Its this the same specs as the Prime?
I am trying to buy a case and screen protector for it.
Help....
I think it's similar enough that anything that isn't made to fit will fit it loosely. What kind of case are you talking about? The screen protector should fit, it's similar enough. Test the size before you put it on.

The case should probably fit no problem, it might be looser or tighter than the Prime, but it should fit just fine. I'm not sure if you need the screen protector, but the Prime and Infinity have pretty much the same size.
I just ordered this one from Amazon. Less than $20, genuine leather and comes with a stylus.

The case is referenced as being specifically fit to the TF700, so that means a return policy option if it would not, contrary to expectations. The screen protector would probably fit -- as said, trim the edges from the dock connector areas if you use the dock -- but ask yourself if you really want/need to sacrifice sharpness of the screen for a slight amount of added protection. The screen itself is one of the main selling points, remember?
I'm wondering why bother with a screen protecter when it's got Gorilla Glass? There are videos of people using the TF101 as a cutting board with no ill-effects. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUcJnwyCtes
I haven't used a screen protector at all with my TF101 for the year that I've had it. It does have a case, and the keyboard, so it's not like the screen is exposed for abuse much, but I have not noticed any scratches at all on the screen.

I wouldn't compare too different products. Screens are fused with the main body on different ways causing differences in durability. Also another thing to consider is that my old phone had Gorilla Glass but scratched way more than my non Gorilla S2. Honestly I think Gorilla Glass are just like Beats headphones a marketing gimmick or masterpiece depend in on how you look at it.

I had a Skinomi skin on my Infinity that was just great. I bought the keyboard dock. It ruined the skin. When you dock it, it squishes the bottom of the skin at the two connector points. Sad about that. So it's back to naked. I think you could cut 1/4" off the bottom of a skin and it would work but you would have that thin line where the skin ends above the bottom of the tablet.

I'm going to agree the it's the addition of the screen protector. I have the full carbon on mine and no issues with the dock, but I left the screen protector off, figuring that Gorilla Glass 2 was enough protection for me, and the dock acting as a protector itself, works.
I just wish I could get a carbon skin to match for the dock now...
I guess I should have been more clear... I was referring to the Skinomi clear skin SCREEN protector. I had the carbon fiber on it too and the carbon fiber does not interfere with the dock. However, the front clear screen protector proved incompatible with the dock. I wish they noted that on their web site.

Aha! I don't think a one of us have actually put the screen protector on.
I had one that came with the skinomi carbon, but never applied it. I was actually debating to do that today, but now I guess I know better than that.
Hmm. That stinks. I was looking at getting a Skinomi skin and the screen protector. The one they had for the Prime actually had it cut out where the dock overlapped the screen so that the screen protector wouldn't interfere with the dock and get all bunched up. I assume the ones for the TF700 don't have that?

They do not. I emailed and suggested they make just such a product. Maybe they are working on it.

I cut about a half inch off the bottom of the front screen cover. The foam on the dock was getting pushed downward because of the extra with of the rear and front covers. I didn't want to cut the rear since I rest the tab on its back. A half inch off the bottom front still covers the main screen. It only exposes some of the black screen border. Which doesn't really get touched anyway. Works fine. Just looks weird. Would have been nice to just outline were the dock covers and just cut that out but I already had the screen cover on.

I wonder if the TF201 screen protector would work for the TF700 then....since that one has it ( Pre-cut section for dock). Seems strange that they wouldn't have included that in the one for this model as well.

I went ahead and ordered the Skinomi brushed steel skin and a TF201 screen protector (indicated as dock compatible on their site). I can now officially confirm that the TF201 Dock Compatible screen protector fits the TF700 perfectly. It comes pre-cut for the dock so that it will not bunch up or cause a snug fit when you dock it to the keyboard. If you decide to order one, make sure you get the screen protector that indicates it is compatible with the dock. The one that is NOT compatible with the dock does not have the pre-cut section at the bottom. Hope this helps!

Yep: http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer-infinity/features/
Doesn't mean that you won't need or want a screen protector though.
I don't use any screen protector for my tf700(whole family using it), droid Charge (my son and I using it)or galaxy S3(wife and daughter) and up until today, no scratch on any of them.
I don't use a screen protector on my tablet. However, my Samsung Captivate (just over 2 years old) has recently began scratching for some reason. But it doesn't really bother me since in a few months I'll buy a new phone anyways.

Oftentimes, the screen protector is not used for the most obvious effect of protecting the screen, but also to reduce glare (especialy when outisde or in high-intensity (i.e., harsh) lighting. That might be a reason for going for that screen protector anyway, the fact that the TF700 has Gorilla Glass 2 notwithstanding...
I would, however, highly recommend *against* using an anti-glare screen protector on the TF700 - I installed one when I got my TF700 and after two weeks or so, I removed it once I saw how nice the naked screen looked on my new Nexus 7. All that I can say is - WOW - the anti-glare protector *really* made a beautiful screen look bad! If you are going to use an anti-glare protector, you might as well just buy the TF300 instead since all of the resolution benefits will be "hidden" under that 10 dollar screen protector!

Absolutely no point to using a screen protector on the transformer. Unless you literally chuck things at it or chuck it around carelessly?

Couldn't agree with you more, and it's exactly why I've never used screen protectors myself. For some, the glare's too much. though.

