and love it. I tried Paranoid Android and CleanRom, but AOKP has been the best for me in terms of battery life and performance.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
'Fastest' is all about perception. If 2 roms share the same base (AOSP or TW), kernel and build.prop / init.d, theoretically they should be the same speed.
Personally all these are plenty fast enough, the difference is in stability and what doesn't work.
Paranoid is unique since you can customize your phone to be in tablet mode. For me, the choice is no longer whats fastest or best battery life because each one is almost the same.

there no sd card swap mod for aosp yet is there? thats what im waiting for.

Best battery life opinion

I know its standard to protocol to answer these type of questions with read and flash em and decide which is best. Problem is that its not for me, its for my girlfriend who is not very tech savey to say the least. She is complaining of battery life so I was wondering if there was a rom that was/is perfectly stable with good battery life. Performance isn't an issue as neither is eye candy or tweaks. She is pretty much out of the box type of person. She left ios because of the bigger screen and other functions ios doesnt have, but for the most part she is typical iphone user. I just want her to get better battery life.

HTC one x you press the capacitive button to the right of home then you swipe up on the app to quit it.Now If you want to permanately remove bloatware/other processes, you have to root the phone ...although juice defender ult is a great app..the one x battery is great for me..even when I was on stock..maybe turn off fastboot( in power settings) turn off all the sound, Screen brightness low, touch settings(vibrate when keys touched..etc).check push notifications manually.. believe me android is more productive in battery life then IOS. Hope I helped. A thanks would be appreciated
Try paranoid android 2.54 with stock kernel, gives me the most battery on screen usage with 4-5 hours and 14 hours standby.
I also have screen brightness set to auto and auto sync for gmail, whatsapp, and twitter. I switched from cleanrom 5 and I'm loving this one.
I have tried most ROMs including cm10, kingkang ROM, etc

Would you say aosp Roms are more battery. Efficient than sense?
Also for each Rom do we have to also flash the kernal seperately using the all in one tool kit by hasoon?
CleanROM has the best battery life for me. It's also extremely stable.
Sent from my HTC One XL
You need a rooted sense ROM. Debloated. Root it so you can flash a kernel that has some has undervolt applied like elemental 2.0.

Yeah sense ROMs for me were okay for battery but the PA 2.54 has actually proven to be better for me at least. Try them all and see what works best for reliability and such, I spent 3-4 weeks discovering what I liked most

From what I've seen on the dev forums, it seems like the majority of people have not had a lot of luck with battery life while using CM10 (just my perception, though. I'm on CleanRom). I definitely think a good kernel will go a long way (especially if you underclock things), but the ROM will play a part if a lot of software has to be running all the time to support ROM features.
Kernal has more to do with battery life hence the reason people are not getting amazing battery life on aosp roms for our phone right now. Kernal is still a WIP. I am hoping we see jelly bean sense roms soon, might give the best of both worlds.

Hey guys, I've recently bought a AT&T HTC One X. This is my first smartphone, and it is fully stocked, locked bootloader and no root, android 4.0.4 and software version 2.20.502.7, really like the phone. However, I am not really impressed with the battery life. I would usually charge it over night for around 8 hours, take it off in the morning at around 08:00, take it to school, casually check facebook/gmail, maybe watch one or two videos and by the time I get home at around 15:30, the battery would be at around 15%. I was wondering whether this is normal and if there is any point of my rooting the device and flashing any custom roms?
I have disabled all the AT&T bloatware, decreased my screen brightness to around 25%, no live wallpapers, disabled auto syncing, wifi and mobile data mobile switched on only when I use it, only have a weather/clock widget and a couple of games. So I have been researching about rooting and customer roms for about a month now, and found out that some members have amazing battery life times with Cleanroms and custom kernels, so I was wondering whether the latest 5.1 Cleanrom with a Beastmode kernel 4.4 would cause any damage to my phone and whether any of you guys are using it?
Thanks for your time!

Spam? I am new to this which means I don't necessary know how the whole system works, therefore I am trying to find the best answer I can. Sorry to see that's bothering some people.
Irritate the ones that have to go through these threads an your Chances diminish greatly.
Tis a sad day when being new allows for this spamming in ones mind.
