I was wondering what the best kernel for battery life is that is compatible with paranoid android. Anyone know of one?

You should search next time. However, KT747 is a good kernel for battery life, with the proper governor.

I'm now finding that my biggest priority is battery life. My phone absolutely hammers through the battery at an alarming rate these days. I've heard that 2.3.4 roms are harder on the battery and I think it's since these came out that the problem has got worse.
I've tried nearly every rom in the dev section but I never seem to reach any conclusion about which is easiest on the battery. Any of you have an opinion on this.

The kernel is very important. Choose a uv kernel as a trinty one.
NsCollab is a very good Rom for battery saving.

Hey guys, I recently flash cm rc1 and been running whatever kernel that came with it. My battery life has been worse compared to stock froyo 2.2. I'm a medium usage person so I was wondering what kernel is best for battery life and what setting are people running for setcpu to maximize they battery life. Thanks in advnace.
Great question. I would like to know this too.

It seems no matter what the kernel and no matter what the Tom, everyone has different outcomes on battery life... try some out and see what works for you..

Yes, it is amazing the difference in opinion on this subject. I easily get 16 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy usage, and 1.5 days with light usage. And I am using plain CM7 RC1, without any CPU/Battery apps. Trinity or Faux kernels reduce this considerably regardless of the OC/UV combos I have tried.
To make sure you are getting accurate results and to get best battery life make sure you calibrate the battery (there is an app for this, or can be done manually). This has proven to solve problems I've had where I only get about 8 hours battery life after changing Roms.
Faux's is the only custom kernel I've tried, and my battery life is unbelievable. It's almost doubled.
Hello guys,
Can you tell me which rom and kernel do you use? And that you have pretty good battery life and smoothness?
Thanks!
That's a wide open debatable question for the ages....
Its main factor is ur usage and settings (ie: notifications, display & governor)
It also will depend way to much on what Apps u add to a certain ROM since some Apps are battery hogs.
The other issue is how old ur battery is.... Original, new or off brand.
But from my experience...
Slim ROM with newest marmite kernel but use the basic download without "Google now" or other extras.
Good luck

Another possibility is to use a GB rom

Don't Ask this kind of question, it's not productive, and it depending a lot of your use.
Test yourself and you will see.

there is no best kernel for battery life. with any kernel available, you can have great battery life or absolutely terrible battery life. the kernel isnt the key to battery life. battery life depends on your personal usage, your personal setup, your personal apps used, and very much on the quality of the phone/data connection around you. everything elae is minor.

Yep agreed. You can "tune" any kernel to favour performance or battery. Its just different devs have different ideas about what the optimal balance is so defaults vary.
Its all about reading, learning and tuning.

best way to know is to try every kernel out there
We do not allow best ROM/kernel threads on XDA. Everyone has different uses meaning battery life varies from person to person. Best thing to do is head over to the development section, try some out and see which best suits your needs.

Any good suggestions for the best kernel for battery life for cm11 ? Screenshots of your battery stats would be nice.

Hi,
At least: Kernel discussions.
And Nexus 5 Battery Results.
All you want is here, need a bit reading and testing by yourself. And it's not the kernel that makes your battery life, but mainly your use and settings.
And simms22 summed well
No offense but I think a mod will see this as best ROM/ kernel discussion.
If I ran CM I would go with Chaos because of the NXT tweaks app that comes with it. I used Chaos before they went CAF exclusively and just recently switched to Elemental X, which does have a CAF and non-CAF