Especially with the dock connected -- the laptop-fold makes it oen of the best-protected items in my work bag. Except maybe for the cookies I used to take along for the night shifts -- they oftentimes underwent cookie genocide during the train commute to work.
So many "do i need a screen protector" threads i dont know why these are not auto-locked...
Yes, you have gorilla glass.
Yes, gorilla glass WILL scratch
You CAN get dents / micro scratches / even full sized scratches in GG
You CAN use a device and never scratch the screen even without a screen protector the same way you CAN go to a dorm party and not get drunk. Just depends on you.
A screen protector CAN make it harder to swipe (esp the military grade ones)
A screen protector CAN reduce image quality
A screen protector CAN save your screen from getting worse damage and potentially needing to replace your screen.
Use your head. Gorilla glass is glass. It can scratch. Maybe not with something sharp like a razor blade but if you get grit or dust dirt rocks etc and it rubs against the glass that can and will make a scratch.
Anyone who lives in a place where they put gravel down in the winter knows it doesnt take long before you get pits all over your windshield. Those same pits can happen in gorilla glass. Yeah, you may not have scratches, but you can get all kinds of dings and whatnot. Hell, my S2 had a nice sized scratch along the bottom and that had gorilla glass.
You have to decide do you want the protection of a screen protector or do you want the tradeoff of a screen protector. If you like the feel of glass, dont want fingerprints, etc. there are oileophobic screen protectors out there (cost a bit more but better quality), dont feel like rubber, dont leave fingerprints, easy to replace if you do scratch them
Oh, and for those of you with a gorilla glass screen that IS scratched, give this a read:

I just got this tablet. Do I need to get a screen protector for this? Making lots of fingerprints, specially my little sister (whom it's for).

imo, you should get one. i have a Clarivue (okay, but has rainbow effect) and i noticed two hairline scratches on it recently. i was using a Jot Pro, or it could have been a dirty finger, or whatever. better on the screen protector than on the screen.
I had one on my Prime but didn't get one for the Infinity as the one on the Prime got all messed up by the dock. I dislike smudges but i just clean it often, but with the gorilla glass you really should have to worry about scratches. Mine still looks pretty new every time i clean the screen so I'm happy without.
If you are worried about it though, just get a protector anyways, nothing wrong with rather being safe then sorry.
Is there any way to remove a small scratch on my phone screen//
The screen is scratch-resistant though

I am sure you can take it to the local computer shop and pay them $30 to remove them if you are being annoyed by it. If you prefer not to, you can put a screen protector on to cover the scratch.
Iver hear using toothpaste (one with no "grains" can be used as well as car wax. I've use both for light scratches and some medium scratches on my phone and glasses... I dont know what else to use that works as advertised
I think toothpaste is not good idea.

Whitening toothpaste works great on glass. I would not use it on plastic though.
I had a scratch on a remote control screen - not touch screen just a LCD screen. The glass face had a small scratch, used whitening toothpaste, a damp kitchen cloth and rubbed it in for about 30 minutes. It got rid of the scratch, and it didn't effect the glass translucently around the scratch. If you tried that on plastic it'll make the scratch disappear but it'll blur the plastic around it. And for a LCD it'll effect how the pixel light through it.
So don't do it. Either replace the screen, or live with it. Always use a screen protector. Even glass can be scratched, if you have keys in your pocket metal is harder than glass, so it'll scratch.
correction screen was like old type "casio" type LCD monochome screen, not RGB pixels.

It's the other way round, even a knife (just a simple metal knife not some diamond edged sword ) won't scratch glass. Try it if you don't believe me then try it on a mirror or window or something instead of the phone (because actually the oleophobic layer could be scratched by the metal)
Grit is the worst thing, if grit/dirt/small stone particles whatever you wanna call them gets in between the metal and your glass, or just grit by itself, then it will scratch the hell out of it.

Maybe one of the products that repair scratches in eyeglasses or DVD's?
There was a discussion about this a couple of years ago.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185606
I remember it because I had a post in it.
I have had good experience using Brasso to reduce scratches on CD and DVD discs and have read about it being used to help eliminate scratches on smartphone and ipod screens as well.
I made the mistake of not buying/applying a screen protector to my phone... ONCE. Screen protectors, and at the very least a silicon protector to go around the body are the best money spent on your phone.
Toothpaste removes scratches.
You should always use those protections for the screen You dont loose sensivity, are not figerprint prone, and protect from scratches.

Gorilla Glass being scratch proof is about as real as the Jaguars winning the Superbowl this year (rimshot).
I don't know why anyone makes that claim, every person who thinks that whom I've ever met has scratches on their screen.
I've always wondered if those products that remove scratches from cars and such could be used on a cell phone screen. My thought it that it probably wouldn't work, but it might be worth a test on a Gorilla Glass device which is outdated or the like. Someone could make a lot of money on such a product though I'd imagine.
I'd never heard of toothpaste before, that's a new one.
My advice is to get a matte screen protector the day you order a device. You can get them on eBay and Amazon for like $2 or $3 for a set of 3 and they go on very nicely with no bubbles and feel really nice. And they never hamper my view of the screen. I've got one on my 720P LCD Nexus 4 screen and I really like it.

Just remember Corning Gorilla Glass is different from Scratch resistant glass. My Sony has scratch resistant glass and it does not scratch very easy. Samsung galaxy for example has gorilla glass which does scratch but is tougher to break.
Old thread but I came across it and wanted to correct some horrible information.
DO NOT USE TOOTHPASTE on your screen. Most screens now have an oleophobic layer that the toothpaste will completely decimate creating more scratches to go with whatever you have.
Want to protect your screen? Use a screen protector.
Once it's scratched it's just scratched.
so is there really a way to remove scratches on a screen?
